  1. Details? My 240z also has this problem and I was kinda hoping I wasn't gonna need a new chassis . The drivers door is so bad that it barely even latches. Here's some pics to show what I'm talking about. The passenger side isn't as bad. Front of the door: http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j89/rturbo930/71%20Datsun%20240Z/?action=view&current=DSCF3707.jpg At the back: http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j89/rturbo930/71%20Datsun%20240Z/?action=view&current=DSCF3708.jpg http://s78.photobucket.com/albums/j89/rturbo930/71%20Datsun%20240Z/?action=view&current=DSCF3710.jpg
  2. When you said you went 4 wheeling, I was expecting it to be in someone else's truck... Holy crap I can't believe you did that in the Z!!
  3. Aside from the repaint, none of that seems like something worth getting a whole new car for. As far as the repaint goes, your body is already straight, and the body work is already done, right? All you need is the paint. A new project like you described is bound to need some body work. Definitely keep it. That's not as much as I was expecting, and you'll have to do those on the new car anyway in addition to the restoration process that you would need to do again. You're WAY ahead with your current car. In another thread you mentioned you wanted to put the fuel filler back in the stock location. This answers my question as to if you were planning another paint job. But, have you considered mounting it behind the license plate? That seems like it would be a good solution with less work.
  4. What condition do you want them in? I've spent the past few days stripping a 280zxt, so I've got a lot of those parts. Body was pretty rusty so they're not perfect, but the doors, hood, and hatch are all repairable, as far as I can tell. I don't think there's any major rust hiding in them. I'm not sure how I'd ship them though, or if you'd want to pay for shipping...
  5. I vote keep it. Like you said, you've got most of the kinks worked out. If you buy a new car and start fresh you will have to start all over again. What exactly do you want to redo besides the paint? If you bought a new project, you would likely have to redo the paint on that as well. Not to mention, problems ALWAYS seem to be hidden in new projects, whereas you know your car in and out. I feel you on that dream of buying a nice, clean, rust free, bone stock Z out of California though. It's something I will probably do as soon as I get the chance.
  6. Mind going into detail as to why you wish you kept it, even against a better fuel cell as mentioned in your post? I can't decide if I want to keep the stock tank in my 240z. The spare tire well is rusty, not sure if I want to replace it.
  7. Might take a look at this... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=154116
  8. Gorgeous. Why did you switch to the other airdam though? In older pictures, you have a CF BRE airdam.
  9. Good luck doing that without getting caught. Not like everyone's parting out new GTRs.
  10. Well he was asking what Avagadro's number was yesterday, and the test was this morning...
  11. I'm starting to feel old since I remember when everyone was excited for Super Smash Bros to come out. Still have my N64, sitting a few feet from me. Can't find the controllers though
  12. If you're uncomfortable talking with the teacher, you should suck it up and do it anyway. Provided the teacher is any good, they should be able to help you much more than just looking through the text book or wikipedia. Also, if you have a test coming up that your grade for the entire semester is dependent on, maybe you should have done the work in the first place? Just a thought.
  13. For the center console, you could just get a '72 center console. I don't think it'll quite just bolt right in, but it should fit.
  14. Ouch... I'll bet he cried himself to sleep that night.
  15. I heard he was visiting his GF for the night.
  16. Was it this guy? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=149660
  17. What do you plan on doing for the tail light surrounds? Stock, or a carbon fiber upgrade like Bartman did?
  18. I can't believe this has lasted for more than an hour.
  19. Eh, he wasn't mean about it, and stated it pretty politely. I would call that constructive criticism, not "freakin' harsh."
  20. Love the auto --> manual conversion and stock looking engine.
