  1. Looks like a sparrow tail to me, now add a Gnose, flairs, RB-R wheels and you've got my car ha-ha
  2. Thank you for the comments, as stated above as soon as I can roll the car out further (maybe later this week?????) I'll get the prfile pics WITH THE G-NOSE ATTACHED TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Yup it DOES look better in person, pictures of it just don't do it justice!!!
  4. As soon as the car is finished we'll roll it out. I cannot get a profile pic of the car due to the space limitations, fence on on side and stuff piled up on the other. Sorry bud, you'll have to wait, just like I have for MONTHS grrrrr arggggggh. David
  5. OK, I told my body guy to pull the paper off the spoiler TODAY and will be going to snap picture os the the mounted spoiler in about an hour. I will post them up tonight. The car will not have tail lights in it etc, it's just a shell (shell/hell). Hopefully this car will come out of the shop with in the next 5-10 days, I can't wait. After that we'll begin the power steering fabrication, drop in the engine and tranny for mock up/drill some holes for the transmission X member, pull the engine out and then off to paint!!!
  6. Not an L series but I paid $300 to have my 383 SBC built by a local machinist. He gave me all the paper work with the clearances etc, notched the lower part of the block for the rotating assy etc. Smokin deal IMO
  7. But you forgot this part.... Andy Rooney "the rest of the story" So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Celine during my freshman year, that "it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is endothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is extinct…leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being - which explains why, last night, Celine kept shouting "Oh my God."
  8. 3.70 LSD $600+ shipping PM me if interested.
  9. Don't know exactally what you're asking. The 240 turn signals mount to the airdam like in this pic of my car. Having trouble with posting pics http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h167/twin_z_dad/Midwest%20Z%20fest%2008/100_5303.jpg
  10. Very nice, how long did all that work take?
  11. Can I have the one minute and twenty-six seconds of my life back???????????
  12. Damn straight^^ actually there are a few in my build thread
  13. I want a gnose. So you’ve seen one or two here on hybridz and now you’re ready to make the commitment to place one on your car. In order to “correctly” mate a gnose with your car is going to take some homework, time and money. Here is a parts list of what you’ll need to make it look “right” or “correct”: 1. Gnose Of course we can dream all day of the 5 piece kit that has all the fasteners and brackets that come with it but this kit does not exist in the USA as a new kit. Yes you can find a used one (average price $500-$900) but be prepared for any alignment issues and fiberglass issues as to quote Murphys Law “anything that can go wrong, will go wrong and at the worst possible moment. Also the old saying goes you get what you pay for comes to mind. Solution is to contact Brian at (http://www.zccjdm.com/) there you can purchase a two piece design gnose that is of high quality fiberglass with the correct gnose hood hinges for $1499 + shipping Now that you have secured your gnose it’s time to fit and finish it. Plan on at least 10 hours of finish work before paint to position it on the car correctly. 2. Headlight covers. ZCCJDM sells the lenses for the gnose but not the stainless surrounds. To source the most “correct” set of headlight covers head to ebay and get ready for sticker shock. I’ve seen used sets from overseas with asking prices of $450 (with a scratched lens mind you) and NOS sets asking price is around $750-$1,000. If you find a set cheaper than that you should consider purchasing them immediately. 3. Clear lower turn signal lenses. OEM Nissan lenses not NLA. Reproduction lenses are available from Too Intense Restorations, average price around $175(? if available, they show “call for price” on the website) Dave at TIR had these replicas made to as close as the original lenses as possible without infringing on the copy write from Nissan. They are a good quality part with no bubbles or hazing in the clear. 4. Paint Gnoses are meant to be two tone in color. The bottom half is a dark grey as is the front bumper. Costs can vary from shop to shop for finial prep and paint. I guesstimate it would cost about $250-$500 for painting the part. 5. Fender flairs If you want to complete the JDM look you’ll have to continue with ZG flairs. There are many outlets to purchase these from, cost vary from around $225 +/-. To install these here is an excellent write up http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=113064 if available mounting kits are available for about $60 +/-. 6. Fender mirrors Next are fender mirrors. These show up on ebay for $275-300 new. To mount the fender mirrors follow these measurements. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=115715&highlight=fender+mirror+mount 7. Rear spoiler Finally you’ll need the rear spoiler it is also available at ZCCJDM for $159 (current pricing) + shipping. Prep and paint has to be added to the final cost. In closing a good estimated price of turning you car into a Gnose JDM looking car is around $3,200.00 this price does not include labor, paint or shipping charges. Gnose shipping is roughly $200 +/- depending on what area of the country/world you live in, be sure to take this into consideration. David
  14. Are you drunk? If you want that "ole Mexico" feel check out Cabo or head 20 miles east of there to San Jose del Cabo. Went there about 5 years ago and really enjoyed it. Also might check out Cozumel, it's only over populated when 3+ cruise ships are in port (great diving).
  15. ^^^ Oh come on now!!! If you knew what I was going through with the body work on this car you'd probably have a better understanding of my PAIN!!! The car has been in for body work for close to a YEAR! When it comes out of body work it will still need paint.(more $$$) I'll never build another car like this again, I'll buy somebodys project. We ran into some issues (that have been resolved) with the upper Gnose. So if the guy isn't working on the car I don't go over there, plus work and I have twin boys (4 years old!) that COMMAND AND DEMAND my attention. So snapping pics of a #@$%#@ car that has been a work in progress for 16 months (just this shell) is pretty low on my list. I'm not being p^ssy just getting down on the amount of time it is taking to get this thing to paint so I can start reassembly. Go here for pics http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread...595#post850595
  16. Well maybe you should do some home work/web surfing before you walk in the door, being armed with information never hurt anybody. You can look up parts on line print out the item numbers and have them order the parts. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ Last ball joints I ordered came with all the hardware etc, decent quality parts IMO.
  17. Original member here. Still not done with my "vision" but getting closer!
  18. Think he means inside the car, at least I hope so. I've used the silver foil backed stuff inside the car on the fire wall before. Guess it's better than nothing. I think it avaliable at JC Whitney.
  19. Napa has good quality parts. They usually get it right the first time too. Another option is Auto Zone. Get one of their reward cards and buy each part seperatly you'll save 10-15 bucks
  20. There is some mis-information in this thread. There is a difference between a 70 and a 73's rear suspension due to the wheel being more forward in the wheel well. Mat, (flatblack) car is a 280 which does not cause an issue, I don't know what the other folks are driving except KTM which his car looks like a 73 but not positive.(nice car BTW) My car (the Scarab) is a 10/70 build date with Panasports in 16X7 all the way around, 225/50/16 tires, Tokico springs and Illumina struts. The Panasports are 0 offset all the way around and the rear RUBS! It’s harsh at times and causes some "pucker factor" when driving on less than desirable roads. My former car was a 73 with 17X7 Centerline Azteks, 0 offset, 225/45/17 tires, MS springs, Tokico struts. They did not rub. My solution on the Scarab is to roll the fenders it can be done with out cracking the paint if you do it correctly. I’m going to be ordering the Eastwood fender roller next week to begin on the project then plan on renting the roller out locally to recoup some of the money from it.
  21. Good luck finding a running car for that price. Watch Craigs List for something. I've sold non running cars for over $2K. You may want to focus more on a 280z since they are/seem more plentyful. http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/1581837196.html
