  1. That sounds like an awfull lot of cash for such a small plot of ground. You would crap yourself if you knew what I`ve got in my totally remodeled 2400 sq ft house, with a 30'x60' detached garage, on a corner lot with 450+ feet of side walk and an 80'X80' back yard. I think it`s only about 20% more than you are giving for your new place.
  2. I heard a good joke today... A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel sticking out of his zipper. The bar tender says... HEY, you`ve got a STEERING WHEEL sticking out of your ZIPPER. The Pirate replies...HAARRR!!! It`s DRIVI`N me NUTS.
  3. Why not build an attached garage? You could build even larger and have an extra bay for the little womans car, which could help convince her to go along with the expansion.
  4. "IF" this is all true, I seriously doubt there is anything that can be done to stop it. I have my doubts about the scientists doom and gloom predictions. As already stated... How do they really know when the last eruption was?
  5. I think the best way to describe my setup is 1 3/4" Primaries with 80"long 3 1/2" collectors. All of my pipe is mandrel bent and runs through the fenderwells to keep as much heat away from the oil and transmission pans, as well as get the hot exhaust system out of the engine compartment as quickly as possible.
  6. If you look at the third pic in my personal album, It will give you the basic idea behind my pipes. That little piece of pipe sitting on the arm of the lift is one of my baffles. If a couple of the guys here that have seen them will chime in, they will confirm that they are absurdly small. If they are too loud I may switch them out for the ones offered by Summit. I will try to get some better pics soon of my sidepipes and headers installed. I`m actually really proud of the design and fabrication work invold and have been wanting to show them off. I was just hoping to have the car running first.
  7. They do sell insert mufflers and/or baffles for side pipes and straight pipes. I`m running them with my 3.5" side pipes.
  8. I`m using sand that I "think" is garnet. It is black and I picked it up from a local masonary supply shop. The brand name is...Black Beutey
  9. The purpose of the stub stack is to fool the carb into thinking it is bigger. This would only help if your engine was under carbureted, but I think you would still have to rejet to see some(if any) improvement.
  10. The truck 302`s had stronger rods than the cars did. other than that I`m not sure about engine differences. The 4x2 trans is definitely different from the 4x4 trans. That trans is also an electronically controlled E4oD which even if it weren`t 4x4 would not be suitable for the z swap. If you are set on the ford swap, I recomend using the AOD trans that comes in most late 80`s ford cars. as far as the powerplant goes... Why not go with the 351? It`s basically the same swap but has more cubes.
  11. I aquired one from a friend that had mixed results with it. He decided to just go with a larger carb and save his hood clearance. he never had the car dyno tuned, but he may have had better results if he had. It was just too hard to tell by the seat of the pants method.
  12. It`s studies like this that convince our kids that they don`t really need to know how to write or spell. I know my spelling leaves some to be desired, but at leats i get close.
  13. Check to be sure your rear brakes are adjusted properly. This is a very common reason for soft or low brake pedal.
  14. I`m from Ohio, but I used to get around Michigan quite a bit. soon after High school graduation I got a job setting up p.a. equipement and doing photo finish for harness racing. The company I worked for also did alot of concert sound and stage systems as well. The fairs I frequented were...Ionia,BigRapids,Gladwin,Standish,Monroe,Croswell,Onekima, Ludington,Hillsdale,Coldwater,Mason,Kalamazoo, and Holland. I know I`ve forgotten a few but it`s been almost 15 yrs. That was one hell of a job for a 17 yr old kid to do with no supervision.
  15. On the passenger side of the head, look at the base of the head(just above where it meets the block). The I.D.# will be in this vicinity just below the #1 and 2 spark plug holes.
  16. In my area, ANY 4x4 that looks and runs good is worth 3000.00 especially if it is a rust free western truck.
  17. I think the sweetest sounding engine I have ever heard was theford 289. They have such a sweet mellow sound.
  18. VERY NICE!!! I am not easily impressed, but I have to say...That car is impressive. Very nice work.
  19. I picked up some stuff at a combine salvage yard made by Zep, called Twister. IMO, it puts Blaster to shame. It costs 6 bucks a can but is in a larger can than blaster. I go thru about a can a year, and I use it on everything.
  20. I suggest leaving the area. maybe take a mini vacation until the storm blows over. Possesions can be replaced... Lives can`t.
  21. Cool Deal. Another added bonus... If you take care of it, It will always be worth what you paid for it.
  22. The use of frame ties in the 280 depends on the hp/torque you engine is putting out. from what I`ve read and heard, the 77/78 280 had the strongest unibody. 1fastz was running high 9`s in his 77 with no cage, and if memory serves me, I don`t think he had frame ties either.(could be wrong though) His car was twisting badly though, so it`s not exactly good under high torque situations. BTW...He has both now.
  23. I would have a hard time buying a car that has obviously had it`s doors blown off at least once.
  24. When I was still single, I often thought about getting another bike, but now with two kids and another on the way it`s just not worth the risk. It`s way too easy for some MORON like this to take me out and leave my kids to grow up without a father. i know it could happen in a car too, but at least i have some protection.
