  1. Here it is in action: (BTW, they call them "Pigs" because back in the day, they used tools made of leather and when they went through the pipeline, the leather against the steel made a squeeling sound like a pig) Here is some background if anyone is interested. http://www.bjservices.com/website/index.nsf/P&S?openframeset
  2. Posts made on the "NonTech" forum do not count towards post count, and your last series of posts were on that forum. Tim
  3. Did you read these: http://forums.hybridz.org/announcement.php?f=65&a=2 See halfway down (classifieds posting rules). Maybe something there can answer your questions? Tim
  4. Mike, I have a 750 DP Holley that you are welcome to borrow. PM me. Tim
  5. The only advantage that I could see by putting forth the effort to finish the ceiling would be some extra reflection for the lighting (white painted ceiling), but that is a lot of work. Plus I store stuff up there.
  6. Since Mattel has its headquarters here in town, I get them directly from the source, for next to nothing.....you would be amazed at how hard core the Hot Wheels collectors are!!!
  7. I reorganized mine last year. It was way overdue! Before: After:
  8. Sorry for not keeping up on your progress, Bart! If you still have the 'old' opti, you could swap them and see if your problem remains. IMHO, the opti is always blamed, but is rarely the actual problem..... Tim
  9. Bart, The opti on that engine was brand new from GM. When you got the engine, it had about 500 miles on it. I installed new coil, coil module, and wires at the same time. The knock sensor, MAP sensor, and O2 sensors were also new genuine GM units. My bet is on fuel. Tim
  10. There has been a very nice response and we are almost there!! Keep it up guys. Dan is too proud/modest to ask himself, but I know he appreciates every penny!! Every little bit helps, guys. Thanks from your HZ admin staff!!
  11. Kudos Phil!! Come on guys....lets get this rolling. Every bit helps. I would hate to see this board go down permanently because Dan can't afford to keep it going. If nothing else, think of it as a magazine subscription. What magazine do you know of that provides information as focused and valuable as this site does. Pull out the cushions in the sofa and grab up some dough!! They turnout so far has been dismall!! I'm sure that Dan would appreciate every penny!!
  12. Made this a sticky. Guys, Dan is doing a LOT of work in the background and the maintenance and upgrades are being carried by him and his credit cards. We have a good membership base and if we all just give a little, it will go far in keeping this site up and technologically up-to-date. As Davy mentioned above, you can click on the Donate button above, or if you need to send a cheque or money order, just PM any of the Admins/Moderators or Dan himself and you can get an address to mail it to.

    Snake ID

I almost stepped on this one about 3 months ago whilst doing a site survey in a creek at the bottom of a canyon. Gave me the shivers.....Southern Pacific Rattler. Froze in my tracks then slowly backed away.

    Snake ID

Looks to be an Eastern Milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum triangulum). One of the more common snakes in your area. Tim
  17. A bit of real world experience: When I replaced the hood on my 71 C20 truck (rust issues), I decided to use a cowl induction hood instead of a plain one. One Saturday I spent all day washing, polishing, waxing and buffing the truck...looked great (but I digress).... The next morning I went for a drive on the freeway. There was a bunch of water droplets all over the truck (overnight dew). As I drove, I noticed that the water from the hood, and the windshield cowl was actually getting 'sucked' into the opening of the cowl induction of the hood. This began happening at about 35-40mph, and became more vigorous as speeds increased (got up to 80MPH before backing out). That made me a believer. Tim
  18. Jon has asked nicely and you haven't paid attention. Use the search function....this is a well discussed topic.....feed yourself before asking to be spoon-fed. Closed.
  19. Don't diagnose a problem by throwing new parts at it. 1. Check to make sure that the distributor is seated correctly on the intake and that you have a little up and down play on the shaft (not binding). If it is binding add some shims between the intake and dizzy. 2. Disconnect and plug the vac. adv. line. 3. With the timing light, make sure that the ign. is advancing smoothly via the mech. advance. 4. Make sure that the coil and plug wires are testing out correctly with an ohm meter. 5. Make sure that you are getting fuel. Check the float levels and linkages. 6. Is it manual or auto? Tim
  20. Can't wait to see the final product, Van!!
