I'm even more curious why he was searching for women's panties... Well...it was going to be a surprise...but since your birthday is coming up soon, John!!! Tim

I know..I know this has been posted several times before, but it seems to being ignored/forgotten by some... Many posts lately have had questions asked that, even with the most basic searching would have yielded the appropriate answers. PLEASE USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION. If after searching (using different search words/criteria if at first you don't find the answer) then feel free to post. I think it can be safely said that almost 100% of all questions have been touched upon several times over the years.....There really is very little about these cars that has not been discussed already. Please read all of the listed guidelines below. They are ALL important. #12 has been a problem of late too.... The text below has been discussed and agreed to by the Moderators and Administrators of the hybridZ site, and these rules, in light of some recent events, will be enforced more strictly than in the past in an effort to keep our little corner of the Net neat and tidy. 1. The purpose of this site is to discuss TECHNICAL topics that pertain to the modification of the Datsun/Nissan Z cars (240Z, 260Z, 280Z, 300ZX, 350Z). No thoughtful modification that enhances performance or styling will be put down. The philosophy is one of "parts is parts" - it doesn't matter what automaker originally made the parts, if you think that using those parts on your Z will add to it's performance or cosmetic appeal. But the emphasis is on FUNCTION, not the addition of graphics, wings, etc. to only make the Z LOOK like it is a high performance car. However, everyone has their own ideas of what stylish modifications look good or bad. 2. Please use the search function before you do anything else. The search button can be found at the top of the page. Use several keywords if you don't find what you need right off the bat. Remember: Just about every possible topic and problem has been posted and answered, in most cases several times. The Members on this board are very helpful and a great crowd of Z enthusiasts, but answering the same questions over and over again gets old. 3. Remember, this is a Hybrid site. Do not ever get on the purist Datsun/Nissan soapbox or promote Datsun/Nissan only swaps. The Admins/moderators will not tolerate this. The mere mention of keeping your Z "all Datsun" will be frowned upon. Several other sites exist for this mindset. 4. This site is based in the USA, and as such, text is to be written in English. There are web sites available on the web that can translate text from many recognized official languages to English, if you don't know it. (But then how could you read this? ) Gangster-slang, or any other cute, obtuse, street-talk dialects are not tolerated. Write in clear English that does not require a current knowledge of the latest street-slang. 5. Please post questions, comments, etc under the correct forum topic heading, and only post in one forum. For example, if you have a Chevy V8Z and have a question/comment on suspension setup, or drive train setup, etc, don't post it in the Chevy V8 section. Also, read the guidelines in the For Sale section. 6. If you have any real information to add to a post, or another related question about the same topic, please post. Otherwise, don't post if you are just guessing, but sounding like you have the definitive answer. Most folks like to get solid advice, and opinions on what ‘may’ be the correct direction are usually not helpful or wanted. Sometimes opinions will be requested, but these posts are easily recognized. 7. If you are planning a V8 swap into a Z (esp. SBC), please order the swap manual from http://www.jagsthatrun.com/ . Although this manual is specific to the early Z, it would be helpful to any swap. 8. Don't make personal attacks if someone disagrees with you (see #6), and don't take advice given personally. Typed text has no intonation, or expression and the members on this board sometimes come off as being rude, or impolite. Generally this is not the case, so please be a little thick skinned when advice is given that you may not agree with. 9. Please try to use correct spelling and grammar. Everyone makes mistakes, but a quick proofread of your post before you hit the "submit" button helps a bunch. Cut and paste your text to/from a Word processor, if you have questions about your spellings. This will help the search function work better as well. 10. If you frequently log in just read what's going on in HybridZ land, you may find the function "view posts since last visit" is generally the best bet. It will save you time instead of opening each forum individually. 11. If you are still unsure as to the functions of the site, feel free to Private Message "PM" a moderator or Admin. You will find a link to their "PM" by finding one of their posts and looking along the bottom of the post for the "PM" button. 12. If you post on this site, please make a good effort to post a topic "subject" title that is pertinent and descriptive of the subject what you want to convey. This is not the place to be VAGUE!! Enjoy your time on HybridZ.org. To many of us it's like a second home, and we try to keep it "tidy". Just think of you behavior on this site as if you were visiting someone else’s house.....good manners are always appreciated. Please do not post replies to this post! --------------------The Hybrid Z management----------------------------

