  1. Looking for the DRIVERS SIDE panel that bolts to the uni-body behind the fender ie you can't really see this part. Keeps water and dirt from flying down the inner inside of the fender and I suppose it strengthens the back part of the fender. I'll post a pic of the passenger side one if that helps. Part is for a 1972 240z, any help is apperciated! PM me here or email david.sommer@rocketmail.com THANKS!
  2. Dude I lurk here all the time!!! Sr. member status haha! Join date uhhh Feb 2000!?!, I'm always here. Still building an awsome car too! It's at "Doc Hudsons" shop right now, given up for the moment, turning it over to the "pros" and letting them some work on it so I can make some progress. If you have time you don't have the money, if you have the money, you don't have the time. I'm throwing the check book at it for the moment...and working my a$$ off at my day job. Go figure.
  3. Hmmm that hood looks familiar!!! Perhaps I'll make it down to SA sometime....we can hit the "clubs" haha, that was a great night! You, Vince and me. Ahhh the good ole days!
  4. I think you better contact the state (NJ) about how to move forward. Relying on a title company sounds a bit pricey IMO, just my .02 worth...
  5. Here ya go! My link
  6. Looks good! I've always wanted to do this too, to my NIB SS/aluminum mirrors, you make it look easy might have to do it!
  7. All it takes is time and money....patience, money, patience and more money. I've been trying to complete this version of my "vision" for 12 years, look at my registration date, FEB 2000! Wow it's been too long.....
  8. Just a progress pic...
  9. Dragging up this old topic, sorry. I am installing the Wilwood valve, do you use the adaptors that are supplied with the valve?(brass ones) I look inside the valve inlet/outlet and it appears to require a bubble flare(?) and the threads inside the valve are metric. The adaptors (SAE female) require double flare and are SAE, so do I use the adaptors or try to bubble flair the brake line and get new SAE fittings for inlet/outlet sides. (confused.... As always thank for the help!
  10. Here is one, are code 417 I believe is SW Missouri. $17K seems a bit steep but ya never know..... My link
  11. This the the one from Z car customs in carbon fiber.
  12. Define old....I know Phantom is "older" that me ha-ha!!!
  13. Looks good now flip it for a profit! The hurricane wheels...well if you feel they sweetened the deal good for you. All jokes aside for $400 it looks like you did good. Being a Houston car make sure it wasn't in a hurricane though, check the wiring etc to ensure it wasn't a flood car. Good luck with the project!
  14. Well I moved into my new place, moved my storage building of parts and the car to my house and now unemployed. So it's time to get busy on this project. Going to start plumbing the car this week starting with the brakes. Just a note the brake booster from a 73+ will not properly fit a 70-72 body. Same with the pedal box. I began modifying the fire wall and didn't want to chop too much into my new paint, so I picked up a booster for a 72. The Tilton clutch master would also interfere with the booster. Hope this isn't an issue with the AZ brake conversion. (worked well with the 73 booster which is larger) Pics to come!
  15. Doubt you're going to find any, not to say they don't exist but most people that go 5 lug conversion put newer model wheels on their cars. There is a silver Z with some similar rims that come off a Mustang I believe. I'll see if I can find a pic of it.
  16. Sounds like you have a Scarab style conversion. I have an original Scarab and it uses the stock Datsun choke cable and lever.
  17. The front looks like Lightnig McQueen!!!!
  18. Contact R&R street Rods in Bentonville, AR Ask for Rick, tell em David Sommer sent ya.
  19. You may also want to run a compression check on the engine since you're going through all the trouble. The "ticking" sounds like it's valve train related, since you set all the rockers to spec it shouldn't be ticking. Trouble shoot through the FSM, you should be good. If I were to "guess" at an issue I'd suspect cam, rocker arm, timing chain. Best of luck and keep us posted!!!
  20. Heard from Jason yesterday, here is what he had to say...He was very blessed not to have been killed from the storm. Hey David, Yeah my wife and I are ok. My house has some damage and two of my cars are totaled out. As the tornado hit our neighborhood, we said what we thought were our last I love you's...was some pretty intense moments for sure! Never prayed so had in my life. The shear amount of damage to my home town is saddening and almost overwhelming to say the least. But whats more amazing to me is the amount of help that has poured into our town...not just from the 4 states but the nation as well. Joplin had to ask people to stop sending us clothes, there was just so much coming in. Thousands of volunteers helping people and stuff. When I was trying to clean up my yard people were just showing up asking if I needed anything. I turned them away at first, I still had a house standing surely others needed help more than me. They kept coming back, finally I said yes. About 12 people cut trees and picked up debris and a few hours later I could see my yard again. Removed pieces of what once was the high school from my yard. When the damn Westbro church people came to Joplin to say God hated Joplin and we deserved this I looked around and saw signs on homes that were a piles of rubble, saying God blessed us or God blessed Joplin. I saw thousands of volunteers so many at times they were being turned away. I looked at the thousands of homes and businesses destroyed and only 130-150 dead. No Westbro...God doesn't hate Joplin, God loved Joplin...it could have been so much worse than it was. People died on my street. My home was damaged my cars totaled. But things can be fixed and cars replaced. My wife and I were blessed that night, I'll never forget that! The 240Z was in storage over at my brother in laws, so it's safe. Still waiting for me to finish it. I wish I had more free time to work on it. Maybe I can get back to it this fall. Thank you for checking on me, I don't have internet right now, got power and water back. If anyone else from HybridZ was wondering how I'm doing, let them know were a lil battered and bruised but doing ok. Wife still jumps at sudden noises but it's getting better. Thank you, Jason
  21. I had been in touch with jwink25 a few times, I believe he was building a turbo tom set up. Anybody know's if he made it through the Joplin tornado last month? Hope he's OK.
  22. Had I seen your post the morning I could have measured them while I was at my storage building. If I get back over there I'll measure them up for you, sorry I couldn't help this instant.
  23. I don't want it but send me some pics and a price, I know somebody that might! Include the VIN number if you don't mind. dsommer479@yahoo.com
