  1. Jim, I remember that post. If I'm correct John Coffey chimed in about the bumpsteer spacers and pivot relocation. He said that you should only do one, not both. John, if you see this, could you refresh our minds about bumpsteer modifications? !M!
  2. With your subject heading "whats in my parking structure tonight?" One would think that you may live in an apartment and you have to park in a parking structure. You can take pictures of whatever you want nobody is stopping you, my point was some people don't like the location of thier car advertised. Seeing as how it's at a bank and not a residence, I'm sorry. I just gave a nice heads up is all. !M!
  3. David, Just a heads up... Some guys don't want their car advertised on the internet, especially since you give a location. Very easy to find you and that car. All it takes is the right person to see this and make a few calls. Sure it's out in the open for you to photograph, but the net is a bigger audience. Maybe edit out where it is. It's a very nice car, don't want to see it get ripped off. !M!
  4. Something I found, hope it's okay to post it. Thought it was a funny parody of Eminem's Slim Shaddy. Hi my name is Hi! My name is (who?)... My name is (what)... My name is (scratches)... Rice Burner! Hi kids, do you like 5 inch tips?, Wanna see me stick chrome fender flares over each one of my Konigs? Wanna follow me and do exactly as I did?, Try NAWS and get your motor **** up worse then my life is? My brain's dead weight, I'm trying to get my head straight, but I can't figure out which sticker to put over my license plate. And the mechanic says "Rice Burner you's a crack head "Nu-uh" "Then why's your car dead man its wasted " Well since age 9 I've wanted an SI so I could put chrome 18's on it and make it run 16.9's. Got pissed off and ripped all my Honda emblems off, And replaced them with "R" badges so people know I'm not soft. I smoke a big bowl of chronic, and lay in my lawn, for longer then it took me to put my altezzas on. "Come here bastard" "Dude , wait a minute that’s a viper dawg!!" I don't give a F***, I’ll just fly by and put my hazards on!!!!! !M!
  5. I spent 8 seconds staring at a stupid picture. !M!
  6. I had the e-brake set on the Ford and the Chevy started to drag it !M!
  7. Wow, that was quick! I really appreciate that Tim, thanks . !M!
  8. Tim, I forgot to mention your Z is looking really good! If you think about it and have some time on your hands, a couple shots of your brackets would be great. No rush though, I don't have the bumpers yet. Thanks Tim !M!
  9. Ah... thanks? (it sounds funny when you don't have the full story ) That picture with the heading, "If you have to go to these extreme's, just go to the junk yard and get yourself a new one", should be added to the FAQ page. !M!
  10. John, that newbie page on corner-carvers is awsome! It would be great if we could incorporate a page similar to that one and Jerimio's FAQ page. We will have to add more to the FAQ page, but that shouldn't take to much work. What do you guys think? Maybe with corner-carvers permission, we could use thier words since it's already been written so well? !M!
  11. Tim, That's exactly what I want to do with my front bumper. I'm going to get the 'glass front and rear bumpers from MSA. I want to mount them closer to the body, but haven't looked at how to do it yet. Can you explain how you mounted the front bumper close to the body? !M!
  12. At least you didn't have to try and pull the cartridge out by using two full size pickup trucks. I have a picture of it if you want a good laugh. Oh yeah, the cartridge won !M!
  13. Moridin2004, here's that company that specializes in Northstar engines. http://www.chrfab.com/index.htm !M!
  14. Blah... still a inliner. As much fun as the car is to drive, the header that is on it has so many holes and rust that I can't weld them up anymore, so it just gets louder and not as much fun after a while. Can't wait for the GN engine to go in it's place. It feels like I will never have that damn engine in my Z. I'm a patient person, but I want power NOW! ...lol Like just yesterday, I took a buddy for a ride and this Nissan Sentra Spec-V pulls along side and compliments, then asks if it's fast, that's when I have to say, "nah, not quick at all." You know it would be fun to be like, "no it's not quick" and pull away with the turbo whistling then hit the brakes and let them catch up to see the look on thier face, but that will have to wait. Guy, here is Da Grove's web page: http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/ GLD (Great Lakes Dragaway a.k.a. Da Grove) is about 30 minutes south of Milwaukee in Racine. Get to 894 and follow it to the signs for the track. Get off the highway at the correct exit and take a right, then follow the road to the track, it's a straight shot. You can't miss it. What's funny is there has been a 240Z black with flames sitting at the gates to get in since I can remember. I think my Dad first took me there when I was 10 or 11, so the Z has been sitting there for at least 16-17 years! If you have time, you should bring your Z down for some 1320 runs. The crowd would love it. Just look at the schedule on the GLD's web site to see when to go. Drop me a line if you decide you want to head down sometime. !M!