Firm in Reverse - Mushy in Forward
Tim240z replied to Phantom's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Yeah what he said!! If it works well in reverse, but sucky in forward, it is definitely the adjusters. -
Grumps... No help on plans, but I've built a couple of trailers in my time, one was for my Dad's Trans-Am type racing car....break neck, enclosed double axle, ball connect trailer. I have used and love the Rub-Ax axles...the ones that use embedded rubber for suspension travel instead of leaf springs.....they are AWESOME.....town real nice, and even when empty, don't bounce around like a whore in heat..... Plan #1: Resist "while I'm at it" syndrome at all costs!!! Plan #2: Figure out what suspension to run (IRS --jag or Vette?, and maybe Mustang II front) Plan #3: Make use of the complete SBC and 200 4R in the garage Plan #4: Make a nice, reliable, mild HP, cruising car...Something to pile the family into and run up the coast.....etc...nothing too exotic this time.... Plan #5: A/C, Nice sound system, cushy seats, electric windows and locks etc... Tim -

I hate to be the wet blanket here, but the photos provided for our viewing pleasure by Eric Neyerlin are Copyrighted photos. I'm sure that you all understand the ramifications of that, legal and moral. That said, anyone who has copied these pictures to their hybridZ album, or other location has done so illegally. Please respect the author/provider of these images and delete any copies and refrain from further postings of them. I'd hate to see things get out of hand here (legally), and I am not singling anyone out. I will leave it to the individual(s) to delete where necessary. Thanks for your understanding in this matter......I think that it would be wise to request permission from the image'owner' before using photos....just to be polite and safe....

Oh sorry.....got too into the story telling to worry about the fine details... 1940 Chevrolet 4 door Deluxe Something like this, but in need of a bit of restoring: Tim -
Well, I will be diving in at the deep end, starting on a project that I've wanted to do for a really long time....a full chassis car....now I can really let the creative juices flow, a blank canvas, and one that will withstand my coarse handlings..... For the time being, I will be hanging onto the 'Goose. I was talking to her the other day and I think she began to feel sad, and I noticed a small weeping of clean oil under her.....so she will be staying around a while..... Well, on to the new endevour!! I noticed a sign staked into a front lawn here in town (3 blocks away). My wife and I (after getting a babtsitter for the night) went for a stroll through town....not something that we generally do...with the beach so close and all.... Anyways...back to the sign...just a hand written 2' x 2' paper, on two rods, punched into the grass. I didn't think much of it, but after a while, and lots of wife yakking, my mind retreated to the rear depths and began to mull over the advert. The next day I suggested we walk to pick up the rug rat from pre-school....and wonder of wonders, we had to walk past that same house..... Sign still in place,...requesting the sum of 4000 smackeroons. Knocked on the door and Moses' older brother answers. I took a good look around the vehicle...pretty good shape....garaged since he bought it (second owner). All there, and all original...motor frozen. Got his phone number and bid him adeau! Called 4 days later and offered him 3000 smackeroons. He decided that some thought was warranted.....considering his many years....I expected a long process here......I was correct. He called this evening accepting my fine offer of consideration for exchange of the motorized carriage. He shoots...he scores!!!!!! He needs a few days to move his lifetime collection of ancient artifacts from around the vehicle, then it's all mine!!! And so begins the next crusade...in search of the just and pure pathway to hot rod bliss...... Tim

Just for reference: I made my own lower mount (similar to the JTR one I think), and I used a 6 Cylinder (I think) Camaro top mount and fan....

Not knowing the flow and pressure numbers on the nissan pumps, I am just guessing, but I would imagine that the ZXT pump is the 'stronger' one, which would then make the 2nd pump irrelevent, and it may actually be hindering things. Fuel pressure gauge would be next on the list...... Tim
