  1. I saw these SS manifols on Ebay a few times and was wondering if anyone had ever used them before? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Skyline-GTR-RB26DETT-Turbo-Exhaust-Manifold_W0QQitemZ8032819270QQcategoryZ33632QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem They look like they keep the turbos mounted in the stock location, which is what I want. Most if not all of the Manifolds that I've seen mount them up high.
  2. A little update on this swap. I have a current draw in the system. I think it's with the voltmeter since when I disconnected it there was no problem. I'm going to connect the meter to a new source, and see if that will fix it. Now it's running through the shunt.
  3. I'm far from an expert here, but If all the wiring is correct I would check 2 more things; 1) Is the Ign Relay sending power to the coils? (not the same as getting power) 2) Is the Power Tans getting signal from the ECU? (I don't think that it should be getting warm) If 1&2 are good I would swap out the Transistor. But I would PM someone like Q(240Z Master) or JT.
  4. The A/Z hangs a bit on the low side, did you use the 240SX version of the Griff. Rad? Stony is that 2.5" I/C pipe your using?
  5. I'd love to see a few pics of that. What did it run you? And which model di you go with?
  6. You guys in CA are spoiled. All the shops in your state.
  7. OK, so the Skyline Rad is going to be to wide to put into my Z. That sucks!! What Rad are you guys using, and did it need custom work to fit into an RB Z?
  8. How do I get a copy of that? As I get closer to doing this, I'm left wondering about stock replacment parts. Like oil filters, ect.... I'm also getting a Tranny from a RB25, and JT just told me that a few of the sensors are busted. Z32 sensors should bolt in, but what about other things that I would need to replace over the years, that will be stock parts. It would be nice to know that there are a few parts in the US that I can use.
  9. I changed it over to a ZX alt already with an internal reg. I have a post on it in the Elec section. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=106163
  10. Hey Q, How are you comming along with your mounts?
  11. That looks like a really well made shaft. Is it Al or steel?
  12. Most people change their framerails because they're rusty. If your rails are good, just put in some subframe connecters.
  13. I don't want to sound like a tart here, but I'll ask anyway. Why is the oil filter so high up on this clip? This this some pereformance upgrade?
  14. It screws in, so unscrew it put some tape on the threads, and screw it back in until it's tight & it's pointing in the right direction. The water for the heater comes out of the tap (the one disscused above) Into the heater and back to the 3 way connector and then to the W/P inlet.
  15. Lucky for me NJ is not as tough as Cali. As long as I keep it registered as a Collector Car I can drive it up to 5K miles a yr. And there's no kind of inspection. All they do is check the Od, to make sure the miles aren't to high. I'm planning on running a EGT Gauge, but I want'ed to make sure the ECU would still work properly with out the Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor Switching Module. I know that if I where running a Stand Alone I could disconnect a lot of the sensors. But since I will be useing the stock one for awhile, I want to make sure it will still work. This will be the first time that I start playing with ECU and Turbo's. I've always stuck with Carbs in my other Hi-PO upgrades. So for now I just want to make I can get the engine running right, and then I'll bombard you guys later on the right way to "upgrade" this motor.
  16. I thought I might bring this thread back from the dead. It is a very interesting read, and Mike just about wrote a book on one post.
  17. I had a feeling it was you. Did you ever find out what Make/Model car that was ment for? My parts store can't use those #'s.
  18. On the S30 the Man & auto tranny's used the same mounting position. The Change came in 73. (Early or late I don't know) I think it had more to do with comfort than saftey laws.
  19. I think his mounts are around $300 or 350. Q (240Z Master) also has a set of mounts that he is working on.
  20. I know that someone posted some different insulators that can be used, instead of the expensive Supra mounts. I think is was under $10 each, but I can seem to find the thread it was posted on. Anyone know what they where? Thanks
  21. I thought that you would put the BOV or Recirc valve before the throttle plate, and then route the extra air in front of the turbo.
  22. New fuel line is not that expensive, and you can up the size of the lines for better flow. Also over the years there will be varnish build up in the lines.
  23. I wanted to add a few comments to this old thread. A BOV is deffinatly a neccesity when it comes to turbo charged motors. But should they be recirculated back to the turbos intake? Sure your going to loose the "cool" sound, but won't it help your turbo/s spool back up faster.
