The N42 will work just fine with either/or engine you build. I say, since you already have the N42, go with that head. Our buddy TimZ on this board, runs the N42 on his turbo Z, and is in the 500 hp range, so I'd say it'll do for a turbo or n/a set-up.

James, 240z Twin Turbo and I just talked about that part this week. He is making up some for his Z and wanted to know if I was ready yet to put the GN trans in my turbo L6 Z. If he dosen't see this post and chime in, I'd try emailing him and ask him to make you one also.... worth a shot....

I had that problem also. What I did was use a center punch to put a dent in the center of broke off bolt, and used a 1/8" drill bit to drill a pilot hole. Then I used a bit the next size larger than the orig hole to drill all four holes to prepare for the use of a tap. I then used a fine thread tap ( sae non-metric size if I remember right) to re-tap the slightly larger holes, and bought fine thread grade 8 bolts. I belive I also had to slightly enlarge the x member holes for the new bolts.

It's not the same as 240. The 260 has the shock absorber in their set-up. Thats ok though, I used brand new front and rear 240 bumpers on my early 260, you just have to mod the brackets on the 240 bumpers.... no big deal, if I can do it, you can I'm sure.... good luck joel

Thats not to bad of a price. I guess it would be wise for me to change the way my wheel is mounted, from the backside, to the front like yours Tim. I think it would just be a matter of making a new bracket that holds the pick up sensor. Please keep me posted on this damper guys. thanks joel

Well, can I dredge on this abit also?? TimZ, Lockjaw, did you guys ever hear anything on that new damper ?? I'd like to look into this also, just to be sure I don't have to deal with that problem again because of the oem part not holding up... thanks joel

I just bought my next door neigh 88 Turbo Mitsu Conquest for $500.00 and this thing is primo. It has 57,000 orig miles and is white with maroon interior (leather, loaded) I ONLY bought this thing cause of the cond. of the car, but know nothin about a Mitsubishi. It has a mean looking body style with fat rear fenders, (kinda looks like a toyota supra to me) wide wheels, and this punnie little turbo on it... It does have a pretty good size FMIC on it though. I thought I'd get me somthing to put around in and give my Z a rest now and then... Anyone know of a site that I could browse to learn a little more about what I have here?? If anything, I will check over/ fix any loose ends on this thing and sell it to some youngster for alot more than I paid for it, after all, it's got boost....

I hate them also, but for the reason that they keep crapin out on me... I don't know why, but have a feeling it has to do with 7.000 + rpm ?? The thing stays together, it just stops working like it supose to. I end up being able to stop the fan with my finger (ouch!!). James, nice fuel system set up. Are those peirberg pumps ? I once had a bad/swollen slave cyl. rubber line that caused me some headaches until I discovered what it was. The line was so swollen closed that very little fluid was getting thru it. That would be a good place to check out...

after looking at it again, is it possible the guy isn't that dim, and just has it setting on the air dam just to show how "big" it is ???

To be honest, I don't remember what I have it at for sure. I belive I used the setting it recomended ( I think 60 or 65, in the tuning wizard) if that helps any....

Thats exactly why I want to switch over to a auto trans.... Not having to fart around with all those breakpoints so percisely...

I'll also think out loud a moment on this one... I think that would be the backlash. Looking in a FSM I have' date=' (was in a 80zx parts car I bought) it shows that backlash can be adjusted several ways, by adjusting pinion depth, and by shifting the carrier to one side or the other. are you sure it was flat to begin with? I bought one of them awhile back, and after removing it from the factory box, I noticed it was warped. I just braced it with my feet, then gave it a hardy twist, and what do ya know, it was strait like it should'a been. After thinking on it awhile, I sent it back and got a refund though... not for the reason above, I just went a differnt route.

Instead of sending this pud steve@goldenzyears.com a check or moneyorder, why not just let him know how our Z can do without his sham...
