  2. Just insured my car and drove for like 15 minutes then all of a sudden a big backfire out the exhaust and its dead. Havent had time to diagnose much yet, has gas, fuel pump runs, injectors fire and it has spark. Stock turbo 82 just did hei conversion since it broke down last time. Any ideas? It sort of fires as if the ignition is super retarded ran at like 100 rpm. Any ideas?

  5. I would run it for a week or two then change it and run a little bit in with each oil change 1/4 jug or so, 15-50 might be a liitle thick at startup contributing to the problem, i havent run any thicker oils though so im no expert
  6. That is 99% a bad lifter/s try running a quart of ATF in the oil, sludge etc can cause this and atf Has a lot of detergents in it. If that doesnt work you need to find some lifters or a solid p90 head. I have cured 2 cars start up knocks with atf. Usually a day or two and its fixed

Can see all tires from inside the cab! Sold it for 400 bucks. Then bought it back a couple years later and drove it till tje shock towers poped through the hood! Always said id get another one if i found one and a couple years later i traded my car for an 82 turbo which i converted to a 5 speed and am in the process of restoring and making it fast
  11. Those symptom sound like theres no vacuum id start under the hood, the manual has diagrams. The originals are color coded so you want to map it out and get it working then change the rotten lines out. Its pretty confusing but once you decide which part the "vacuum transducer" etc etc is its not to bad
