  1. nice fab job. i'd assume that the gm sc is also plentiful and easy to get parts for as well-good choice. is there a way you can redirect your intake to draw non-engine bay warm air? that could help your ic to work more efficiently and drop your intake temp even further = more power! are you planning a turbo as well to make this twincharged?!
  2. nice work...did you use a layer of foam under the vinyl? i also like the fact that it looks like it is supposed to be there!
  3. you could look in the glove box for a small white tag that the factory placed there with the key code. most likely, you'll remove all the locks and have a locksmith cut a new key for them [assuming they are all still original and operate with 1 key].
  4. we are taking our first crack at running vir tonight. having run a bit of practice laps myself it appears to be a very fast track with some fun, technical & challenging corners-looks like we'll have a blast. love to see some more hbz members running with us!
  5. received a pm from paulo saying that the delay on returning my taillight trim pieces is because he's using them for a template for the cf parts and that he will return them along with cf part as my comp for supplying the template parts! i'm looking forward to that!
  6. your speedo bouncing around like that is probably a sign that either your speedo cable needs a good lube and clean or it's on the way out. pretty easy to disconnect it at the tranny, pull the inner cable out then clean and either oil or grease. i did this and it cured my needle bouncing problem-had a section of the cable that was getting rusty so i soaked that innner drive cable in some oil for a bit just to be sure it penetrated, then put a thin coat of grease on it and reinstalled.
  7. paulo, it's now been 3+ weeks and i have not [yet] received my taillight trim panels. please inform me as to their status. shipped? not shipped? when should i expect them to arrive?
  8. all but one of mine clear just fine. for the one that was close [left or driver side] i reused the aluminum insulator from the stock plug wires. otherwise the msd wires worked great and they aren't too expensive and mike at new era performance keeps them in stock.
  9. http://www.neweraperformanceparts.com [it's where i purchased my msd wires, fit just fine on my 012 ls1 w/sanderson headers].
  10. i have a 73 parts car in my driveway...i believe that part is rust free. shoot me an email...[one_tuffz@yahoo.com]
  11. I just received this email from Steve Rossini, the 07 Z convention photographer. He thought us Hybridz'rs would want to know! "It is official, the Primadonna Z will be in the 2009 Car and Driver calendar on the "WEDNESDAY JULY 8 2009 page." Excerpt / caption for the photo along with the photo that will appear below. Congrats Roger! 1971 Datsun 240Z There were lots of Z-cars around by 1971, but very few like this one. Called the Primadonna, it replaced the original 2.4-liter inline six with a Chevy V-8, and added racing suspension and body panels. Owned by Floridian Roger Berry, this Primadonna appeared at the 2007 Z Convention at Daytona. © STEVE ROSSINI Steve Rossini Highland Design Studio www.HighlandDesignStudio.com onelap@highlanddesignstudio.com
  12. evilc, i believe it was the way knofs worded his post and that it was his first post that created his 'ban' not the fact that there is an issue. if he simply stated fact and left the emotion part out it may have been ok. jmort, i had not ordered parts but did send to paulo my 3 piece steel tail light trim panels-based on his promise not only to return them but to also provide me [gratis] cf tail panels in exchange for the use of mine as a manufacture template. i know [rick] speeder has his rear spoiler [which i like the style of very much]. perhaps he'll chime in as well as to his thoughts.
  13. i saw that it was your first post and didn't want you to get started off on the wrong foot.
  14. what is your before and after 'driving' impression of your install?
  15. thank you paulo, i would greatly appreciate that. david
  16. knonfs, best to do you bashing offline. i'm guessing that the admins have yet to see your post-the reason why it's still here. i would also bet that further [similar] rantings would get you banned / booted / etc. just a friendly fyi.
  17. i'd shoot evilc a pm. he picked up a pair of used fiberglass rear quarters from me about 2 weeks ago which may work...
  18. you could look at what classic tube has to offer. i did a quick search on their website for a 73 240z model. here's the link. http://www.classictube.com/searchresults.asp i worked with them last year and provided the following to update their database; series 1 & 2 240z, 280z both early and late models-all brake, fuel & vapor lines [even the short hard lines that are on the outboard end of the brake flex lines]. they have [pardon my technical ignorance] a scanner that pulls the x, y & z axis from the lines, converts it into some program, they then feed the info to a cnc bender, it makes the lines, they compare again with the scanner the new vs. old line and make any necessary corrections. all stainless but you can order them in a 'regular' steel line as well. in addition they carry braided flex lines for our z's as well. since they have the fuel line info they can make them to pretty much any diameter you specify. hope this helps.
  19. guys, check this-in car video from mid-ohio. this is one of the tracks we currently run as well as the [proposed] track for the 2008 international z convention to be held in cleveland, ohio this coming september/october.
  20. paolo, interesting you would post now. so, my question-do you still have the steel taillight finisher panels i sent you as the templates for the cf panels that were going to be produced? if so, i'd like them back-unless you still need them. if i remember correctly, i was to receive the first production pair for my 'contribution' of the templates. evilc had set this up, gave me our address and i shipped them to you [long ago]. either a pm or email [one_tuffz@yahoo.com] would be great! david
  21. cool, someone posted a pic of my old 280zsc engine. the intake you see is the way i pulled air from other than in the engine bay and solved the low engine to throttle body clearance. the intake wrapped under the sc, then forward to another tube then in front of the radiator to a cone filter. worked great. we used some old kc130 internal fuel tank fittings for the elbow and flat aluminum stock to fab the piece that fit over the tb. tig'd it all together, and polished! The picture below (posted by SHO-Z in the thread linked above) shows where the top of the supercharger sits behind the wheel well. It s the same kit as mine, so I think there will be enough room, as long as it fits under the hood.
  22. cf, in the chart you posted the stock price is above both the 10 & 50 day ma [moving average], you may consider that a sell indication [although there are others to go by as well] and lock in your gain. then look to buy back once the price falls below the ma. this will create some short term cap gains for you but taxation on something is better than no tax on nothing...fwiw. hit the books/internet, there is a ton of great information out there but it will take time, patience & luck to pull a profit.
