  1. You may want to check this out, http://www.terrysjag.com/show/pic10.jpg
  2. Check out this carbon fiber RX7 on ebay. I thought the front struts were interesting, there has been a lot of talk around here lately on bracing of the front strut towers. It seems to have very little bracing (maybe because it is under 2000lbs:shock:) Check it out, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda-RX7-Race-Car-Carbon-Fiber-Fast-Turbo_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ98064QQhashZitem270036672682QQihZ017QQitemZ270036672682QQrdZ1
  3. Mike, The only way I know to convert a SBC to EDIS is with a megasquirt (which is what I am doing) But, A little digging on the net gave me these.. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=692496 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=MSD%2D8610&N=700+115&autoview=sku http://www.msdpromag.com/pdf/groundpath.pdf
  4. Bet you didn't get too far with 2 flat tires on the trailer!
  5. How about switch to EDIS-8 and slam that motor back
  6. not to thread jack too much, but how does the welded diff seem to effect cornering at speed?
  7. I Just happened to notice some inexpensive used dual master cyl and pedal sets on ebay searching for "tilton"
  8. You know what would be sweet a cosworth motor. That would be sweet but really expensive. There have been a few on ebay. Much like this one LINK
  9. I think I would rather spend the money/time to fabricate my own and end up with something that really fits well. Well, that is the plan anyway...
  10. I know some places in the petaluma/santa rosa area, is that too far?
  11. I got my car with louvered inspection lids on it. Did they ever come stock or are they an aftermarket piece? Thanks, Mike
  12. I was thinking about replacing my frame with some tubing and adding and adjustable t/c rod. Then I was thinking, why not just put 2 mounts on the frame and use a single triangulated a-arm that is adjustable on both legs? It seems you could get just as much adjustment out of an a-arm, is there are advantage to either design? What do you think?
  13. Exactly, I placed 4 single LED's around the gauge facing the front so they would reflect onto the face of the gauge evenly.
  14. If you are going to "reface" your gauges just be sure to use UV stable ink (paper too?) because your typical inks will quickly deteriorate in the sun
  15. wow, http://www.superbrightleds.com sells some really neat products. I think I will order some white LED's and some diffused 360deg blue LED's and do some more experimenting. Some more details on the the gauge lights pictured. The green is of course the stock lighting For the blue, I first removed the green lens then installed 4 super bright blue LED's (2600mcd, 468nm, 30deg) 2 on the left and 2 on the right as evenly as I could get them. I used 4 LED's just to keep the light as even as possible on the face of the gauge. I used a little dab of some good clear silicone to hold them in, which seems more then adequate. I then carefully routed the wires where they would be clear of the gauge's mechanical parts and out the original light bulb hole. This worked ok but when I do it for real I may drill holes and install snap in led holders. Also to help the light reflect on to the face I painted the back side of the front of the gauge with a quick shot of krylon gloss white. But I did that before any photos were taken so the picture of the stock green is after paint. Another thing to note is I am powering the gauge from a 12vdc power supply so it would be like the dimmer switch is on full blast. I was also toying with the idea of installing the LED's in sets of red, green, blue. Then wiring each color to its own dimmer switch. Then by adjusting each dimmer switch I could effectively change the gauge light color... maybe... kind of like what they have going on in the new mustang. But that is 3 times the parts and wiring.
  16. sort of reminds me of the old fire cracker in a open hand does nothing, in a closed hand is a world of pain.... sbc pipe bomb... yikes
  17. I am planning on upgrading my gauges while my dash is out, but funds are sort of low so I was thinking about an inexpensive way to improve the appearance of the stock gauges. (although it does nothing for their accuracy of course) I tried to get the shutter speed to accurately show what they look like, I had it cranked to get the stock lights to show up but then had to turn it down to keep the leds from looking like a super nova. Anyway what do you think? OLD NEW
  18. Thats it, that is what I am going to do. I will post my solution when I get it sorted out
  19. I would love to see some hard data on this thermal superconductor intercooler
  20. sweet any more pictures of that beast? I would love to see a 0-60 video
  21. It seems many people are removing their entire heater system. My question is what do you do for a defroster? Is this just for track and/or fair weather only cars? I would love to lose the weight but there are times when I want to drive my car in cold weather/rain and it seems to me that I would have a problem with windows fogging up. Do others have this problem? Thanks, Mike
  22. I want to get new pipe from the manifold back. What size should I get? In the past I have experienced power loss from going too large without the motor to fill it out. What do you guys run? Also what type of muffler do you like? (Sound clips would be awesome) I want something decently loud but not too loud. I was thinking about a 50 series flowmaster or maybe a spintech. Suggestions? Thanks, Mike
  23. The car is smog exempt. I got it to fire up and it runs pretty good, although it is hard to tell with the 50/50 mix of good gas and nasty old gas. Not to mention the massive exhaust leak makes it sound a little funny. Once I get it on the road Im sure I will sort out all the kinks in a hurry. (Probably end up walking home a few times)
  24. Thanks, My friend that color you see is "leaf green" and is the original coat of paint. It like it too, it grows on you. Sort of like a fungus...
  25. FSM? Factory Service Manual, right? Is the F54 similar enough to the L24 to make the manual worth while for the motor? Yeah I was thinking if it is the dished piston motor and turbo head. With no turbo my compression ratio is going to suck for a na motor. How do I tell if it has dished or flat tops? Thanks, Mike
