  1. DO NOT BUY FLARES FROM SHOWCARS!!! search on them here and you will see why. search for Reaction research. A MUCH better company to deal with.
  2. At the ZdayZ tech session Sharrif (and others) was talking about how the greddy blue box does weird things with the spark that could possibly damage your engine and to upgrade to something else.
  3. check it out... An SD33T powered International Scout. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/380737037.html
  4. I have seen a Z that was running coilovers and 5.5" of backspacing. They had to run some REALLY narrow tires in comparison to not rub. Or just get some 10mm shims and test it out.
  5. This Forum is for the REAL Z cars. But for the SBC... build a 10,000 RPM, 3.3 liter, flat plane'd destroked crank, DOHV beast!!!
  6. Hmm... You have a bunch of sanding to do before your final coats... Let us see the results when after an initial sanding!
  7. Jonus, Is the wastegate hooked up into the exhaust? Looks great!!! I am going to be using a similar turbo layout to that on my VH45 swap... What are you going to do for heat protection for the belts? Looking great!
  8. mmm...yummy! I think cars look faster when they are really beat up and old looking.. Great stuff guys! I'm coming up with a new S30 design as of now. I love doing this!!!
  9. I just won these taillights on Ebay... Thet aren't cracked but they do have some small scratches and overspray from a bad masking job. Are there any tips for removing the paint and polishing out the scratches? Dremel with fabric wheel and paint polish? I have been looking for a set of these for a long time now that aren't cracked. The chrome is also peeling so I'll probably paint them black. These will go on my Z to replace my mint 260/280 style taillights. I just need to find the surrounds for these or make some. Thanks guys! OTM
  10. Wetsand until it is flat then add some layers. You may wear through a layer getting it flat but that is fine. Just add more paint on top. You can give the drip area a quick polish to see if you got it flat enough. I just use aluminum polish to do a quick check... Just sand it back down before you go back over it. OTM
  11. Chewie!!! THAT IS HAWT!!!! I'm going to be getting a Jada Z for the next competition for sure! Hopefully I can find some other models to get parts from as well!!! OTM
  12. Go to junkyard with tools, leave junkyard $50 poorer and one 5 speed and driveshaft richer, install said transmission (may need to shorten diveshaft to fit), shift_5th.
  13. OR you can convert your engine to a turbo with a 280zx turbo manifold, a turbo (holset HY35 ), modify the oil pan a little, and some other little parts.
  14. Bob Sharp Turbo Honda or 2.3 Rustang?
  15. Tony... check out the grill that we made in welding school to help us buy more steel... It was CNC plasma cut out(of 1/4" steel!) and then we welded it together with MIG and then flux core for the thicker stuff. I TIG'd some of the handles on. It weighed about as much as an LD28 with tranny!!! Just testing it out on the last day of class for the quarter to make sure it works before the customer picked it up... And our welding "coach" working the grill...
  16. Thanks guys! I'll probably just rhino-line my Frontier's bed then and keep it for daily driving and junkyard rescues... Maybe something like an F150 with a F250 drivetrain... I'd definitely like to keep a "smaller" body with the heavy duty drivetrain. OTM
  17. Well my Frontier isn't the small version... I have a crew cab, short bed, tall suspension 2x4 version. I'm going to beef up the rear suspension with some stiffer springs and go spring over axle. The front will either get a solid axle or some custom control arms that I'd make up to mount some stock 4x4 spindles and convert to coilovers from the torsion bars. I'm not worried about doing these mods once the warranty ends and I have all the equipment to do it. I'll start with just the rear end with the flatbed and other equipment.
  18. There is no difference between the N/A and the TT tranny.
  19. I just found a 2003 LS1/T56 for $3200 and you come pick it up here. OTM (a little far for Mario though... could ship...)
  20. no... it was on Ebay a while back. I think the turbo was swiss made.
  21. Mario was running twice pipes... I am running a 2.5" from a header to a turbo muffler with the packing mostly blown out. My Videos Still fighting some ignition/timing problems though... It used to be a lot quieter before I started getting the backfiring problems. Maybe add a bullet muffler after the collector would aid in quieting it down along with a flowmaster or similar muffler. (my electric fan makes more noise than my valvetrain! way to go on a valve adjustment!)
  22. Are you running A/C? Not sure about what could be making that turbo noise...
  23. Hey Larry... You posted a bad link. Go with a Holset turbo. Designed for a diesel so the thrust bearings are very durable. Plus it bolts up to your stock manifold with no problems and flows better than the stock T3... (I can get one for you cheap) OTM
  24. This thing weighed like 75 pounds and is HUGE. Like more than a foot across!! What is up with this exhaust housing? Double input exhaust housing? How could that SPIN the turbine?!?!?!?!?!
