  1. Are those the Quest lugs? Please post the details in this thread, along with the pic, that way dummies like me won't have to ask again....
  2. That's a BW 5 spd. They came in the later 280zxt.
  3. I think mine is kinda noisy also, but I assumed it was because of performance springs (Tomei), medium lift/dur cam, and the fact that I have a thin alum sheet metal plenum, which allows the valve noise to heard thru it on the intake side. To me, it's not a sound to be concerned about, cause I know everything is set correctly in the head, so it has to be due to the reason above....
  4. Kudo's Robbie!! What a impressive overall package... BTW, wrong forum?
  5. Man that one stop looks beat to hell! The only way for it to have those spin marks are if it's actually spinning inside the housing, at a different rate than the whole axle unit. What on earth made all the gouges and nicks along the outer edge of that stop?
  6. Thanks for that Matt!! I can't wait to see Your write up on timing the cams. This is one area I know nothing about, and I'm sure I can gain something on my motor by properly getting that correct. I just set my HKS wheels to zero, and went with that. I don't have any info on my cams other than being told the lift and duration (and that may not even be correct...). I know I had to clearnce the head for the lob wipe, so they are not stock spec. BTW, great pic showing what needs to be milled for a high lift cam lob to clear the bucket area!
  7. Yes, it's meant to be that way so that the light beam is lower on the on coming traffic side of the road. The step is higher on the side where the street signs and such are, for obvious reasons... Here is how you want to aim them (The bottom one is correct #C)
  8. Phil, I have two of those trannys saved up to use with my RB. If I swap out the front Z31 bell to the rb25 bell, that makes up the same trans we use for our rb swaps (rb25det RWD trans). I was thinking, if I could just get these two tranny's machined, and a adaptor made to the rb bolt pattern, like you did for the L6, I wouldn't need to source a rb donor bell to mate to the Z31 trans... Do you think that place would make up those alum adaptor plates to the rb bolt pattern? BTW, those tranny's can handle mucho power, compared to anything you've been using! Great Video!!
  9. I agree 100%. The thing is, there is no HID that will look like this unless you have a proper projector housing to spread the light correctly... I took this pic of mine a couple nights ago.
  10. Yep... it isn't only you experiencing this.
  11. This is the one I picked up last month. click
  12. I bought one just like that one. I haven't put it to use cause I'm still using my HKS twin plate, but once it wears, I'm going to buy a clutch to go with this lightened flywheel... I think these are a great price on a chrome molly flywheel.
  13. So far, so good... It does tend to go sideways on me real easy. I don't know if that is a indication of something wrong with the viscous coupler or not.
  14. I found these two pics in a album of mine. BTW, I do have, stored away, the only NOS new 88ss VLSD complete 1/2 shafts that I know of in existence...
  15. I'm running that diff. I find it hard to believe though that the stock VLSD 1/2 shafts will be the correct length. I had to have a custom pair made up, using AMC center shafts because the 88ss shafts were to long. There was a member "240z Turbo" that did a write up giving all the correct parts to use. It's also possible that this method was used due to the fact it was long before anyone made custom stub axle companion flanges (like what you look to be using) making it possible to now use the 88ss 1/2 shafts as they come stock OEM... Are the over all lengths going to work for you?
  16. Once you get everything straitened out, you need to add this little jewel to your Add On/Extensions > http://www.foxmarks.com/ it will save your rear sooner or later...
  17. Naah.... I don't think it should... ~click~
  18. A long time ago, I discovered that my 260z had one early (240/260) stub axle, and one later (280) stub axle on the car. So, to answer your question, yes, they both will work/fit, so long as you have the correct matching spline count companion flange that goes with the stub axle your using...
  19. This is what a 5sd looks like....
  20. The boost gauge appears to be steady. Please explain the part about the map filter turned all the way up... I don't understand that part... Congrads on the Son!!!
  21. Do you mean 1/2 shafts or stub axles....? two completely different items....
