  1. I would also like to see the fitment on this and see how it holds up to some punishment...
  2. HaHa funny thing was that was on my trip down from Oregon and that 30mpg was on a mix of Oregon and Cali gas. Dont know what I get down here yet.
  3. I have a rb25det in my 280z and I get 30mpg on the freeway....just saying to compare with turbo'd motors.
  4. Nice, I just got gloss black wheels with a chrome lip aswell. I love how that manifold looks, I still dont know what Im gonna go with...Havent looked much Im goin gt35r and top mount manifold.
  5. Personally in my plans I have a gt35r going on my rb25. I know that gt35's are good for around 500-600 hp and also they arent too laggy. Im aimin for 350-400whp and Ill be good. I have seen them on 800hp cars tho, dont know how long they last or how much they are boostin but I have seen it. If you think your gonna want more of a punch and later on go for more power then possibly a gt42r. More laggy but serious hp. Lovin the car man let us know what you end up going with!
  6. That picture brings a tear to my eye.. Seriously that is beautiful, also what color did you use for you cam covers and coilpack/center cover?? Im thinking about going with flat black and gloss black accents with my RB25. Looks great man keep up the good work!!!
  7. Power=good looks=depressing v6=not impressed quad 3 inch exhaust=i like Heard they are going with a 7-speed paddle shift...Is it just me or does that just take the point away from driving a manual??
  8. Those tires weren't good for today in Arizona!!!! I couldn't get traction in first, second, didnt wanna try for third too wet...but it was great!
  9. What is there to say....besides that this car is crazy!!! Looks sick keep up the good work and maybe someday ill take you:lmao:
  10. Was a machinist in my senior year of high school and for 4 months after that then I moved to Arizona and now I work at a UPS store and goin to school to be a certified mechanical technician...if thats what you want to call it:) .
  11. Had mine brought to me by AAA and the car was donated to me:mrgreen: . Car sat in a garage for 15 years and I got it from the original owner. The fuel pump went out in 1989 so he parked it in his garage and put a cover over it. Still had the '89 tags when I got it in 2004 and it still has the original yellow Oregon plates. Still have the tag from the drivers side sun shade explaining to the driver not to race the car during warm up haha. Definitly has come a long way since I got it.
  12. No tires are up in the air but still it wouldnt make a difference on the frame mounts. The metal clamp wont pinch together enough so I can get both bolts in strait. Its because the poly bushing is so thick that the holes dont match up. I think today Im just gonna end up drilling holes all the way through the frame and welding thicker metal plates on each side to reinforce it since I need some type of reinforcement anyways.
  13. I just got my rear sway bar on and went on to the front one but Im having trouble with it. Holes for the frame mounts arent lining up. I tried pinching the clamp over the bushing but I couldnt get the holes close enough. Anyone else have this problem?? Help? They are Suspension Techniques 1 1/8 front and 7/8 rear.
  14. For a reliable 500whp sr20 I would have atleast $8000 including price of motor. And thats not including the cost of putting it in the car.
  15. I work for a UPS store...ALWAYS INSURE YOUR PACKAGE!! We have too many people that insure jewelry thats worth $1000 and insure it for $100 bucks...It gets lost, guess how much they get..$100 bucks and they come back at us because they dont get their $1000 back. You can also tell the people when they send the package out to have a SIGNATURE REQUIRED. Its usually like 3 or 4 bucks extra but then you know for a fact if you didnt sign for it and someone else did they stole it. This sucks that this happened to you and just work with UPS and aslong as its insured you'll most likely get your money back.
  16. What! Thats rediculous! I tried to get a alternator from them and they told me $110 used before shipping. Maybe I had a bad experience....
  17. What do you mean by very neutral? How long have you had your bars on? Also what type of driving do you do? Basically I will be doing mostly street driving but autocrossing and drifting when the events come up. Its hard to practice drifting without doing it illegally but I want to try and find owners of businesses who dont care about their parking lots which is also hard. They had an event for UTI last month but too bad the school screws you over to make you pay $250 for two days.
  18. Throw Venus Auto in California in with the bunch. Cut wiring harness, wrong ignitor on the motor. They dont help you out with replacement parts either, you get what you get.
  19. Yea, stiffer=better for drifting but too stiff can hurt you. I think I will go with this kit and I have an idea for reinforcement.
  20. Dont forget Im gonna use the car for drifting so I want a stiff setup, and I dont care if its stiff on the road. I eat and breathe cars so stiffness isnt a worry to me. And i know of a way to reinforce the front frame so they wont rip out.
  21. Ya I want oversteer so with reinforcement and the kit will make me happy haha. Ill search for some pics, thanks guys
  22. Car is gettin wheels and going into paint soon. Gonna do some body work along with front air dam and 240z bumper conversion. Ordering sway bars next week.
  23. Hey all, I have been searching for sway bar options throughout this forum and found some good input. I want a stiff setup of for autocross and drifting so I was considering the 1 1/8 front and 7/8 rear suspension techniques kit but I wanted some input from people that have used them. I also read that you want reinforcement up front because of the sway bar being so stiff. Anyone have pics of there setup like this?? Also anyone have any input on if this setup is too stiff or just right? I have motorsport springs with macphearson struts. Also Im planning on gettin the sportmax 15X8 with 0 offset wheels for my Z. I have seen proxlamus' car with these wheels and they look great. I wanted to go with a lil smaller sidewall and was wondering if anyone had any pics of a Z running these wheels with 225/50r15's. I have seen the pic of the green one but anyone have a car with them on that is lowered, mine is probably 1.25" lower then stock and I just want to see some lowered Z's with these wheels. Any input would be awesome Thanks guys
  24. Mine does the same exact thing too, 10-12 volts on start up, rev it up and it jumps to 14 and holds till you turn the car off. Im really interested now
