  1. Seems to me from the description so far, it could be either. OTM said his noise was coming from the bellhousing. You do not want either the pressure plate or flywheel coming loose! chris
  2. We ship UPS, FedEx, and international freight everyday at work. I was called on the carpet by UPS because we attempted to ship "hazardous material" without the proper credentials. There was no hasmat, we simply re-used a box that originally contained flares and still had the markings on the outside of the box! They were not amused that the box contained a part for a boat and was shipped to me in the very same box by UPS. I merely returned it to our customer in the same box he shipped it to me in! chris
  3. Well, what do you know?...........bisexual turbo?????? chris
  4. You could try lying and misrepresenting your products. Always list them as "rare" and/or hard to get! Always shine everything up. Oh well, I haven't tried that but it seems to work for some. chris
  5. For your oil takeoff: http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/product/OTODK Hope this helps, one of my old honda places. chris
  6. Not intended as a hijack but, another impressive hybrid: http://honda-tech.com/zerothread/981613 This guy should be building Z cars! chris
  7. Does this mean that you've abandoned your quest to control boost with megasquirt? I was hoping to see a success story. chris
  8. Welding combustion chambers was done quite a bit back in the day to reshape combustion chamber profile, modify squish, adjust compression ratio on race engines. The "How to Modify Datsun & Nissan OHC Engines" book touches on this. Welding can also be used for repair. Others may want to chime in with more specific info. chris
  9. Check the Holset web site. They post all sorts of info on theit turbo's including service manuals that can be downloaded. I got info for the HE351 that I got off eBay. chris
  10. Sad tale but true, one of the by products of becoming a "service" oriented economy. Our skilled tradesmen have all had their jobs outscorced. I'll shut up now before becoming political! chris
  11. "How To Rebuild Your Nissan & Datsun OHC Engine" by Tom Monroe "How To Modify Your Hissan & Datsun Engine" by Frank Honsowentz Just happened to have both handy. chris
  12. My build plans are similar, stock non shaved P90 w/flattops and holset. Remember that the evo's and other modern turbo motors have 4 valves, cross flow with some form of pent roof combustion chamber. This setup is more resistant to detnation (spelling) than our older design. What I'm trying to say is that just because they can do it at 9:1 doesn't mean we can. chris
  13. [steps out of closet].........the CRX is a fun car to drive..........would also like to point out, mine has not a single sticker and normal 15" wheels.......[/back into closet] chris
  14. Even more amazing considering it was built without the aid of computer design, models, and all the design/manufacturing software we take for granted. My favorite, A10 Warthog. Built for close in combat, extremely maneuverable, quick, big gun, it's not called the tank killer for nothing. It can also stay in the air minus one engine, half a wing shot off, and with sections of the horiz and vert stabilizers gone. It also has armor for the pilot. chris
  15. Same here!!! Charlie does have first quality stuff. Worth the wait IMO. chris
  16. You might also want to search for "turbo tom". Very old school turbo setups. Oh, and, Welcome! chris
  17. Dave is currently out of stock. This is an email I received from him: I will restock them, price will be little changed, I'm taking suggestions on what bore/ rod people want.......let me know. Dave You should email him with your request. chris
  18. Evil: Please post when you find pistons! I'm in need as well. Not willing to drop a grand for pistons to go in my $50 shortblock! TimZ: I've looked at your sig several times and scratched my head: Frank Zappa??????
  19. If it's M12x1.5 forsure: http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecId=5055 FWIW, these guys got lots'a good odd stuff. chris
  20. Thought about driving down tomorrow. Just wondered if anybody knows of anyone selling Z parts there. For those not local, the autofair is a large swapmeet at Lowes Speedway near Charlotte NC. chris
  21. On second (third or so) thought, why even use a can if you are routing to the exhaust? The reason for the can is to keep the oily residue out of the intake tract. If you are running a cat, you might run into problems with oil in the cat.........but........questions, questions...... chris
  22. There was another post that I couldn't find but the essence is to use a filter on the valvecover, plumb the existing PCV collection point on the drivers side front of the motor to the catch can. PCV/check valve in the top of the catch can routed to vacuum scource. (slash cut in turbo inlet or exhaust) FWIW, oily residue in the intake track will somewhat lower deatonation threshold in a boosted engine. Ref. theoldone.com (Endyn) HTH chris I have a sketch on my hardrive at home. I will post when I get home tonite.
  23. A good read about PCV systems and boosted applications http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1199935 HTH chris
  24. Use one of these http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/product/OTODK with some AN4 line and fittings and make your own oiling kit. This fitting goes between the stock oil pressure sensor and block. It has correct BSPT threads and the output on the sides of the fitting are 1/8 NPT. HTH chris
