  1. Just curious, but I saw a screw-drive type device, perhaps a linear motor that was in a couple of pictures of the VQ37. could it be the same?
  2. are you SURE it's a knock? I thought the same thing. would you believe it was the flippin' cruise control cable not being tightened down to the actuator on the passenger of the engine bay! It has a jam nut that was loose and it was jumping up and down on a piece of hollow plastic (the housing) and it sound like the knock of all engine knocks. GAHT DANG. it only happened when i hammered it or when I gave the throttle or brake a quick jab. It did sure have me scared though.
  3. i'd say load and reload were pretty good "albums" but i'm not sure if it's classified under metallica. LOL
  4. I called that one when he said he was switching to something "more streetable" in his other thread. going from a 2mm smaller trim when you're already in 70's on a 2.6 litre engine isn't going to give you any more "street" lol. SC300 eh? i don't know of any "S300" cars...
  5. Isn't that what seat-to-seat primary timing is ? taking note of IVO, IVC, EVO, EVC and at what degree of rotation it happens... ?
  6. That price i shot out there includes everything for a standard setup... then again now that you have to go to a big single, you're looking at a manifold and a large turbo and some tuning + engine management.
  7. is it possible that the one you got didnt have A/C or is it the connector that's different/missing a pin. I think what you're doing is pretty cool
  8. your buddy with the beard in the video looks, talks, and acts EXACTLY like my friend alex. like... exactly. as for the RB26. cool.
  9. if you get everything with the engine, including the RB25DET transmission, it will be the same as almost every other RB26 swap. You may be able to run the factory ECU harness too. As stated, Racinjitter has some real answers as to what kinda cross member or this and that you would be looking at making the job easier. total cost for an RB26 in one of these? Maybe close to 7000 said and done. could be a touch cheaper.
  10. hi. i will be in for 1 definately, and i will pay you in the following week (tried to pay you this week, good thing i didn't cause something came up!). I get paid on monday, and it's a healthy cheque so i can spare the cost of the oil drain
  11. H30 i-6! BRAAAAAAAP BRAAAAAAAAAAAP
  12. lol it was in reference to the 'pin-hole' that started the whole mess a while back. not really serious.
  13. At least every bolt and nut and stud wouldn't be rusted to hell!
  14. definitely relocate that ECU unless you like zippity poppity sounds coming from your engine bay under heavy rain! or at least cover it with a suitable weather shield. piping and install looks great!
  15. lol makes you wonder who's headin the operations of some big name companies these days. times to go SPEC and throw ACT away?
  16. 71C's are putting down more than 400+ rwhp behind SR20's. If you feel like it's gonna be a burden soon, get an FS5R30A from an 05/87+ Z31 churbo!
  17. I've seen some people install the flywheels with the out of the box texture to them. usually a non-issue. The shiny ones are re-surfaced or possibly for ceramic-button type clutches that would wear out quickly if they were too rough. As for the pilot bushing, make sure you push it in a good way into the crank-end. That's the reason my clutch never fully released. The last shop to do the clutch on my z31t made a boo-boo and didn't push it all the way in and it rubbed against the hilt on the small end of the input shaft, and ground itself into the shaft to the point where they were cold-welded kinda thing. It always had the trans turning.
  18. Lets say the clutch was given as a gift or used but in good condition before being put in. Would welding beads to the rivets help at all, since ACT would never warranty something that doesn't have an origin?
  19. that doesn't even look like he's holding it well enough to support it. And even so, I would never have it that close, on my back, with a glossy oil pan near a good condition car of any sort. 300 lbs crashing 6 feet to a car is like driving into people jumping off the Dufferin bridge. And did I forget to mention that there is an obvious Photoshop on the sign just above the bell housing too? Atlas didn't use come-alongs and chains tied to roof trusses and digital technology to make it look like he actually did work. lol
  20. And I'd like to add that I never considered St.Anger a Metallica Album, so it's not in any of my Discographies and I can't even remember more than the "St.Anger" song in the track listing.
  21. I got the Metallica Album. It falls somewhere between the Black Album and Load, and only two of the songs are under 7 minutes in length. Some are quite harder than Metallica's previous attempts at new rock. We can't expect them to be like they were before the Black Album because James' voice changed, he took vocal lessons, and he dulled his teenage voice to a point where it wasn't so obnoxious (the good obnoxious, though!... ) A lot of the songs I didn't appreciate until I listened more and more. Unforgiven III was nothing like Unforgiven or Unforgiven II, but I think it's my favourite song either way. It's quite "Load" like. I liked Load so it's all good =) The solo is awesome if you liked the similarily played solos from their string heavy songs like "Bleeding Me". I give this album a 9/10. I think Rick Rubin and the boys did right in kicking Bob Rock to the road-side. "how can I be lossssssssssst, when I got nowhere to gooooooo0o0o0o0..."
  22. I wouldn't say that's a cheap spray gun, I'd say it's an expensive can of spray-paint. It's good for colour matching parts if you've bought the paint and have something like a couple of intake pipes or brackets to paint, and maybe some discrete body touch-ups... but that's as far as I would take it.
  23. lol. took off the PS Pump and the AC compressor. Now I have to figure out now to get the intake pipe off and move the intake out of my way. What a pain! I wouldn't have to be working on either a VG30DETT or a ET if it wasn't for a stupid manifold stud!
  24. I think most of the RB guys set to factory specs and had the machine shop worry about matching what the FSM says. :-/
