  1. Wow, that is some of the worst welding I've ever seen. It looks like the top of it was merely tacked in (and particularly badly), no wonder it separated and tore the tower apart. I would sue the crap out of the shop that did that, I would say the rate of the shocks and springs is irrelevant because it's obvious the welding failed due to the workmanship being poor quality and downright dangerous. Even if the original suspension was on the car that weld would almost certainly have failed in the same way eventually.
  2. eh ignore me, I got my S30s mixed up with my HS30s It looks in good nick from the photos but of course you can never really tell until you've had a poke around. I wouldn't wait around too long, seems like a very good price.
  3. The VIN suggests it's a '72 model that would have originally had the L20 engine. Maybe it was imported in 1974? Does it have the 240z style rear lights or the 280z style? If it's the 280z style then I don't know what's going on.
  4. The yellow wire goes to the intermittent wiper relay, but if the original harness has been removed then I would guess that's not there any more either!
  5. When I did my floors and framerails I used four jackstands and also a bottle jack under the transmission mount to support the tunnel sheet metal, then did one side at a time to reduce the chance of things moving about.
  6. The struts will only destroy themselves internally if there is no bump stop as they bottom out internally. The progressive bumpstops should be more than adequate, a lot of people cut them in half to gain more shock travel. What settings do you have your shocks set to? Try turning them down if the ride is too harsh. Are you using solid top mounts or camber plates?
  7. Rota RK-R 17x8.5 -10et front ---- 225/45 17x9.5 -20et rear ---- 245/40
  8. I don't want to be negative, but your ZG flares appear to be mounted on the wrong side of the car, ie. you have the lefts on the right hand side.
  9. Mine had a single slit, I put them in with the rack off the car so it wasn't difficult at all. I think you might have a bit more difficulty with the left (driver's side) bushing with the rack on the car.
  10. I made a diagram of some chassis leg measurements when I was doing repairs, it doesn't have the measurement you're looking for unfortunately but the other info might be of use:
  11. I installed some G-machine bushings and they needed no modification, just a lot of grease!
  12. I suppose it would, but it sounds like it would be more complicated than fixing whichever part is busted!
  13. Wouldn't it be better to take a look under the car and see what is broken first? You never know, it might be something really easy to fix.
  14. Thing is, you'll never get that much caster adjustment at the strut top because of the lack of space between the spring top hat and the inside of the tower .
  15. Have you checked the turn signal / combination switch on the steering column for shorts to ground yet? if my Hazard switch is turned to Turn signal switch ON position, all of the relays in my car pulse if I turn the switch to the Hazards, everything goes back to normal and Hazards flash I'm still confused, so when the hazard switch is OFF the relays turn on and off? If so then yes, there is a short circuit on the turn signal circuit somewhere and I agree with NewZed that replacing the hazard switch may have created a new problem whereby the turn signal flasher is now activated with the ignition off and the turn signal switch in the central position (ie. the new hazard switch is wired wrong and you also have a separate short on the turn signal circuit)
  16. The turn signal flasher unit does not receive power when the ignition is in the off position, but the hazard flasher unit does. Are you sure you bought the correct type of switch for the hazard warning lights? It's a pretty complicated switch as the turn signal circuit also runs through it. When you say all your relays are pulsing, I take it you mean switching on and off? Are you sure it's all of them., ie. do the wipers move and does the horn beep as well? Do the hazard warning lights turn on and off like they are meant to? Until you narrow down exactly what is switching on and off I think it's going to be difficult to figure out from a circuit diagram where the problem is. Also you haven't mentioned yet what car you have.
  17. I'm not sure if all the relays are grounded to the relay bracket but if they are then it sounds like the flasher unit might be shorting to the bracket.
  18. The 432 spoiler has ridges on the leading edge, whereas the Victory spoiler is taller, leans back, and isn't as rounded on the top corners.
  19. The only way you're going to get an S30 hood with a colour weave is to ask someone who makes carbon hoods to see if they know where to get green weave and if they will do a one-off for you.
  20. Check your fuses; there is a fuse each for left and right and if one is blown then you get one dim and one bright headlight.
