  1. I've been looking through the old posts on "Which EMS is best?", but I think there have been some advancements since, so I figured "why not throw out the question again?" Which aftermarket Engine Management System is best? Cost, support, features, datalogging, user friendliness, etc etc....

Please do not post your topics in more than one forum...Please read the following: http://hybridz.org/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=24170
  4. The Harbor Freight welders aren't bad at all (I have a 230V flux core unit). The only problem with them is that I was unable to find a gas set-up for mine, even though it can be used as a true MIG....I have since bought a 115V Miller with shielding gas and I can tell you that the difference is amazing.....I only will use my Harbor Freight unit for very thick steel now..... If you can at all afford it, buy a good name brand unit....NOT Sears.....
  5. Maybe...if you have all the parts and tools on hand, can fabricate on the spot and have a decent wrenching touch.... Tim
  6. This Country is going to be in trouble until the Tort system is overhauled...damn lawyers!!! Tim
  7. Powdered paint is electrostatically attracted/attached to the part. Then the part is heated which melts the paint to the part....that's it in a nutshell...

    First Drive!

So where are the pictures and details!!
  9. I have removed several sets of struts without compressors. With the suspension loaded (on the car), I wrap coat hanger wire at two places on the spring and make it as tight as I can, then pull the struts out of the car, then take off the top nut with an impact wrench (pointing the strut away from anything in case).....putting the springs back on is a bit tougher..... Tim
  10. Your weight statement is likely incorrect, esp. if using a turbo.... Tim
  11. I use sony imagestation. Free and the only real downside is that the pictures are resized (smaller than the original). Tim
  12. I think the Scooby Doo bobble head on the dash says it all.....
  13. ABSOLUTELY hideous!!! Just because you can, doesn't mean you should!!!
  14. JTR now makes both the spacers and setback plates out of aluminum...
  15. The VIN is held in the PCM. Not sure how you can get to it, maybe a Chevy dealership can help out? The mileage should also be in the PCM.
  16. I bought 16 x 8 centerlines with 5" backspacing with coilovers. No flares or other mods....245/45-16 tires (rims and tires for sale BTW)
  17. Only because I think that we should be thankfull for what we have everyday, not just one arbitrary day out of the year..... It was certainly not meant to detract from the topic begining at all....
  18. Got them from some Government website, can't remember which one. The data are from 1999.... Tim
  19. Today is better for some than others: Today will produce the following in America: 2000 deaths from heart disease 1500 deaths from Cancer 340 deaths from respitory disease 300 from medical mistakes 268 from accidents (home, auto, etc) 187 from diabetes 150 from suicide 145 from homocide A small tidbit on what will happened today..... Any day that involves breathing is good in my book! This getting all sentimental one day out of the year.... Just IMHO.... Tim
  20. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MICRO MILL/DRILL Precision milling and drilling at a price you can afford Designed for use with steel, brass, aluminum, plastic andwood Cast iron base and main post with steel gear housing for rigidity Machined and ground ways for effortless table and mill head movement Dual speed range Dial adjustments for lead screws calibrated in thousandths of an inch Item #: 47158-1VGA $279.99 http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=47158 Looks promising....but only 2 speeds....I guess it comes down to: get a tool that does 1 thing well, or get a tool that does 2 things so-so?
  21. You can thin plastic filler with a product called "honey" (I think that's the name). I used it and it works really nice. makes the filler really really smooth....I used yogurt consistency as a guide
