  1. DAW, have you looked into how much of an over bore the LD motor will take? Ive mildly been hunting for a LD block to play with, the last one I saw was left at the junkyard after I pulled the crank. I remember reading the posts about turing the LD motor to gas, but it was after that block was LONG gone. Oh well, sure another one will show up someday.....
  2. My car is doing the same thing now. Problem is I KNOW its my vavle seals cause im not running the turbo on my car right now Same thing, I think I have about 6k miles since rebuild. Just another thing to do this winter
  3. I hadnt been thinking of building a motor like that, but I had thought about the rod to stroke ratio thing. My idea would be to run the 144 L24 rods on a L28 crank. The Z31 turbo pistons use the same size wrist pin but with a 10-12mm higher wrist pin (I think I dont have an extra L28 turbo piston to compair) The bore on the Z31t is 88mm, which would give you both a better rod to stroke ratio and a little displacement. Ill get my Z31 piston out later and measure it. HTH ~Kenny
  4. What kind of HP and spoolup would you guys expect from that turbo? I think im in the same boat as toplessZ wanting a mild upgrade.
  5. Look, I used the search and came up with the answer within 4 topics. : http://hybridz.org/nuke/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=7630&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=280zx+toyota Hopefully that link works.
  6. Im running an Audi fuel pump from a 85-87 4000 quattro, or 88-92 80/90 quattro. Its a bosch unit and has supported 400hp in some crazy audi turbo projects on other boards I am on. It has a 1/2" inlet and a 12mm threaded outlet. I ran a 12x1.5 to 6-an adapter to make it run in my fuel system. Its totally quite and has been reliable so far.
  7. Altima 5-speeds are 55mm, Automatics are 60mm. Chances are the only difference in the altima TB (or any KA24DE) is the shaft size. For the Z linkage to fit onto it, you have to dremel out the linkage a bit. HTH ~Kenny
  8. This should get stickied on here, thats alot of info!
  9. Here is mine, waiting on some new rims and a 5 lug swap (maybe a paint job this winter too!)
  10. Goin a little offtopic here: Doug, how much HP does your car make?
  11. EBAY!!! I found a few different people/companies selling different sized couplers/reducers on Ebay. HTH
  12. I usually get around $60 for those on Ebay. I sell the throttle bodies already modded when I find the 240sx ones at the JY.
  13. That one is from an SR20 (nx2000, sentra SER) The TPS will work, Im running one on my car right now. the onlything that may be odd about that throttle body is the shaft size. You would have to dremel out the stock linkage to the propper size to make it fit over the shaft.
  14. you are looking for one with the single cam KA24E. It should be in 88's and 89's. The ones without cruise control are the best ones to get, you dont have to do any cutting, threading, or any other tricky mods.
  15. Z32 300zx's have two T25's I think. Either way, its a twin turbo and the same displacement as youve got now.
  16. Ive heard the downpipe will be "close" to the steering shaft. you may need to move one or the other. Good luck, and keep us posted!!
  17. Im going to be doing the 5-lug thing soon as well. I am running a 280z. I will be using the 300zx front rotor with a spacer (1.4" from what I measured) I will be using the toyota 4runner 4 piston calipers. On the rear, it looks like my only option is going to be the rear hubs, and brackets from modern motorsport. They use the 300zx rear rotor and a 240sx caliper. I think this is the easiest way to make the rear 5 lug. Plus they have a kit with all the hardware and ebrake cable stuff. After much research, this is what is best for me right now. Hopefully others will chime in with thier thoughts.
  18. Austin, Have you had your car dyno tuned, or has it just been you messing around with the SDS (oh man I hope you actually have SDS, I cant remember for sure) Ive found with mine, having been screwing around with the SDS myself, its driveable, but not as good as I know it can be. I havent had any warm up problems or driveability problems with the SDS. Its funny that you compare driveability to a 325i. We have one here and I cant stand the power delivery on it. I find it hard to drive in normal traffic as it makes no torque. it revs out nicely but thats only fun when no one is around. I guess my vote would be to get your car dyno tuned. If it already has been.... then I guess you should do an RB swap
  19. wow, I cant wait to see and hear vids of that thing!!! Great work as always!
  20. nice, I think it looks good. A question for you. What did you use on the back to change to five lug? Ive got the Z31 front hubs already but havent found info on the rears. LAter! ~Kenny
  21. Four years ago I ran a turbo on my 75 NA motor, NA electrics, NA AFM, and a rising rate FPR. It was non-intercooled and I broke 4 ringlands within 2500 miles of 7-9 psi boosting. I would say just do the turbo swap and run megasquirt & spark, but that is just my advise. ~Kenny
