  1. Sarah - I was shocked and extremely disappointed that the current edition magazine is a paltry 56 pages when previous editions were averaging 98 pages or almost twice as thick. Is there a lack of content for the magazine to write on or is it funding? I hope it is not a sign of the future and things to come as there is literally hundreds of extremely interesting Nissans and Datsuns to share with subscribers and enthusiasts alike. Yasin (Subscriber of the first edition of Z Sport AND Nissan Sport)
  2. Thanks for the feedback guys! I appreciate it. I am still weighing things as I have offers in Atlanta and potentially one in NorCal. I will let you know soon. Many thanks again. Yasin
  3. Hi Guys - There is a possibility of me moving to Houston and wanted to know how well do your Datsuns hold up to the Houston climate. Most of my friends seem to think there is a high percentage of moisture AND salt in the air that will be hard on the car (I have two ZXs and a mint all original '67 Roadster). I argued differently....what is the feedback from residents in Houston? Thanks for your feedback. Yasin
  4. Awesome Joe...I can relate to so many of these!! Love it. Going to forward to some friends who will also appreciate the content. Yasin
  5. Nigel - Why were your pulling your so high (7,000 rpm), do you have a cam in your car? Also if your AFRs were fine why would it be detonating...confused. Your MS can pull timing? Yasin
  6. Thanks guys! Its coming along...s-l-o-w-l-y! To answer your questions: - The wheels are 17 x 9.5" all the way around. - No spacers - 275/40 Rear - 245/45 Front - Suspension is a full coilovers front and rear which I had to re-do to fit the dang wheels! 9.5" wheels do not fit all that well on the ZX unless they are around a -25mm offset. These are -19mm which is all that is available. - Front Air Dam was purchased many years ago by a Japanese Body Kit Manufacturer that is now defunct. Yasin
  7. Careful on fitting these wheels on a ZX....they work but require care on a lowered car. Yasin
  8. Started building the white car when: 1) There was no such thing as a 350Z 2) Biggie Smalls was still enjoying the success of his FIRST album 3) Mentioning Twitter, Facebook, Texting, Blackberrys, MP3s and the I-Phones might put you in a mental institute But its coming along and I still have more work to do on it...it really is my "Christine" or "Eleanor"...and will never end. Bought the silver car this Spring to remind what it was to drive a nice Turbo 280ZX... So here they are together, the white car was driven today for the first time in 3 or 4 months...I cannot remember. Yasin
  9. Guys - Looking for a stock J-pipe off any 280ZX Turbo. Please let me know if you have one for sale. Thanks. Yasin (slownrusty@yahoo.com)
  10. Was *really* loving it right until the silver started. Yasin
  11. Looks fine to me... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spelt Yasin
  12. Your grammar and english is horrible..... hing is actually spelt "hinge" rodes is actually spelt "rods" yall is actually spelt "you all" herd is actually spelt "heard" Anyway....you really should post a picture of what the intercooler looks like, before we can assist you with your mounting issues. Other considerations: 1) Is your air conditioning and all associated components still installed? 2) Is your clutch fan still installed? 3) Is your factory air box still installed? 4) What are the dimensions of the Intercooler? 5) Is the Intercooler cross flow? If you think mounting the intercooler is tricky wait until you try running the piping. Yasin
  13. One of Porsche buddies sent this along to me...opening bid $35,000..yikes. Judging by his garage, evidently he is a Z enthusiast: 1,000 miles on this car: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1980-DATSUN-280ZX-BLACK-GOLD-1-AE-1-052-MILES_W0QQitemZ300336163505QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item45ed6e2ab1&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245#v4-35 WOW! Yasin
  14. Nice car..pity it was not a 5speed. 7MGTE is a good motor (as we all know). Yasin
  15. Thanks for the update and bump Daniel. I will resgister and plan to at minimum attend the Tynan's show. Yasin
  16. Thanks for the feedback gang anf Jeff. Jeff, are you running aluminum pulleys for the accessories: P/S, A/C etc? If so how do you rate them? Many thanks Yasin
  17. Gang - Any of you guys using Billet Aluminum pulleys on your L28 (specifically the Crank pulley, idlers and the accessory pulleys) - what is the feedback? I only know of one seller fabricating L28 billet pulleys currently (possibly MSA sells them too?). Thanks - Yasin
  18. Hi James - Great to hear from you and always enjoyed chatting with you. You provided great technical support and assistance and when I needed to size a new turbo for my ZX - thanks for your help (remember the compressor housing conflicts we had with the steering linkage-UG!). The turbo is working great and I hope to break some really decent numbers with it after my Haltech install. I wished your site was still up, there was some inspiring pictures of some great Z builds you were involved with over the years including yours and Tim's car. No matter how honest and hard working you are there will always be people that falsely accuse for their own screw-ups and short comings. So I hope you do not take it to heart, these people operate on the "why blame myself, when it is easier to blame someone else" principle...no accountability. Good luck with your Turbo NSX project...sounds wicked. Please post pics and share the build with us. My best - Yasin
  19. Jon - Rethinking what you mentioned! The gold piece has to be ontop as per Warren's and my original posted pic as the spring top hat will hit the 4 adjusting bolts and also have less contact surface. Thanks for the post Warren. Yasin
