  1. less than two hours between questioning a dealer for being sleazy and owning it. Moss doesn't grow under your toes, eh?
  2. I'm procrastinating on lab homework, I'll play. #1 - Daily Driver #2 - All Corners (must be AWD) #3 - High Speed Heaven (luxury & power) #4 - Mid or Rear (engine behind occupants) #5 - Off the Beaten Trail (4x4 & such...) #6 - Track Time (track vehicle) #7 - WILD CARD (just fill the bay - balls, class, style, prestige ... whatever) #1- M104 Turbo 190e #2-Audi S1 Group B Car. #3- SLS AMG (Super Comfortable Power) *prays for AMG Black Version* #4- Mercedes CLK GTR #5-Duce and a half. #6- AWD Turbo Mini... #7- Edge 540 (hey, nobody said it had to be a car!)
  3. Yeah. I asked since I went to the JY and saw literally 3-4 OM603 powered cars with IP's just waiting for the grim reaper to come calling. At the price of a JY pump compared to a newer pump or a Cummins pump, it'd be worth a shot.
  4. I know, but at a certain point, it's a common modification (if you're requiring it) to go to a larger 9-13L diesel mercedes IP as they used that similar style of IP in a whole bunch of larger diesels in eurpoe. My questions was whether or not Scott could use a MBZ IP to fuel his LD28T expedition...
  5. But which one? Speaking of IP's, I wonder if you could run a MBZ turbo diesel IP on your LD for more fueling?
  6. What could possibly inspire one to import a RB26 Z when they can have this pristine S1 432Z! If nothing else I want that 10k tach. http://www.rockyauto.co.jp/stock/detail.php?id=2068
  7. I'd like to have a set of those Arao heads! I think that there is much room left in developing multivalve, pushrod engines. They flow quite a bit more on the top end, and the force of having to move the pushrod and rocker, etc back on a valve closing event would be shared over two separate sets of valve springs meaning that the valve spring tension wouldn't have to be so astronomical and they could rev higher!
  8. !!! The M104 is lighter. Good news. Do you know how much power is left in his motor before he needs a bigger injection pump or he grenades the bottom end?
  9. Hmm... Lemmie check. Blueshark123 said that since it's high hp and front wheel drive that it will be incapable of anything but drag racing. You then threw up Chris Rado's purpose built, huge budget race car and said, look, a FWD car that has lots of power that's good at something other than a straight line, therefore making blueshark's comment void. Since, of course, if one unlimited FWD time attack car can do it, than the idea that so much power in a FWD [*edit* (I'll even mark it so that you can proudly point out more easily that I'm re-reading what I say to make sure it's valid) of any make or model regardless of suspension design or any other factors] vehicle makes it less than ideal for things like going around corners, or that it only excels at going in a straight line is now perhaps a laudable gesture, or as you would say, it takes care of it. Right? Edit dos: To the admin's: I apologize fully for this and will accept all infractions/bans deemed necessary to be placed upon me. There is no excuse though I felt the need to point out that one exception does not make the rule. Again, I apologize for my unacceptable and unprofessional conduct which is not at all an indicator of the quality of this website.
  10. um... Ok. So I corrected myself? That accomplished?
  11. The point is you're using one very high dollar well developed FWD car to prove that high hp fwd cars can handle. Which is akin to saying something to the effect of, since a C6R is rwd and can pull a 1:17 LS Lap time, and My car is RWD, it can do the same thing... Unless something is going on here aside from thinking about only one aspect of a car, the method of power delivery, and neglecting every other factor involved. I read, and watched the video, thanks. It's on a VE head it appears which means the motor is a little more recent that 80's technology . Still great numbers all the while. I'd love to have a VE in my Mini. Even so, given the look of how the car is setup and the air/water heat exchanger and ice box, I'm not sure this car is going to be seen at the next track day.
  12. Sweet. So this means since my car is RWD than it can lap Laguna Seca in 1:17 just like a C6R?
  13. Referencing that car is like me talking about the factory backed C6R program and saying that it's perfectly possible for my Z to work a road course in the same manner. Totally different body styles Totally different chassis Totally different levels of street legality. Totally different operating costs. The ONLY thing that Rado's car has to do with this car is that it drives the same pair of rollers. That's it.
  14. Well if you see a 6'2" guy crammed into a 63 mini wagon freezing his arse off bouncing around town, that will be me...
  15. Nah people just neglect them. When you run an automatic transmission without ever letting the thing warm up, going over GVW and never change the filter the reliability will wane on you. THe wiring just check for cracks and bad insulation in the engine bay. Other than that, if there's rust it'll be in the wheel wells or in the rockers. School is alright, lots of ridiculous classes this semester, how's your daughter handling it?
  16. transmission and wiring on the 190e.
  17. Work on an Audi... Just try one, especially a V6/V8 model. I dare you. I'm about 99% sure that Audi starts with about 5 feet of crap sticking out of the top of the hood and they just have a big press ram it all under there while they Slam the hood before anything can pop back out at them. They're good cars, Audi's, they're also a PITA to work on.
  18. Not only did it run, it put a .010 grove in the crankshaft.
  19. Why did the dealer pass up good 500e's though? Most of them have been babied...
  20. I'm quite sure the majority of people who work on cars, should not be allowed to. The number of idiots is skyrocketing. I may be able to beat that, but definitely not on the wheels. Anyone seen a mini engine literally held together with RTV? I have...
