    Hey where are U?
  3. Check out some of the cool UK based drag Zs...very cool: Here's the link Here is the ZX G-Nose kit: I HAVE seen this on a web page based here Stateside, but not sure where!! Tim
  4. I got them beat by at least a year!!Damn, I'm so smart, I should have been twins!! Tim
  5. Dude I told you to call me ....can you imagine trying to explain THAT in text, holy crap it would have been like the old homework assignment in school to write directions to tie a shoelace, step by step!!!! BTW, I'm sure that you could wire it in such a way that a neutral light would come on if none of the microswitches were closed...that would save the $$ on one extra switch. And I bet the little door sill switches that turn on the dome light when the door opens would work for this application...real low buck job. Fryes has LEDs cheap too!! Tim
  6. Depends how long they have been making them, I did my Land Rover Overdrive indicator over 10 years ago!The idea is very simple and I think the T56 shifter is well suited to the application. BTW, I definitely wouldn't put the LEDs on the shifter knob....kinda defeats the purpose don't yas think? If you have to loook down at the knob, then you would most likely be able to tell the gear merely by where the shifter is..... Tim
  7. Check out Scoggin Dickey's web site. They have the flow numbers in their printed catalogue, but I don't have that with me, but I'm sure that they would have some numbers on their site, or if you call them they can tell you. But if I remember correctly, they don't flow that well, and you would be better off with some Canfields or AFRs, or Victor Jrs. Tim
  8. Hmmm, R200 or R230...I dunno either... Sorry, that's really corny..Nion, sorry to jack your thread.... Tim
  9. Double check the firing order of the plug wires from the distributor to the plugs. Make sure that number one is at TDC on the compression stroke and makesure the rotor is lined up with the number one plug wire in the cap. If the timing is at least close and there's fuel, it should idle, even if it is rough. Also check for vacuum leaks around the manifold/head surface. That's all I can think of. Tim
  10. I am totally rewiring the V8 Z this weekend and I am not sure on where to put the fuses on the circuits that have relays. Do I put a fuse inline on the wire going from the battery to the relay, or do I put the fuse inline on the wire from the power to the switch which feeds the relay, or both. For example: Do I put a fuse on the wire from the headlamp switch to the relay, or from the power to the switch, or from the power supply to the headlamp relay? Both seems a little overkill, but I am just not quite sure. Thanks, Tim
  11. Can you be a little more specific on which bolt....maybe I'm just retarded but I can't tell from you post. You must have some pretty cheap sockets if they are breaking. Usually the bolt will strip or break first. Have you tried penetrating oil (wd40 or the like)? Try squirting it regularly over a few hours then let it sit for a few hours and try again. If that doesn't work, go to the store and get a nut splitter and break it apart and replace it...again I'm not sure which bolt it is so this may not be possible. Tim
  12. Here you go man:(BTW, I meant a WEB search, not a forum search ) Starter button install page Sorry, I shouldn't have been so damn lazy in the first place...take that and that Tim
  13. That is a very relative statement. Personally, I don't think that it is all that difficult. Sure it's not bolt in like a R200 is, but the diffs in the JYs are going to have many less miles on them, will be newer, have no wear out LSD parts (viscous) and have CV jointed strong half shafts. And best of all, Infinity is Nissan, so you it will still be all Nissan (don't flame me guys...just poking fun ) But if $$ are a major concern, then yes, the R200 is the way to go. Does anyone know what the life expectancy is on the LSD clutches in the LSD units that Mike is currently flogging? Tim
  14. Would it work to get one of those kevlar blankets that the drag guys use and put it over the tunnel on the inside of the car. I'm sure not as effective as the real thing, but should afford at least a good to fair degree of protection? Tim
  15. Good point Grump. I have seen first hand what a piece of flywheel can do to the bones of the human foot. NOT PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I have seen what a car fire can do to human skin and muscle. NOT PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having been in the pits of Grand Prix caliber race tracks since I was kicking my mummy's kidneys around, I have seen it all ...first hand, and it ain't nice.....safety should be be the first thing on your mind when designing/redesigning the systems in/on/under your car. Tim
  16. Rated, I am using a 'big red button' from a Honda S2000. I have placed it in my dash in place of the cigar lighter. I think it looks wuite at home there. I have some pics of my dash on my site. The wiring instructions can be found on the web. I have the URL somewhere, but if you do a search on 'big red button' you will find it, or if you are interested, just let me know and I will post the url. I just received my fuse box from Waytek and will be doing the wiring this weekend. BTW, the fuse box is beautiful. Really compact, can carry 20 circuts (16 on one section and 4 on another). It only cost 40bucks, which is way cheaper than anything Painless or other such places sell. Tim
  17. Hey Van, Thanks for the info. Do you know of any way to apply for a legal exemption (I know that there is a way out of smog requirements for 500 cars per year in CA for altered/custom vehicles) to that section of the California vehicle code? I have read through the code several times and haven't found anything. I realize that this is not that big of a deal, leagally, and most likely will only result in a fixit ticket, but there will be other things on my car that could be a bigger issue and I don't want the bumper (most visible) issue to lead to closer inspections of other systems....ie smog equipment, fuel tank venting etc., which although exempt from regular testing, I will not be going through the inspection procedure, so technically my conversion will be illegal as a whole. Thanks, Tim p.s. I would like to see your Z, and am in Riverside fairly regularly.
  18. There's some pics on my site also. Tim
  19. Volvo S70 Turbo. Best of all worlds....comfortable, safe, stylish, and quick. Holds its value well too. Tim
  20. Maybe we should just show up at the next Corvette or Viper test day (aka gatecrash) and show 'em up? Tim
  21. This probably won't mean that much to you, but according to the California Vehicle Code, the vehicle must retain the bumpers that the factory fitted to it. It goes into a whole bunch of details on what a bumper actually is and the performance of it. Food for thought. BTW, I am not fitting bumpers...to hell with them! Tim
  22. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I do seem to remember a post where someone had a link to a site from someone in Japan, I think, who was swapping in a Q45 motor. The reason I remember the post, more than because it was a Q45 motor, was because of how really sanitary the engine bay was and the very intricate bends in the stainless steel headers. Does this jog anyone else's memory? Tim Edit: My bad. It turns out to be a Lexus V8 swap that I was thinking of. However, in my searching of the archives I found this post which is four pages worth of chat on the subject. One member actually stated that he was busy with this swap, but I don't remember him posting again since that post. Tim
  23. Craig, I left that piece behind (the channel like thingy), but mine is a 240z,not sure if there's a difference. Both the 200 4R that I originally planned to run, and the T56 fit fine. Tim
  24. Me thinks, that's not a real ZR1. If it is, then someone please slap the bastard Tim
