  1. You should get a better response to your engine builder question over at the Non Tech Board, best of luck, the VG is a very durable engine if built properly.
  2. S13 may have a slightly narrower track? Its basically the same as the S14 suspension with a couple of detail differences that don't affect its performance.
  3. Of course, you are right Jon, thanks for the correction. Bend struts for camber, not caster.
  4. Ages ago but if the memory is good rotors from 80's model Peugeot four door sedans (404?) don't need spacers, if ~.5mm offset doesn't bother you. Probably no longer available though.
  5. Obviously I can't recommend a builder but in my experience Scat rods are good and engine lubrication can become crucial in high G turns so at least an Accusump is required. A good, read expensive, engine management system with data logging is essential if you are serious, together with a dyno tuner who knows what he is doing. MoTec M600 if possible, brilliant system.
  6. Love to see the finished job at the Nationals next year, hint hint
  7. Body repair shops for long and odd shaped cartons, tyre sellers for mag wheel cartons.
  8. The strut could be bent where it goes into the lower housing if you wanted to move the strut top for some caster, but that would have other implications perhaps affecting squat as well. I don't know of any rear suspensions that are adjustable for caster but I bet its been done with race cars. Might be an idea to tack the strut tops in and get the alignment checked before permanent welding, I'd suggest like you think a bit of caster may help rear end stability but who knows? 2+2 bus with its longer wheelbase should be fairly stable anyway.
  9. Info should be here on the DBA international catalog http://www.dba.com.au/2006/PDF_CATALOGUE/INTL_CATALOGUE/STREETseries_020308.pdf If not there are other DBA catalogs including a US one.
  10. Does this effort give you inspiration? http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67233079
  11. My Project S130 has a short nose R200 with a Nissan S15 OE Torsen type diff, I think some GTR's had the same diff center. I would be interested in a spare center at the right price. Group buy? Only one question : is the bias suitable for circuit racing? By 'bias' I mean the engagement characteristics of the center. Maybe John C could be given one to try on the Freefiddysee
  12. Yeh, there is no radiator or other cooling element back there? Only proper reason I can think of. The A pillar shrouds/deflectors may be effective, not sure about some of those scoops though.
  13. Assuming only the rubber bits will be needed you should be able to source them locally as a generic part by taking samples to a good brake shop. Pics would help see if they are ex Corvette.
  14. What is the purpose of those rear quarter scoops? http://www.factoryfive.com/table/ffrkits/coupe/coupestories/images/1471.jpg Because they look like they would have no aero benefit and would create a lot of drag.
  15. Interesting about the 33's cylinder wall thickness, I regret not going the 33 way instead of with a VG30DET. Hook a GT35R turbo up with the mid size turbine housing and you would have torque to burn, all with a compact and relatively light motor. Only thing I have heard is that the cam drive wheel on the forged VG30 twin cam crankshaft does not line up with the 33's heads wheels.
  16. One comparision that is relevant is between the S30 and S130 in that area, remembering that the S130 had a lot of aero effort put into it and the S30 none. S130 also still looks fairly modern around there, the S30 ancient. Compare the rear quarter windows too.
  17. Love that industrial look of those wheels, would look even better 9-10" wide. It may be possible to get them without the 'bolts'?
  18. One opinion for them looking good on a S30.
  19. Pic, looking from the front back. Orange patch is a jacking point.
  20. Plenty of aftermarket stuff for both of those too, particularly the MX5. And of course the stock spring/damper top mount and brace arrangement of both can be modified to fit the S30. Use the S2000 setup and you may be able to go like this, turbo model, genuine daily driver with street tyres
  21. Thanks for the offer and information John but that exercise would probably make it all too expensive. I know for sure that USPS will take 15" wheels in boxes and that Tirerack via Fedex export wheels and tyres separately. I guess my inquiry for wheels with tyres mounted made it too complicated. EDIT: ooops, why did I say that? The real problem is getting a response from the wheel suppliers. I guess impersonating as a US based customer would fix that but thats the last thing I want to do. Sorry John, my response above sounds less than receptive to a very fair offer.
  22. After a set of Enkei wheels for which I have the part numbers, plus am interested in a set of BFG R1 semi slicks. Have tried Tirerack and Custom Wheels Direct but I guess they get flooded with Emails and mine goes into the 'too much time' basket. Not sure what would be the best prepaid door to door shipping arrangement, I think USPS will accept bare wheels but wheels with tyres may go over the size/weight limit. Tyres are not essential, BFG R1's are not available in AU but plenty of others are. Any sources? West Coast would be better for shipping costs I guess, PM if you want.
  23. Mazda MX5 Miata, Honda S2000? If you transplant an entire suspension with Xmember/subframe the geometry is already fixed in place of course. Lets know what you decide.
  24. I was thinking, but did not say, front suspension. Can't recall seeing any tarmac competition car including F1 without some negative camber on the front. Of course F1 did allow active suspension for a while which varied all sorts of things. High tech yes
