That's not expensive, price some new old stock ones. Especially for a 240z. There is a NOS set on ebay with a BIN of $837, the current bid is $691

Lawyer? Throw that bast@rd under the bus with the police, DMV etc. Just show them the fire wall repair he did, that'll get em going!!! Screw him as he screwed you. He'll do this again I promise.

OK here's my .02 It's a Hybridz taken to the extreme? However, if you are going to keep the car to yourself, register it as a 19XX early car with the early VIN. IF you plan on selling it....get the VIN on the firewall professionally installed and explain that it is made out of 2 cars, the main car being a 240Z, you have a title that's the main part. I doubt the DMV is going to pull up carpet, check the radiator mount, on and on to verify the car but they may check the VIN on the dash and firewall, they did this on my FFR Cobra when I was regisering it as I purchased it from out of state. Just be up front and never try to pass the car off as something it is not. If the potential buyer raises a stink, just say sorry and move on. OR build it into a track car as sugguested. You have the title and dash do you have the door jamb tag and engine bay tag (not the firewall tag)? (hope I don't get flamed....)

Can anybody offer up some creative solutions to cover up the shifter hole in the transmission tunnel? The hole is way too big (I didn't do it) and kicks out toward the driver for the T-5 transmission. I'm guessing some type of rubber matting for shifter movement. Rivit a piece of sheet metal over it? I'll try to post some pics of the hole. Meanwhile any ideas or solutions are apperciated. David

Picks jaw up off floor......I'd keep that one stock IMHO. First gens are getting harder and harder to find. If I had the means I'd pick this one up from you, put it in storage and let er' be for another 10 years.

How fast with stock stubs and flanges?
dsommer replied to Eric JB's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Take the 280 stubs and have them cryo treated, thats what I'm (I'll be) running if I ever finish up this car (shooting for late fall) -
I've HAD IT with distributors. When I first got the car back from the shop it had a crappy Accell HEI in it. I needed to do some work so I pulled it. The replacement is a MSD E-curve. The "shop" said they had it installed the MSD unit, car ran for 3-4 minutes and quit, never to start with that distributor again. I sent if off to MSD came back just fine. I tried to install it and it engages the cam gear but never lines up/"drops in" the oil pump shaft. Looking that the Accell unit the distributor shaft looks a bit beveled so I did some grinding on the MSD unit. (lightly $400 distributor) Tried again no joy. Ordered up a HEI Summit billet distributor and tried to stab it last night, still nothing. My concerns are 1 why is it not engaging the oil pump shaft (yes it is aligned to accept the gear with the cam gear twisting the distributor and 2 IF I really put pressure on the top of the distributor and it does engage the oil pump drive shaft, if I remove the distributor the oil pump drive shaft will come out with the distributor will create a whole new set of problems. Should I grind the distributor shaft down further and hope for the best??? Any advice is appreciated Now I'm not the absolute best at several things in life but I have installed several distributors over my life time.

Fastest LS Datsun 1/4 mile
dsommer replied to mistafosta's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
Go to the "more" tab and on the drop down there is a time slip link. -
I've got Sparco Torinos in my car. The floor pans have been replaced and were flat so I had to add 1.5" spacers to move the seat UP height wise. I'll see if I can get some pics up for you.

dsommer replied to dsommer's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
If I can get my a$$ busy and finish it up.... I'd drive it over, even better route that I found. Installing sound deading now, second skin luxury liner on top of the normal spray in stuff. -
Rocky Auto Zcars...who is buying them from the U.S.?
dsommer replied to dsommer's topic in Non Tech Board
Bill lots of pics in my build thread. I'd rather have the Scarab back as opposed to the "build" I got involved in. Everything from new pans to new paint. I'll probably be scared to drive this one as it's become somewhat of a "show car" I normally make a few bucks on the cars I've had (Cobra, Scarab, 300zxTT but this one, fat chance. -
I'm in need of the clips that hold the inspection covers to the body of the car, not the hinges but the clips in the front part of the lid. PM me if you have some (need both sides) Thanks! David
-
How about some under body shots? Was the car a full media restoration? I know mine is and I'd show the heck out of the under carriage because it's so clean! Could have used cleaner pictures too.
-
OK we've seen two go over seas, who bought the cars? Are they individuals looking for the cars or are agents involved to check the cars out and finalize the deal? I sold the Scarab to a fellow in Norway through pictures only. Are these cars being sold through pictures only? Also what is the going price? I know the yellow one the guy was "asking" (if I remember) in the $40K range. So what gives, anybody know?

Check Fayetteville AR Craig's list. His name is Richard, I know him he may be able to fix you up.
-
Pile on!!! this guy.....is ridiculous. How about shaving down those "brows"? Wish I could grow a beard that thick. Oh, must me cold in the house with that cap on his head.
-
Here we go again.....If you want to be acknowledged for your build, don't sell it. If you sell it always consider somebody might take credit for your work.
-
That would have been the economical way to go....I on the other hand subscribe to the theorem of buy high sell low Kinda like my Z.... and parts I purchase that I don't need.
