  1. I got to corner work for my first time a few months ago, and have done it again since. Have to say, it is a really good experience, and gives a whole new perspective to the race, and racing in general. I particularly enjoyed watching different driver's lines, and which lines seemed the fastest, etc. Although I will admit, that even though all you're doing is standing there, concentrating on each car that goes by, and everything thats going on in the radio is actually quite exhausting. I slept like a baby each night after the races. (weekend event). Anyway, do your events also use a pace car/double yellow? that was the one flag i didn't see on your list, so was curious. Good write up.
  2. haha suppposed to say that BEFORE you put your own pics up As always, HybridZ is well represented.
  3. 1975 Datsun 280z Daniel Donkersloot Bellingham, WA
  4. well not a Z pretender....but close enough. Be sure to watch, if anything, the last minute or so. Priceless.
  5. welcome to the club hahaha. It took away like 5 hours of my life in a single shot, then another couple throughout the next days.
  6. well i guess its already been sold. At that price, im not surprised it sold pretty quick. But i have decided im gonna be on the hunt for another one of these. Maybe with a blown engine and swap in a EJ22. That'd be fun. From what i've been reading, they are a really easy swap too.
  7. agreed, new wheels are a must. But the rest of it is a great tribute to the classic design.
  8. ^^ haha my thoughts exactly. should be a good car for the Grand Forks, North Dakota winters hehe
  9. so thinking about buying a 1988 Subar RX turbo. 171k miles New head gasket new belts, new axles new seals new clutch new pressure plate new battery new radiator new hoses 3.7 LSD just needs some body work (little dent in the fender) he's asking $800. Im thinking this is a pretty good deal, as these cars seem to be fairly rare, and i would imagine they'd keep their value for a while. Anyone have any experience with these cars? I looked a little on nasioc, figured i'd ask here too. here's some pictures
  10. http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=837786 I think this is my favorite design. I still can't believe it worked lol.
  11. something like this? http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=839999
  12. Fantastic Contraption Be prepared to be stuck at your computer for hours....like me.... Fun though.
  13. it was. Although i heard that the mustang that actually did the drifting had a V8 in it. LOL Anyway that is one awesome car in the vid!!
  14. Hey, i do have a 1975 280z parts car if you need anything from that. About all i can think of from your list that i have left would be the brakes and the radiator. Although i have no idea what the condition of the brakes are.
  15. ^^ just remember, no matter how much you spend on paint, a good prep job is key. My car took about 3 months of prep (sanding, filling, primer, sanding, blocking, etc.) so factor that time in as well. And speaking of which, Jeffer949, for those of us who have been losers and not keeping up with your build, how long did it take you to prep? and what process did you use?
  16. i can't tell if its just the pictures, or if i see like a slight purpleish pearl to the paint? looks amazing! Looks really good. Can't wait to see it with the flares on, and everything cleaned up and back together
  17. although just looking at the two kits....i can't decide if the black one just mounted the flares farther up the fenders, or if they are indeed bigger flares. Notice how the red car has the side marker light, while there isn't enough room for one on the black car.
  18. Isn't that BurnoutZ's car? Could just ask him
  19. you could also just angle the seats inward, so the 'wings' clear the doors?
  20. wow i just read through this entire thread. I totally forgot about all this from when it started. Depending on final price, of course, I would be interested in one as well.
  21. either way, you'll have to drill holes into your fenders for the ZG flares, so you might as well just cut them while you're at it.
  22. sadly, it's not. I've seen these kits on Ebay just like the turbo simulators.
  23. man, I wish i was over on the west coast right now. I would totally help you out (vancouver isn't too far away, and neither is seattle). But i'm at School in Spokane, WA till the end of this month Excellent read though, although that really SUCKS!. Seriously sounds like something that would happen to me. (i've got a couple good stories haha) but nothing that bad (yet). Good luck to you!
  24. Haha fair enough^^ Anyway didn't mean to thread jack. Just thought that was interesting.
