  1. I think it means that the current GTR (2009) will be unique because it has the launch control feature. Future GTR's (2010+) won't have it anymore. I think thats what they're saying.
  2. World Drift Championship is on speedtv right now. Way better than FD imho. There's a local NW guy competing too. EDIT: i think that was a different competition that the local guy was in. Good watch anyway.
  3. ^well said. And the only reason i mentioned the cost, is cause, at least around here, you would spend about $200 on track fees alone for a road race event. Drifting, from what I have seen is about $50. I dunno, I guess they'd probably equal out in the end, but I can see the age demographic that seems to make up the majority of drifting, paying $50 easier than $200 at a time. It will be interesting to see what the new generation of foreign economical sports cars will do to the sport (Hundai Genesis, 370z, etc)
  4. Drifting isn't going anywhere I don't think. The tracks from Seattle to Portland are always booked throughout the season and tons of people come out to drift there. I think its popular cause, although there are costs of tires, its far cheaper than doing track days for road racing, plus anyone with a RWD car can give it a go. And I wouldn't go so far as to knock it down to a 'basic' skill. Yes any good driver should be able to get sideways, and get back out, but to actually 'drift' properly, I somewhat doubt many people even on here could get it right. But I guess this isn't a discussion of what drifting is. Like stony said, Its been around for decades in Japan, and that's not gonna change any time soon. But the popularity in the states will probably go in waves.
  5. My 280z is shaved. But it also looks like its meant to be that way. Haven't had a word said to me in over a year that its been on the road. Been pulled over for no front license plate though...
  6. There was a simmilar ad with a 300zx a few months ago. Divorced wife who doesn't drive, and has no use for the car, blah blah blah. $10 says its a scam.
  7. I read modified mag. It tends to keep out the rice and the hondas, they even called out on one of their 'readers rides' of having a carbon fiber sticker on his gas door. lol Good tech articles too.
  8. 6.xx on my first try. 200something on my second cause i accidently clicked lol i'll try again later.
  9. ^^x2 But anything Kameari is a great product and is worth the money, if its going to be used in the setting its designed for.
  10. I thought he was gonna eat it when he pitched it 90* before that building. Just nuts.
  11. Im fairly proud of these pictures actually. Just a samsung 7.2 Megapixel point-and-shoot. Automatic everything, no adjustments.
  12. I live about a mile from Fairchild AFB here in Spokane, WA. Got to see them practice for 2 days before their show. super cool!
  13. Yeah. I was just worried cause i didn't know what it would do. But thats exactly what i ended up doing. I went back, took the $$ and called it a night. thanks for all your input guys! Its good to know I can count on quick replies if i am stuck.
  14. ya know what, i think i might be outa luck I totally forgot it says that you're not supposed to leave the pump un-attended. I cant believe i was that stupid. I've always been super cautious about those sorts of things. Have a fire extinguisher in my car too. i just went and looked at the car and the paint and all, and there isn't any sign of damage from the gas. It looks like the car wash cleaned it right up. i hope this is a lesson to everyone not to leave the pump un-attended! Im gonna go back to the station and see if i can sort things out with him.
  15. Ok guys, this is an edited post. What I did was stupid, and I can't believe I didn't realize it. This is just to show everyone why it is so important to stay by your car when fuel is being pumped. Basically I went to use the restroom while i was letting the pump fill up my car (counted on the automatic shut off). It didn't shut off, and by the time I came outside, over 10 extra gallons had overflowed over my car. I was lucky, and got to it quick. I got it cleaned up, and thankfully the station payed for a free car wash. They ended up refunding me $25, and realizing my mistake, I took the deal. There isn't any damage to my car and its' been almost 4 hours now. I was lucky. Here are the pictures I took.

  17. Cool car. Almost has a little hint of rx-8 to it. I like it.
  18. Ended up just staying home, but I did carve a pumpkin this year...lol
  19. No he certainly doesn't, with good reason. But he should at least take comfort that he did absolutely everything he could do and ran an excellent race. Im still just blown away. Last turn, of the last lap, of the last race.
  20. Anybody catch the Brazil race just now? WOW what an incredible final 2 laps. Im still waiting to find out what happened to Glock in the last turn. I kind of wanted Hamilton to earn that win, but whatever, good race had by all. Masa did everything perfectly, and really he deserves a lot of credit to him. And Vettel's driving in semi-wet conditions holding off Hamilton was spectacular, even walking away from him it looked like. just wow.
  21. Yeah that vid was iffy, but it can be done. Like said above.
