good deal, u kidding? very good deal in my book. funny, i think you'll still be viewing my taillights-LOL! i like them, ready for pics! did u have a chance to try the harnesses i have in my z? they are schrothe and are very comfortable for both street/track. easy & quick to get in-out of. ps-my tire [flat] was ruined, need to get a new pair...bummer. probably put her away for the winter and get the tires in the spring.

pete, for some reason i had my tokico illumina's set to 2 in front and 1 in the rear-don't ask why cause i don't know...springs are 225 f and 250 r. spoke to john c last evening and suggested i raise my ride height to the following, 6.25" f and 6.5" rear. as a note i dropped the tire off yesterday to get the 'flat' fixed [got something in the tire about 4 hrs from home] and then can effectively check ride height. i spoke to a number of lappers who do not run a rear bar, so i'm considering removing mine. also gotta call the shop that did the alignment so i can get the current specs. john c can't diagnose the problem if he doesn't know all the info!!

pete, did ya notice how much my z was rolling over at dis? i didn't realize it [suspected it although] until i just saw the pics, aagh!

just got off the phone with steve rossini [the head photographer for the event] and he said all the photos will be posted by tomorrow morning-with the exception of the studio shots, they'll show on monday. cd's will be available for order tomorrow as well [they do not include the studio shots]-he said there will be over 1100 images on the cd. he'll send me a link once completed and i'll post them here afterward.

hhhhhhhhh, luke...i mean pete,hhhhhhh, i am your faather, come over to the dark hybridz side swap a v8 into your z and we shall rule the z universe together. i crack myself up, lol. my z theory. there is a centriod of the z community, it is strong and they are loyal enthusiasts. branched off from this centroid, and weakly connected are the 2 dark sides-which i may add are very strongly connected-hybridz and twinturbo.net. may we live long and prosper. uh oh, i think i'm getting my tv/movie stuff mixed together, oh well.

did the longest road trip ever in my z since i've owned her [10/1984]. just over 2700 miles in a 1 week period. rochester, ny to daytona, fl and back. add in some hot lapping at dis [daytona intl speedway infield course], a drag strip run and auto-x'ing as well as a bit of goofing around in daytona. the z performed flawlessly! did pick up a chunk of metal in the left rear tire in gettysburg, pa, popped on the old maxima space saver spare and drove the rest of the way home [over 3 hours]. averaged around 30 mpg driving 80 mph round trip-on 87 octane pump gas. since the swap i've logged 8300 trouble free miles and can't wait to rack up some more! will have video in the coming weeks of; drag, auto-x and lapping so stay tuned!

here's a couple of us at the closing banquet from left to right are; kusumi-san [friend of datsun spirit], quick240z [david], yours truly [1tuffz] and datsun spirit [eiji]. had a great time and the crew really busted their butts to make it all happen. i was very fortunate, amidst some great cars & drivers to place 4th in the fzc [fla z challenge]. this combined the auto-x, drag and car show for a competition. bill coffey was turned away at the drags for no taillights and eiji's 240zg's msd box decided not to let him drag either-i'm confident both would have turned better times in their immaculately prepared z's. my initiation into drag racing and a bit of coaching allowed me my first ever run with a 12.7, i was pretty thrilled. the car show was in the rain [for the fzc cars anyway] and the auto-x we not only battled each other's times but the swarms [literally] of bugs and blistering sun/humidity. overall, i met and hung out with some great people, finally put some faces to screen names [hoke-austin, speeder-rick, vinhzxt-vinh, datsun spirit-eiji, primadonna z-roger and many more that my older brain can't seem to remember at this particular moment-aargh!]. can't wait to the 08 convention in cleveland and my chance to attack mid ohio race course!! oh, my only 'failure' during the entire 2700+ mile trip...drove for about 3.5 hours on this spare!

i pulled a q diff a few weeks ago and was unable to bust loose the outer nuts so...i cut the metal band around the boot, sliced the inner boot, removed the snap ring and-voila, it all came apart. additionally, i got only the part of the axle i needed and it saved me some $ as well cause they only charged me for the inner cv. yes, it was pretty messy, so bring your surgeon gloves, baggies for the parts and paper or shop towels to clean up afterward!

gregfarz, there's a series 1 240 on ebay now in nyc area-not too far from you...i think it has about 5 days left.

drove over 2700 miles in my little 'ole z this past week, car show, lapping, drag [my first ever], auto-x, had a great time. i too thank the fla z crew for hosting the event, as a previous convention team member i know and appreciate what they endured for the past 2 years planning! i'm tired now and will sleep this week. my hybridz did great, no mechanical problems the entire time. did have a flat tire about 4 hours from home on the way back yesterday, good thing i had my old compact 16" maxima/810 spare tire with me...

holy crap, just found this thread. even if i did have the $$ to own a machine shop i wouldn't know where to begin. i'm in awe. this brings me back to a thought i had shortly after i found hybridz, there is an amazing depth to the amount of talent, knowhow and get it done capability on this site that overshadows ANY other site i've been to, period! proud to be a hbz member!
