  1. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=111606 here is the sequential turbo thread I have been posting in. I have had this idea about sequential turbos since I saw it on a truck engine. There are still a bunch of bugs with this system idea that I am trying to work out. This should give some low end boost and then revert to the bigger turbo for higher boost in the upper RPM range. This should give the HP benefits of a big turbo but also give low end boost as well. It will have good power and have it for 5k+ rpms of the 7k RPM lmit.
  2. I am looking to build a motor with a flat power curve so I can make use of the turbo. Let's roleplay: Lets say you have an engine that has 1000 horsepower for 500rpm of the power range. 6500-7000rpm power range and boost hits really late. Will a car with 500 horsepower and a 4500 rpm long power range be faster or slower? If you have a sweetly setup automatic tranny and drag race the car then the first setup would be fine. If you are road racing the car with a manual tranny the second motor would probably be faster around the track. Just my $.02
  3. Haha...lol ...you really are supposed to stay off of religious topics here.
  4. what program did you use? I just use windows movie maker. It came with windows XP...
  5. All I can say is...WOW!!! great design!!! The primaries look a little long for a turbo header but the design is incredible!!!
  6. maybe our speedos are Japanese Miles Per Hour...lol 6500 in 4th is as high as I wanted to go on my motor...
  7. Oh well...I guess we will NEVER know Ron...You just do all this cool stuff and then don't tell us about it...
  8. Very true there TonyD. I think the limit for a stock S30 with *LIGHT* motor mods is around 115-120. When I went that fast my speedo was reading 140mph...lol nowhere near close.
  9. you could...but it is messy. If all you have is a stick welder then go for it! Just don't blow through.
  10. sweetness... looks like that is part of a blueprint for a sweet billet intake... But that is just me
  11. WBo2 would be best...but they are pricey... Most people don't use any sensors to turn their SUs. Just a manual AFM that you hold over the open carb.
  12. dude that second photo rocks!!! and what the hay are you doing for a radiator!?!?!
  13. These are bolted onto the bottom of the hood. $30 from your local auto parts store and no cutting or anything. Just a few fender washers. Big-Phil has what you are looking for I think.
  14. eppy: with a few bushings(which aren't too hard to replace), coilover springs and aftermarket struts you can have a Z that will hadle up there with modern vettes and other high end cars. I have put about $1000 into my suspension and is height adjustable and the struts have adjustable stiffness with stiff polyurethane bushings. What rontyler posted was a 240z/260z/280z bodystyle. This is a 280zx below. I have a 1974 260z and like it's body better than the 280ZX and 300zx 1980s cars. Notice the difference in quarter windows. First generation Z cars have more flowing lines than the ZX cars. The easiest thing to see the difference with is the triangle quarter windows of the 280zx and 300zx of the 80's. If it is a 240z/260z/280z it will have the up curved quarter window
  15. My neighbor owns a business doing vynil graphics... He had panel van that he was removing the graphics from. He used one of those propane powered tornado massive flame heater things and put it like 3 feet from the side of the van and after it being there for 20 minutes he started peeling it off. It only took about 3-4 heatings to finish. Who knows what this would do to your car though.
  16. Yes. You are correct. Probably the biggest one you can find...not afford...find. Maybe one of those HKS ones. I have been thinking about a custom one using an actuator from a regular wastegate but not using a valve: use a butterfly valve with a good seal. And yes 400++ hp from this turbo setup with very little lag. boost from ~2500 There are plenty of guys making 500 hp but you don't have that power for very long in the power band. A 400hp turbo motor that boosts for 4000 rpms should be faster than a 600hp motor that boosts for 2000 rpms. The higher horsepower motor would be good for drag racing with a good auto tranny but for a road racing/rally/autox you want a really wide power band and long gears. I hope to get started on my motor build this summer and use this type of turbo setup. Of course I won't be boosting much at first. It will take a little time to get the boost up and get the turbos and EFI tuned together.
  17. Oh missed your other question. All the air being compressed through the high pressure turbo should help spool the low pressure turbo. The bypass valve could have air pulled from a seperate filter if routing it back into the main intake line would be too difficult.
  18. Look at the newest hyundai SUV thing. They have a metallic blue that is just outstanding!!! I think it is the "Santa Fe" that had the color in 2001
  19. Naw...I saw that japanese Z vid with all of those dragracing Zs with wierd cut-off rear ends. That was way before we started doing those sketches...but your group B does look SWEET on the rear end and gave inspiration!. You definitely helped though...
  20. I am concerned about you BRAAP... Too much rootbeer tonight?
  21. here some Pics I got today..All of these were while driving... sunrise: sunset: It was a long day driving around...
