  1. Rufus, The ignition switch is on the dash, not the column, so no prevention there!
  2. Now we're cooking with Gas!!! Sounds like a plan, Dave!
  3. Thanks Davy. Well....the seats came out of a GM vehicle, so I doubt they are 'fine' leather....probably from some 10 year old burro from south of the border, but they look nice. Well....I figured I can't go wrong with McGuires products so I bought a bottle of "Gold Class Rich leather cleaner/conditioner".....I will see how it works later. Tim
  4. Took the truck for a run today....just 5 miles or so to get it up to speed and get a feel for the new drivetrain. Boy having the overdrive with the lockup converter is sweet!!! So smooth, and with the new exhaust system, nice quiet. The new leather seats are wayyy comfortable......just gotta get some isolators for the low pressure pump....it vibrates pretty loudly....
  5. Just run it through a relay and use the horn to gound the relay (switch feed pole). Shouldn't be a problem until you try to use the horn out of habit.
  6. Looks like the air line....needs about 3 more feet of it by the looks of things!
  7. Great setup for a Z car....ready to run. I'll even throw in a set of blockhugger headers: http://classifieds.hybridz.org/showproduct.php?product=822&sort=1&cat=last7&page=1
  8. Anyone have any good recommendations on which products work best for cleaning grime and grease marks out of light tan colored leather. The leather seats that I put in the Truck are in need of a good cleaning, otherwise they are in great shape. Never had leather to clean before and I suspect there are hundreds of products out there in the parts stores, some likely work better than others......
  9. So spill the beans....who did you find that!!
  10. WOW!! Someone who actually read the rules prior to their first post!!! Well done Ol' Chap!! Anyways, there is a Company in Ohio that bought all of Az Z car's molds. I posted the info a while back in the non tech forum. Unfortunately I deleted the email they sent me from my inbox. If all else fails, you could always build your own set from scratch. Good luck, and well done with raising your kid the right way. Tim [edit] Here is the info on the new Company that bought the molds [/edit]
  11. Well...if you get caught street racing in CA now, they just crush your car....not worth it...take it to the track
  12. Post in one forum per topic. Thanks. Duplicate post deleted.
  13. Just posted the 350 that I took out in the classifieds!
  14. Yup....I've been to 3 parts stores for a radiator hose for the truck conversion, and each one of them had no problem with me snooping around the back room.....just take a deep breath and have lots of patience, like Dave says. It helps if you can cut up some old ones and tape them together into the correct shape to give you something to go by in the store....

    Fuel lines

Aluminum is much easier to work with!! Both to bend and to double flare. I used rubber covered 'P' clamps every foot or so to secure them. Stainless is nice, but a bear to flare. Tim
  16. You guys might as well give up now!!
  17. Did you also have the decks of the block checked for flatness? I have heard from several folks that those copper gaskets are terrible unless all mating surfaces are absolutely perfect!!
  18. hmmm....that's just down the road from me.......
  19. All Items shipped yesterday early morning via USPS priority mail. East coast guys expect them to arrive by friday, everyone else should get them today or tomorrow. Tim (Bob and Gabe, yours still to ship)
  20. Same with the F-body cars....only way is to leave the motor in place and remove the car....
  21. Just check on your fuel line size. The barbed fittings are 9mm, which is smaller than 3/8". 3/8" = 9.525mm
  22. Mat, Z-Dreamer picked up a bitchin deal on a BB truck on the 68-72 truck forum boards. They are great trucks....coil springs all around, big ol disks up front, power steering and tons of room for working on the engine. There are some nice ones on ebay right now too. There is a great panel truck (suburban without the windows) on ebay too. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/index.php3?
