  1. Why not swap out the gauge for something more modern ? I was going to use Prosport Evo Digital gauges(look them up) but decided to go with deporacing digital gauges.

    I put the wrong P/N for the speedo. I want the GR4-SPEEDO-06T instead in Black dial/ Red Fonts and Text "DATSUN". I has to be moved under the turn signals. SpeedHut list this one at $219.95 +$10 for text. I can't figure out how to send you a pic. Everytime I save it and try to post it it comes up as just the ring Bezel and blank in the center. Let me know, I'll get the speedo first if I don't have enough funds for the tach too.

    I guess I'm liking the idea of less wiring ! The price is right for a electronic gauge compared to Autometer and I get to customize it with wording !

  12. The stock battery area seems to be the best location for me too. Any issues with water or heat in that area ? 280ZCAR, your location is NICE ! I wish my harness would allow me to put mine inside at that location !
  13. Where did you guys mount your pcm and fuse box ? Pics would be nice if you have them. I just need idea's, my battery(braille type) will be mounted behind the passenger seat and I was thinking of putting the pcm where the stock battery goes mounted on the fire wall. Any help would is deeply appreciated.

  15. I've been looking for the axles for a while, if you decide to separate I'd be interested in just the axles. I already have the VLSD installed in my longnose R200 and the "shiro" axles make thing so much easier. I wouldn't have to make hybrid axles.
  16. I currently have VLSD carrier from a z32 NA installed in my R200 housing. I have the 5bolt stub axles installed but the shorter stub axle has to be shortened a little and a groove for the snap ring reground because it doesn't seat all the way because the carrier seats slight to the left inside the carrier with the spacers installed.

    STI R180 LSD ?

    I'm thinking I'll have to run a shortnose R200 or R230 ! I have a VLSD carrier from a shortnose in a longnose right now but I'm seriously thinking of scrapping it ang going with the shortnose and just buy the mount(I'll have to change my mustache again). But then I'm back to finding axles that will be strong enough and just pay the price for the hardened shafts.

    Your right ! I had a STi and I would at times dump the clutch at 4-5K rpms, but like you said its split. The front axles I believe plug right into the tranny itself !

    Thanks for the info guys, keep it coming ! I am most concerned about axles they can handle the power I will produce(550whp+) with a turbo LS1(Sunny Z has broken stuff with his NA LS1). I don't want to pay $1200 for axles but I know If I want to play I gotta pay.

    I must be mistaken about the Suby CV then, I thought they plugged into the diff like the z31t do. That way I would still have cv's. Even with that I know they probably would not hold up to my Turbo LS 4.8 that I have for my 260z.

    I wanted to ask the Diff guru's a question ! If I bought a Sti Diff with axles is it possibble to make hybrid CV axles by mating either the STi input shaft(plug into the Diff side) to a Z31t axle(or any other axle) or vice versa ? I don't know the specs of a STi axle but I do know the diff's are pretty strong. All this is just a thought !
