  1. As rediculous as the wheels are, the paint and airbrush work appears to be very well done. It is a shame really that all that talent was misdirected......
  2. See post #8 for a grainy picture of a Capri Pirhana: http://www.gt40s.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12829&highlight=capri+pirhana http://www.capriv8.de/perana-engl.html
  3. The ones posted above are MkIIIs, the one in the first post by Mat is a MkI. Cool cars.....
  4. Bart, I still have the TunerCat system for that engine...... Tim
  5. Yeah...my Dad used to race them in the 70s. The Capri Pirhana was a 302ci factory tuner....
  6. I have no hats, t-shirts or caps left. It is a REAL PITA to do this....a lot of time spent running around and packing stuff and shipping.... On the other hand, if there is enough of a demand, I will buckle down for the greater good. Tim
  7. It would be kinda fun to have a car that was built to the hilt with the collective knowledge and experience and monetary might of this site. Logistics would be challenging for sure, but in essense it is a great idea. On a side note. After doing some clean up and organizing yesterday, I found a few of the HybridZ decals that were left over from the T-shirt, cap and decal effort from last year. I have 7 of them. They were stored in a FedEx envelope and are in brand new condition. If anyone that missed out last year wants one, let me know via PM. They originally sold for $20 shipped. Tim
  8. You must have lived a clean life and have a good sense of morality.....good karma has settled on you like a wet blanket on a pile of leaves!! Well done!! Congrats on chasing down a great find!
  9. I love the smell of chemical warfare in the morning!! BTW...it is not considered overboard if it works!!
  10. Yeah...don't bother trying to save the gasket, you will either damage the rubber, or break the glass. IF you do manage to get both out in one piece, it is going to be near impossible to get that old, hard rubber back in.....just cut it out like Jon says above and get a new gasket......Trust me....been there done that.
  11. Tony, I believe that the SJV has actually exceeded the LA basin in bad air quality..... Tim
  12. I saw several reviews from the automotive press/web reviews etc, and ALL of them said (and rated) the Jeep as very bad in the reliability department. This worried me. Once review site actually said that the Jeep was a good buy if you could have a tow truck follow you everywhere! Again, this got me thinking against the Jeep. However, I asked LOTS of Jeep Cherokee owners (here and elsewhere), even stopping folks in parking lots when I saw they had one. Not one of them had any major issues....the odd water pump, alternator, fuel pumps etc. All had 150k+ miles on them......the above issues are normal maintenance issues IMHO. Well....the fact that I bought a Jeep speaks for itself.... Tim
  13. Who in their right minds takes a car to a dealer to get serviced? Dealerships are for new cars with warranties, or those who can't read a FSM or hold a wrench on their hands.... I have spoken to literally dozens of people who own, or have owned a jeep with the 4.0L drivetrain and EVERY single one of them have had nothing but good things to say about the reliability. All those that I have spoken to have had almost 200k or more miles on their vehicles with zero issues. That was enough for me..... Trust me, I have very little faith in the reliability of domestics vs. the imports, but the Jeep's track record, according to my digging, is stellar. BTW Mike....thanks for the links, but this one is staying tame....no mods. Tim
  14. Well....I took some of your advice! I just picked up a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 with the 4.0 I6. It has 101k miles on it, but has been very well maintained. It has new tires, shocks, brakes, stereo with single CD and LCD ceiling mounted movie player. Red with tinted windows.
  15. Here are some more. The truck now has a 99 suburban L31 Vortec 5.7 and 4L60E, and leather second row seat from a 99 Burb.
  16. My vote would be for a 67-72 chevy or GMC. I am biased, but they are great old trucks...tough as nails and drive nicely. Lots of aftermarket/restoration/upgrade support. Coil spring (control-arm) rear suspension, disk front brakes (70-72) etc etc. Lots of info here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/forumdisplay.php?f=3 Here is mine. You won't find a double cab, but your other requirements will be met. Tim
  17. I know I have posted this before, but I have personally driven a Lingenfelter 4.8L (based on the 4.3) TT in a first gen RX7 that put 1000hp to the crank....what a rush!!
  18. He has slapped his name on a variety of products, everything from raisins, meal bars to salsa and sauces. Pretty good stuff! Most, if not all, of his products are organic and very tasty! Tim
  19. It's a girl in a swimsuit...completely covered...what's the problem....there is more skin shown on billboards on the side of the freeway!
  20. The driver in the second Video is Jacques Laffitte, a very good F1 driver in his day! Won 2 championships for Williams (Marlboro). He retired in 1986 after the British GP at Brands Hatch after a big crash where he broke both his legs. He then, after recouperating, went on to race British British Touring Cars. He is now a television commentator.....
  21. I have an urge to spank her.....very very naughty!
  22. IN thru the the side opposite the electricals, out thru the side with the wiring. On high pressure pumps the larger diameter nipple is almost always the inlet (from the tank)
  23. ^^^^^^^ Those pics are very useful......as what NOT to do:D Cinderblocks are very suspect for use as jack stands...they tend to fail with no warning at all.....
