  1. HAHA... ^^^^^that's root beer BTW...lol
  2. sweet wheel!!!! looks alien designed with the polished metal behind it!!
  3. Let me tell you...Mike's motor is going to look SICK with ALL of those parts he has done in green and with the black block...Yumm!!Think Xbox...
  4. oh yeah it does... Now I feel bad about the cam cover looking so ugly...Maybe I'll pull it off and polish it. I don't think too much on a motor shoud be powdercoated...It should be mixed with some shiny/polished parts as well as a nice set of powdercoated parts. My motor will have plenty of powdercoated parts on it for sure along with a polished cylinder head...
  5. I have seen a set of clean ones go for like $300 over on Zcar.com... Most of the people on here are more than happy to get rid of theirs.... I have a pretty good set of them. I don't know if I want to sell just yet though.
  6. Yasin: It is a 1986 944 turbo (not the Turbo S) with all the luxuries like A/C and power everything. The only mod is bilstein shocks which are rock hard (ouch on the kidneys). They were already on the car and were brand new. The turbo has been replaced with a new stock one right before we bought it ($2,000!!!). Half of that was probably in removing the intake...lol. Not fun I think it took 2 hours for me and my Dad to remove that intake the other day...
  7. Lol big-phil... It is soo hard to find L28s around here...And that is just what I need now... Mike and I were sure able to talk Zs...both of ours have the motor out and are inoperable...lol. I am a just a bit behind on bodywork though:-D. Well maybe a Lot. Hopefully Mike will have his motor ready soon so we can put his Z back together... Motor party!!
  8. No problem, I had fun too. Dad liked it a lot...now we just have to get the car back together with all those hoses 8-0 . Zs are WAAAAY simpler than 80's Porsches...
  9. Thanks guys! Mike really did a good job with the powdercoating. The Aluminum has a lot of texture to it so the texture shows. The shinyness is great though! I can't wait to get the Porsche back together. I haven't driven a sportscar in several months. This one pushes 1-1.1 bars of boost...That is like 15psi! Stock! I heard Dad talking about some bigger turbo that made 600hp...I said just get new turbine and compressor wheels to lower the lag (3200RPMs) and get a manual boost controller. We had the intake out to replace the stock boost controller thingy...I don't know all what it does but this part had vacuum/boost hoses from before the turbo, after the turbo, and one going to the stock external wastegate. It was called an idle control valve? Anyway we should be getting the car back together this weekend with new hoses. BTW check out these vette brakes Mike was doing when I got there. Metalflake red Vette calipers...Very cool The photo does not do the metalflake justice at all...
  10. Today I went over to 2003z's (mike) place for a couple hours and powdercoated the intake for my Dad's 944Turbo for his christmas. I used the parts cleaner and cleaned out the runners (nasty!). Then I sandblasted the whole intake. It looked really nice with the strange German alloy of aluminum all cleaned up. The 944 up at ZdayZ back in May: intake before cleaning: After I used the parts cleaner: After I sandblasted it: masked and ready to go: After Mike powdercoated it: after baking: Set in place: It does not look like a match in the photo but that is because the engine bay is sorta dirty. It is actually VERY close to the body color. So close that you can't really tell a difference... I think it looks great and My Dad will love it when he comes home tonight. I highly recommend www.thepowdercoater.com to anyone that wants to get brakes, valve covers or anything else powdercoated. Thanks Mike!!
  11. Hmm... I have some manifold designs I made a while back. I am looking at building one once I finish my Longblock(could be quite a while). I'll se if I can find them. I just put this motor in last week...it is a true barn find! I am sorta worried about the power though. I broke a motor mount from just cranking this baby up...It pushes 50lbs of boost right above idle...
  12. oh yeah... I guess between school and breaking my jaw I forgot... Oops... I'll check into it for you another pantera
  13. naawww dude... This guy I know has a buddy that found this motor in a barn! He is picking up a bunch of junky corvette V8s with black plastic covers and red lettering as well... He got the whole lot for like $200! Here is a contribution to the thread...can't clutter it up with too many words... Lotus 19
  14. I'll stick with the motor in my sig and my Z...
  15. that, my dear friend, is the sound that a Z deserves.
  16. wowzers there batman!!! That motor is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!
  17. which should give you like 210-220hp...
  18. L26 with roundtop SUs and header 225mm Spec stage 2+ clutch kit with their 11lb flywheel. It is the highest rated clutch with a full organic disc. I love the engagement of the clutch. It is very crisp and SLIGHTLY heavier than stock pedal. (Stock was so weak you could hardly feel the clutch point) Great clutch for daily use. I have seen Powerful Turbo Zs that have ripped Spec clutches apart but I think for a N/A Z the stage 2+ is plenty for the hottest N/A motor. It is rated to 265hp.
  19. Where is P-town? Here in Atlanta the smog exemptment is 25 years old...That is any first gen Z and some second-gen Zs. First gen Zs(70-78) are way lighter and better looking IMO.
  20. http://www.stu-offroad.com/misc/scat/scat-1.htm Here is a page about the V4 and this one is supercharged!
