  1. I've seem to have misplace my driver side(Clam Shell) mount for my JCI LS1 mount kit! Does anyone know if its just a stock LS1 mount that I can buy anywhere or will John's Car sell me just the one mount ?
  2. I have a angle grinder(use all the time) and WLDT(but I don't use it much). I love my harbor freight tools(cause they haven't broken yet!). My 4.8 will be turboed(T76) so no need for headers that drop down to that area.
  3. I did what you suggested ! I trimmed a 1/4" off the front end and slotted the bolt hole. It sits flush now but it was still a pain to get the bolt holes drilled for the T/C end. I just realized what BFH means ! Too funny, especially since its my answer to all my car problems that I have !
  4. Alright man ! I appreciate the help. I did the typical guy thing when I first got it and NOT READ the instructions at all. I was trying to put the mount on the the outside of the original stock mount instead of inside. Obviously it wouldn't fit so I was pounded on it a little. I hope I didn't cause this, we'll see if it comes out good.
  5. I'm installing my JCI LS mounts for my 4.8 build but the driverside is giving me some fitment issue's. Every time I line the crossmember bolts up I am left with a gap on the JCI driverside mount. Could it be the my control arm bushing are wrong? The thick side goes in the front maybe ?
  6. Scratch the jtr v8 kit, its only for small block chevy's not LS based engines. JCI makes a kit for LS engines found here:http://www.brokenkitty.com/zcar/zcar.htm
  7. Wow, that is AWESOME ! My intentions are for fun with my build but I know one day I'll be looking for another project and I hope that mine will go(sale)in the same manners as yours. Now just waiting to see the twins one your current !
  8. Sounds sweet man ! Where in SoCal are you ? I'm up in the high desert(Victorville). I'm building a turbo LS 4.8 for my 260z. What diff are you running ? I'm in the process of doing a R200/VLSD swap. And I could use a little help/insight on making my stand alone harness/pcm. Hit me up !
  9. Man I've been selling stuff in my garage to afford stuff(old parts from my M3,integra, various other Honda's) and it still taking time. It'll all be worth it in the end though. I originally was going to drop in a Rb25det/RbZ32TT tranny. I had the tranny already but no engine. Then I started researching and found that it would be easier to get to my whp goal(550-650) with a LS1. Plus parts are not as easy to come by or as cheap when compared to a LS engine. I was trying to sell the 4.8 I'm using now(got from my dad) to get rb parts but after my the research I that both engines weigh roughly the same(a slightly heavier on the V8), So I convinced myself but now I need a t56(roughly the same amount for a RB engine). Rather then try and save up for a tranny I spent on suspension, drivetrain, brakes and fuel system(fuel cell, pump, braided lines, fittings). So its been a year now since the purchase of my 74' 260z($450)! Recycling plastic, cans, bottles has helped out too. Goodluck !
  10. Suscribed ! We're not that far from each other. I'm doing a LS Vortec 4.8 with a 76mm turbo strapped to it. I'm putting my engine together right now and trying to finish the rear suspension/diff. I still need a T56 and I need to do my wiring. I have the JCI engine mount kit but not the tranny mount yet. Good luck !
  11. I plan on using a T56(I don't have yet)for my GM 4.8L Turbo swap and I was wondering do I have to use electric Speedo gauge or can I use a mechanical ?
  12. They can give you 2 "one day" passes ! I went threw this when I was trying to get my M3 to pass smog !
  13. VIDEO ! VIDEO ! VIDEO ! Happy for you !

    Z31 Axle adapters

Yeah, I might have to bite the bullet and spend the cash. It just means a couple months of saving up and trips to the recycle my cans/plastic.
  16. Does anyone have any info on the adapter to use z31 turbo axles on my r200. I know MM has some but I'm not looking to pay $400+ for them and than have to wait 6months. I know CheckeredFlag makes some but they're nearly $400 too. Is there a alternative that someone has ? Can someone make some for me and my dad ?
  17. JCI or John's car ! Here's the link :http://www.johnscars.com/zcar.html
  18. Ls1Tech.com has plenty of info. Vortec engines are great for boost here's some info :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Vortec_engine ! I'm using a Vortec 4.8L for boost for my 260z ! Ton's of HP to be had from these engines. The aluminum blocks are great too but a lot of guys feel safer with the iron block plus you can pick them up cheap,$300-600 for a longblock.
  19. Sounds nice ! Now for some video of it driving and hitting boost !
  20. Looks very nice man ! Can't wait to see more video it running and boosting ! My Z has been really slow too !