  15. What year/model are the parts cars you have access to? !M!
  16. That was great! I almost fell over when the guy started to dance !M!
  17. Jeromio strated one a while back... here it is, it's still up http://240z.jeromio.com/faqdraft/ !M!
  18. Well, a few buddies and I went to Da Grove to run our cars down the 1320 for fun. It was lights out night, so the timing lights were on, but nobody could see your time. Also, if you wanted, and quite a few did, was have a guy give you a few car lenghts for a fair race and a dude would wave a flag to start the race, just like street racing. It was cool driving with a few GN's down there and back and little 'ol me stuck trying to keep up with them. Got down there and HOLY CRAP there was a ton of cars there! Announcer said there was over 400 cars racing last night. I got to run a brand new 350Z for a feature race for the crowd, which was horrible, I got waxed by him. My buddy in his '87 GN got to run against a '03 Viper and had a car length on him before the Viper got out of first gear, we got it on video and the crowd went NUTS! There was 2 late model 911 turbo's there, one guy was from New York . Probably the neatest car that had peoples undies in a bundle was a brand spanking new Astin Martin Vantage (sp?). Car was awsome in person (you should have seen his girlfriend... holy knockers!) There was a mid '80's LS1 powered RX-7 that was pretty cool. There was a crap load of other cars, but nothing out of the ordinary. The announcer was making fun of all the Fords down there because 3 Mustangs broke down in the staging lanes and puked fluids all over the place, it was great. Had a lot of fun this time for some reason, probably because there was so many people. I have to say that the next time I go to the track with my car, it will be crossing the traps going 4-5 seconds faster. Best I could run was a 16 flat. On the street, my Kumho supra 712's stick really good, but at the track it was like I was on slime. I adjusted the 5-ways #5 in front and #1 in the rear, but still didn't hook. Tried going dry on the launch but just spun through first, second and a little on third. Tried heating them up... wasn't a good idea, I was on and off the throttle trying to keep it going straight. I know that these tires hold well on the street, but I'm now having slight doubts that I won't hit mid 11's with these tires. I wanted to be able to drive to the track, run 11's and drive back without touching the car, but now I think I'm going to have to get some DR's for the stock wheels. Oh well, we will see. !M!
  19. Those little rubber plugs? ... if you don't have the plugs then water should drain out of the hole, but you should really try to find where the water is coming in from. !M!
  20. I went from a very old Milwaukee to a Porter-Cable Tiger Saw. Holy cow is that saw nice! Always had to use the allen wrench to change blades and with the "quick change", blade changes are VERY SIMPLE! Awsome feature. Also, with 9.6 amps, if you get that sucker stuck, you're going to ring your bell . Very nice tool, highly recomend it. Been using it for about 2 years now with only the quick change getting gummed up with crud, just have to oil it every now and then. Next tool is a cordless one for small jobs. !M!
  21. Hey Bill, looks good! Make sure you don't get that temp. plate wet, they fall apart. !M!
  22. Yup, from what I understand just swap everything over. Simply unbolt the strut assemblies and bolt them onto your 240Z. Coilovers allow you to choose your ride height. The 280Z isolators are a bit taller, so just lower your car to your liking if you have the room for adjustment, otherwise as said above, just use your 240Z isolators (the things that are on the very top of the strut assembly with the three studs sticking from the top of them) to bring your car back down. If you're worried about running out of adjustment for some reason, you can grind off the spring perch and reweld it an inch or so lower. Don't see why you would have to do that though. Get yourself a factory service manual (if you have not done so) to see how everything comes apart. It's pretty easy. !M!

    Breakfast

Oatmeal with a touch of brown sugar everyday. Made the same way my Grandma made it for me many years ago. Now I find out this may be the reason my cholestorol (sp?) is so low. The upside to eating oatmeal, is it keeps you full untill lunch, no need for a snack break. !M!
