  1. It doesn't make sense not to put relays in. It's 5 bucks and 5 minutes to do!! Not doing it is definitely false economy!! Tim
  2. I think I remember this one up for sale, maybe ebay, sometime ago. Tim
  3. I know I've said this before, but I've driven a 1000hp RX7. Had a Lingenfelter Chev V6 with two fans producing 25lbs of boost. Narrowed ford 9" with detroit locker, ZF six speed, tubbed with 335mm wide tires. That thing was a monster and would paint stripes on the freeway at 70mph with very little effort. Brings a big grin to my face just thinking about it!!!! Tim
  4. Mike, Several guys have been emailing me and PM'ing me about the flanges. If y'all can get together, I'm sure the price would be better. Tim
  5. Maybe some of the silver sided fiberglass(or is it still asbestos) sleeving similar to the oem stuff on the early Z's fuel lines. Or you could maybe fab up a SS shield? Something like this: Or something like this?: Tim
  6. Power to weight is a very important concept. 300hp in a ZX is like 350hp in a Z. I'm not yet at an age where comfort overrides power. Maybe in another 10 years or so!! Tim
  7. You got that thing running yet? Tim
  8. Scottie, Mybe Keith will chime in, but if not, I recommend give a REAL expert a call. Try BowtieOverdrives or someone of equal caliber in your local jurisdiction. Sounds like a question for an experienced person.
  9. Get a tube bender like this, they work very nicely: Tim
  10. Good call Jim! I met my fist girlfriend at traffic school when I was 16. (58 in a 35 zone in Del Mar, CA). HMMMM...that brings back fond memories!! Tim

    Oldsmobile 403

Jerrick, Moved this to the Chevy V8 board for you... Tim
  12. You may want to look into the 'Rocket block'. Give Scoggin Dickey a call. Tim
  13. I'm waiting on all my parts for my Megasquirt. When it's together, I'll have to look into this!! That's of course if I'm successful with my build up of the 'Squirt. Tim
  14. If you really want to pursue this, try calling Vic Edelbrock, in Torrance, CA. Edelbrock is getting pretty heavily into the import scene. I doubt that it would be cost effective for them and they will likely not want to do it, but they would be the best to talk to. Tim
  15. Could be vapor lock in your fuel lines. Check if the lines are near a source of heat, or getting hot. Try relocating, or wrapping the lines. Tim
  16. One thing to keep in mind, well 2 actually: 1: It can be difficult to beat the price on a crate motor by building one yourself. Crate motors have become very reasonably priced, and have good quality parts (depending on vendor) 2: You get a warranty on a crate motor. Look at Scoggin Dickey parts center or Jim Pace etc.... The ONLY reasons to build yourself would be if you want a very specific build spec (performance goals that aren't offered as a crate), or to be able to say,"Yeah, I built that!!" Tim
  17. Scottie, If you don't have any luck on the board, try giving http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/ a call. They specialize in GM overdrives, and from the couple of conversations I've had with them, they appear very knowlegeable and experienced. If you don't feel like going to the link, here is their phone number:760 947-5240 Tim
  18. Hey, hey, hey, easy does it!! ......I'm only 30!! Tim
  19. I would guess that $1200 might do it if you already have the engine and gearbox and car, even then it will be tight. Tim
  20. I did the web thing about two years ago. Although it has a time stamp so you can't just zip through it, I just did work in the mean time. Took me about 20 minutes of actual work to complete it, and the online company took care of ALL the paperwork (sending completion records to teh court etc). Cost was about $20. Great deal!!!! I got a list of 'approved' web sites from the court when I signed up, Tim
  21. What self-respecting shop would do that!!! Tim
  22. Take the car to a speedo shop and have them verify the difference. It'd be a shame to waste your traffic school "get out of jail free" card if you can get out of it another way? Tim
  23. ROTFLMAO!! ha ha that's good, Dale. Tim
  24. The saddest part is that these guys obviously have skills, but are sorely lacking in the taste department!! Tim
