  1. Go baby go. You've made great progress with that ole bucket of bolts! If you're ever up around Rogers give me a shout.
  2. Good to see some more Arkansas guy on the board. Can't help with the ZX issues but if you're ever up toward the Rogers area give me a shout. Be sure to check out bransonzfest.com for this years event, you won't be disappointed! David
  3. Go big or or go home j/k That car appeared to be well worth the selling price if not more. Keep your eyes open something else will show up for you. Like fishing, the one that got away, darn it!
  4. First thing I would do is dyno the car to create a baseline HP figure. Next look at aftermarket cam, header and a cold air intake with a K&N filter. Or just yank the L28 and install a V8!
  5. Why didn't you just buy that car? I was watching to see what that one sold for, $6600 bucks is quite reasonable for that car. Good luck with your search!
  6. 280ZX turbo axels with MM CV adaptors and 280 stub axels that were cryo treated.
  7. Finally starting to melt... SRT8's been burried at work for hmmm a month?
  8. The dif mount is from a 280z, I used it during the R-200 swap years ago. The car is a 72 year model. When you do an R200 swap you should get all the parts, I heard that so many times (insert broken record) so that's what I did. As we move toward modifications and custom parts we must remember what was initially published on this site (member since 2000 and before when it was v8zcars or something like that)
  9. Man hate to hear that. I've got a good 240 tank over here in Rogers I'd let go for $60+ shipping if interested.
  10. I used the stock lower mount then used a ES tranny mount for a Chevy transmission. We had to trim the BOTTOM part of the ES mount in a curved shape to conform to the top of the dif. Then it is sandwiched between the RT mount and the top of the dif. Trimming the ES mount was a pain in the a$$, I botched one and had to buy another. Sorry to chime in after the fact....
  11. IMO that car is going to go in the $7K range. Just my opinion though. Depends on who else shows up to bid on the car. Good luck though, if you get it for that price you'll be doing very well. Post an update if you snag it.
  12. Try the "parts wanted" section. I'll check the one I have in the attic for condition. Pm me a phone number where I can send a pictue text. David
  13. I'll take considerbly less for the car seeing how it's just sitting and not being used. SCARAB 154
  14. I'd take it apart and measure the two axels side by side. I don't know if you have to flip the cages on the 300 zx axels but you do on the 280zx turbo axels. Also on mine (280ZXT) axels we had to cut the cup down (from the outter axel retainer) that mates inside the flange adaptor (MML 280zxt adaptors) granted these were early production units but if they were just squeezed together you'd get a hella lota noise out of them IMO. Also you may want to consider running a RT front dif mount with a GM trans poly bushing.
  15. I just took it off the car and gave it to them to do the work, blasting and coating.
  16. I powder coated my suspension. Everything plus rotor hats, front X member, JTR mounts and set back plates. $450. Sorry just like showing off the poweder coating Kevko oil pan in the raw... Powder coated with crinkel finish.(going to do the roll bar with the same finish) Thermal coating on intake (and rear dif cover).
  17. The engine should be est. 500HP FI through a holley TBI. Compression is 11:1 with a snow performance water/methanol injection set up. NOS wet shot is 100HP. Ignition MSD e-curve distributor. Mechanical roller cam which is gear driven. Forged pistons, H-beam rods 4340 crank all balanced. Really looking forward to a new and much improved V-8 Zcar experience.
  18. An update pics will come later. We had an issue with the powder coating on the rear control arms so they were painted to match the the coating. I sprayed the entire interior with Second Skin sound deadener. The firewall was initially sprayed with Second Skin "fire wall" to soak up the heat, then sprayed with multipule coats of the sound deadener. Finally it's off to the paint shop where it will be painted Artic White with silver/gray flairs, rear bumper and lower g-nose.
  19. I've got one. Pm me a phone number and I'll send a text picture message.
  20. If you produce them 2 or 3 pod I'd buy one.
  21. Hey just ran across this thread, WELCOME!!! I've got factory Scarab #154 and funny as it sounds I sold my Factory Five Cobra to purchase it. Super fun cars both of them, but I wish I had them both!!!
  22. If you're interested in a "turn key" car that has historical value drop me a PM. I've got my 71 Scarab for sale. Look at it this way, you can purchase it, drive it, show it and NOT lose your shirt. It can be had for what you're looking at spending on a shop performing a conversion for you. Just food for thought and I'd even consider a partial trade, as I'm a Z-nut..... You tube vid link, clik on the HD version, it the link doesn't work just go to youtube and search datsun scarab. My link
  23. I have Trick Flow heads with the angle plugs. I went with a set of hooker street rod shorty headers with Accel shorty plugs. Every thing is "tight" and occasionally I have burnt a plug wire but you can run the fabric insulators if needed. Plug changes are a bit tight, get a short 5/8" wrench to help facilitate the changes and you'll be fine.
