  1. Hmmm...what speedo do you have? I am using an Autometer. I think the top pin is the reference signal. I had a problem calibrating my speedo (turns out there was a break in the wire from the T56 to the PCM. Anyways, Autometer was very helpful....try giving them a call.....
  2. The T56 has two wires. The yellow wire is the 5 volt reference signal and the purple is the ground. Both go to the PCM in the OEM configuration (LT1). IIRC, I tapped into the yellow....
  3. Have you seen the new SAAB 9-2, AKA SAABaru.......just a rebadged WRX essentially..
  4. AFAIK, he is still in good standing...after all, he is one of the 'founding' members..... Tim
  5. I was talking about membership age, as in the longer term members.....
  6. Put it on Ebay with a $200,000.00 reserve. See what it is bid up to. That will give you a good indication of what it is worth to the market. If the final bids are acceptable, contact the bidders and offer it at that price. Tim
  7. Denny, mudge, BLKMGK, etc etc etc Seems like some of the old faithfulls have been missing in action for a while?
  8. Hey if Drax can do it....! Just received my beautifully powdercoated valve covers (Man they look awesome in real life): Before the new covers: And after: And some body shots.....
  9. Found this listed on Ebay. A member here? I have never heard of this car, so likely not. Looks like it was nicely done!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=2481990683&rd=1
  10. Full text: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/state/20040617-0036-ca-smogfraud.html BTW...Sempra is the parent Co. of the one I work for.....
  11. Depending on the thickness of the base material, I usually 'push' the weld so that the metal ahead of the weld is heated more before the 'puddle' gets there. That's with thick stuff. Hopefully John C will chime in.
  12. Try a lighter grade of oil.....

  14. Damn Drax!!! That motor is almost as sexy as a V8 Looks bloody nice man!!
  15. IMHO anything that assists the driver in controlling the vehicle (ABS, traction Control, Active suspension, active Aero, etc) in a racing situation is bogus. I absoutely love watching old F1 coverage in heavy rain when Ayrton Senna, who was about 8 positions back before the rain, would absolutely dominate as soon as the track got slick. It took HP and chassis setup out of the equation and took it back down to the basics of racing......car control. Senna was a wizard....my favorite driver of all time (with Nikki Lauda, Fangio, Moss and Piquet right up there) Tim
  16. Nothing like lifting all 4 wheels off the ground to mess up an engine: http://www.realstreetcar.com/
  17. At the end of the day, it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So it comes down to finding the right person at the right time. As for buying one, if YOU think that it's a decent deal, then it is. If you can afford the asking price and you like the car, then market forces are somewhat irrelevent, esp. with something as niche as a V8 Z car....... Tim
  18. The unit has no labling on it to 'designate' it a R230, but it came out of a 93 Q45, and has the 6 bolt 'evenly' spaced flange and has the VLSD unit. I am pretty sure that it's a R230 unless someone can show me some 'real' evidence otherwise.... Tim
  19. Ask Owen about Sears welders..... I wonder if he used a Sears sledgehammer to 'correct' the problem.....
  20. It is placed in from behind, so it is larger than the HOLE, so it overlaps the fenders sheetmetal. I just held it in place with my hand and tacked it in several places. Then, once it was tacked enough to hold it in place, I let go and finished slowly welding it. I used compressed air to cool it a little between welds... Tim
  21. I welded mine...it's really the only 'right' way to do it for long term. Unfortunately mine are welded up, so i can't measure them for you. I just cut out a rectangle just larger than the hole and welded it in..... Just weld in very short bursts, in different areas, and you won't warp the metal. Tim
