  1. Well, it's still a hell of a lot better than mine!
  2. I can't believe you got a rust free shell... for free. As someone on the east coast, I am insanely jealous. You guys on the west coast are spoiled.
  3. There really needs to be a training course you need to complete before posting on CL. "Car has rust" Gee, no shit. Where and how much?! I'd be all over it if it had less rust (from what little I can see in the pics he has)
  4. Sorry if I missed it, but what was the modification for? Looks like you're gonna have 3 different calipers mounted there. What bolt patterns are on your stub axles? 4x4.5, 5x4.5 and something else? Did you order them like that to keep your options open or are they all like that?
  5. I don't care if he got a few details wrong, or didn't notice them. No one can be an expert on every car they drive. It's the fact that after it was BLATANTLY OBVIOUS that the car wasn't a real Ferrari, he started backpedaling, and flat out lied a few times. He handled it poorly and it says something about his character.
  6. I'd like to see the Z featured but I don't really care for Matt Farah. I lost all respect for him after the 'Ferrari' incident. Someone else needs to do it.
  7. That seems to be standard practice for that vendor from what I've heard. If it were me, I'd cancel and order elsewhere. I was hoping to hear he had gotten things running smoothly since he first started, but I guess that's not the case. I know you wanted CF so you wouldn't have to paint match them - why not just paint them black?
  8. If you want something that looks like a Mustang, get a Mustang.
  9. That's not how I read it. Maybe I'm wrong, but to me, it came off as a not-so-kindhearted jab at Plata.
  10. I have a 90k mile L28 that sat for nearly 20 years, outside, in NJ. Ran fine when we got it running. I highly doubt you need to rebuild.
  11. As has been explained, Japan does not follow the same guidelines for model years as the US. You're trying to apply US practices to a car from Japan, and it just doesn't work that way.
  12. They didn't. S30 280Zs finished up I believe in May of 1978, as that's the latest build date I've heard of (at least in the US), and S130s began production in June, as Tony said.
  13. I"m really not sure since I haven't tried this yet, but if you use a 240sx 5speed you might not have to cut the trans tunnel. As far as I know it's a little bit longer than the 280Z 5 speed which should put it about where the stock shifter came out. It's a bit more work to swap it in though, but nothing too difficult.
  14. My BMW (1988) was totaled for similar damage. Cars that old are worth so little that just about anything will total them. But I agree - that can definitely be fixed.
  15. You're ******* crazy for fixing that. But, nice job. My car is much more solid than yours was and I've been back and forth on fixing it or scrapping it for ages.
  16. Agreed, not to mention added weight from the battery cables, and battery cage. Not sure what all you do and don't have in the car, but if you don't have a heater, I think I'd put it under the dash on the passenger side.
  17. Looks like your car has been hit. The TC Rod mount is buckled. Make sure you fix this as well.

  19. I think I'd pay $200 at the most.
  20. Yup I think ZG flares would actually be the better choice. Easier to install since you only have to weld the inner and outer fender back together, plus a few nutserts. Those metal flares look pretty flimsy as well (to me anyway), and I'd imagine they would dent easily. If you damage a ZG flare, you unbolt it and throw on a new one.
  21. Looks like your PM box is full, so I'll leave this here. Just saw your post, although it got locked. I don't think this source is too well known, but I found it a while back. I believe they're pretty high quality. If you search you might find some info on them, but probably not much. This is the page: http://www.rhdjapan.com/marugen-shoukai-wide-over-fenders-zg-wide-type-nissan-s30-s31-68595 I'm not sure how ZForce Productions is doing now, but back when he first started ma...

*but back when he first started making them, they were CRAP. Damn character limits.

  22. Those wheels would have looked great, too bad they didn't fit. Maybe some Epsilon Southern Ways?
  23. Phar, think these will be available in the future? I just checked both my horn buttons, and both are broken, so I might be interested later, but I can't justify the purchase right now.
