1 tuff z replied to 1 tuff z's topic in Non Tech Board
thought paypal would be safe, sent payment and have not from this jackoff since 11.16.07. phone disconnected, no other number listed with 411. last 2 emails he had made up some excuses as to why he hadn't sent my parts yet. call me trusting, gullible and stupid... anyway, here's his info-so no one else falls victim. greg gurley 124 charter way #13 Burnsville N,C 28714 1-828-675-9850 gregs-got-it@hotmail.com [also similar to his ebay user id] filed a case with paypal to get $ back but not holding my breath. buyer beware... -
How to make autometer fuel gauge read properly
1 tuff z replied to smoorenc's topic in Ignition & Electrical
i knew if i waited that someone smarter than me would figure it out and i could then follow. thank you! my autometer gauge does the exact same thing, drives me nuts, now i know how to fix it. -
ditto, my favorite lambo ever, period! i was fortunate enough to see one of these [less than 800 produced] gorgeous machines in person at watkins glen vintage races. love!

Would it be worth my time to do a 'layover template' on some of my fenders? I have some early S30, as well as Late S30 fenders around where I could lay a template over it and copy the holes directly. The early holes are round, the later Electric Controlled Mirrors are 'teardrop shaped'... The template should scan properly, and be a simple alignment with fender front edge and hood edge. "This side up for Right Mirror, RHD" kind of annotation. That would give exact hole dimensions without having to use your plastic bases as the template for figuring out the centering of the holes. Whaddya Think? me thinks yes also, does anyone have an extra plastic mirror base available [relatively flat, oval shaped black plastic piece, sandwiched between the bottom of the mirror and fender]. i picked up a pair of mirrors and they were missing one of the bases. the base fits either side. thanks

push in, hold and turn 90 degrees [can't remember which way] and voila, it'll come right off!

it's a pc game, you need your own copy to race online [there's a s/n]. i use a playseats brand seat and a logitech pro force feedback wheel [found both on ebay]. using my pc moniter and a logitech headset with mic i picked up at best buy. the game is not perfect but is challenging and very fun. it 'knows',; cold tires, too much or too little braking [weight transfer], too much or 'unsmooth' applications of throttle-especially at lower speeds in higher hp cars, bad apexes and the 'wrong line'. once you get used to the fact that there is no 'seat of the pants feel' it's pretty realistic. the sensory imputs are through the; eyes, ears and hands. the screen does portray some 'world movement' [as you would move your eyes when entering a corner and movement of your head slightly forward/aft under braking/acceleration]. the graphics are pretty decent, modeling of the car interior, etc. there is damage, flat tires, spins, you can do burnouts, donuts, crashes, fires-anyway, you get the idea. if you want to run, you'll need; game & s/n, headset [and download teamspeak], patches for the tracks we run-mid ohio & watkins glen as well as the cars we run. when racing we all run the same car-different 'skins', like the old iroc races. no mods allowed, keeps it fun, simple and competitive!

looks like you scanned them from a magazine article, very nice!

Amazing! Shangri-La for Nissan fans. after being there one must feel; "for i have dined on honeydew and drunk the milk of paradise..." most appropriate rush lyrics!

here are my new seats-corbeau clubmans; fixed back-but leans back sufficiently [to accomodate my herniated disc], 22 lbs each lighter than the recaros i removed, more leg room and much more lateral support. i'm 6'3", long legs and i pull the seat cushion when i wear my helmet. loved them on the track! i tried several other seats before settling on these. some of the other seats with the 'wings' at the shoulders either didn't fit the z or my body. these worked great on my drive from upstate, ny to daytona and back for the convention [over 2700 miles round trip and no backache]! i really like them.

From the album: Interior stuff
corbeau clubmans, 44 lbs total lighter than the recaros i removed, more leg room and much more lateral support. worked great on my drive from upstate, ny to daytona and back for the convention! -
i am fortunate enough to have toured the 'dream garage' that nissan used to have in a secret warehouse in cali. this was about 4 years ago and before they moved to tennessee. the cali facility is a small taste of this cache! absolutely amazing and too bad they don't open it to the public.

Anti-roll or Sway bar survey
1 tuff z replied to 1 tuff z's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
duh, forgot to post what my z is running. front-1", suspension techniques w/msa adj end links rear-7/8", front mount [stock location], brand unknown, w/msa adj end links low speed understeer to a mid-hi speed [slight] oversteer. more body roll than i'd like. will be updating the alignment based on john c's sticky as a starting point. -
thought i'd post this informal survey to get an idea of what my z brethren are doing with their z cars. this is for those of you-who have a z that works a double shift - street and track. i'm looking to get an idea of the following; bar size, manufacturer [if you remember], rear bar type [front or rear mount] and if you don't run a rear bar simply a N would suffice. finally, your thoughts on how your z handles-understeer, neutral or oversteer [as relating to; low, medium and high speed corners]. thanks, in advance! front bar size/brand rear bar size [f/r mount]/brand

practice, practice, practice!

brian, slow and steady wins the race! looking good, it seems-looking at your pics that it should fit under the hood-your tb may be even shorter than the holley that came with the unit. you've also solved the air intake runner issue i faced when this was on my z. here's a pic when it was in my car, a few years ago...
