  1. My recent aquisition, this weekend..'83 ZX Turbo 5speed 1 owner 51K on the odo! I don't need another car, but it was too nice not too buy. Yasin
  2. Ahh cool. I am Rennlist and Pelican and occasionally make it over to 6speedonline. Good stuff. Yasin
  3. Wow...awesome build and kudos to your attnetion to detail. I got into this thread late, but so worth it. Great choice on the SR20DET swap, that car is going to be killer with looks to match. Are you on Rennlist or Pelican per chance? Yasin
  4. Thanks for all the comments and feedback guys. I am pretty excited to drive the car and enjoy it, it certainly is a nice comfy cruiser. More to come. Bernard you always welcome to drive it to MSA bro! Yasin
  5. Well I need another car like a hole in my head..but I bought this car today. I first heard about it several months ago and kept toying with it and said let me go take a look at it. I came away impressed, lighter in the pocket but with quite the time capsule. It drives beautifully, not a shake not a shudder, great power and silky smooth. AC works great, every gadget works perfectly even has the original can of Datsun fix-a-flat in the hatch! Specs: 1) 1 owner car 5 Speed Turbo. 2) 51,400 original miles. 3) Every option imaginable for '83...perfect working digital dash, timer for the rear defogger, dealer installed Nissan Foglights(!), Hitachi wide sound stereo with fully working power antena, grey leather with no tears 4) Garaged its entire life 5) Factory two tone mettalic silver 6) Never crashed and never seen snow or harsh weather Has some cosmetics that I am going to take care of ...minor. Under the car and under the hood it looks brand new and beautiful. I am not sure what to do with this car????!!!??? As you all know I have my other monster ZX Turbo to play with...but having this stock cruiser is cooool! What do you guys think...? Yasin
  6. Gabe - Is definitely on the right track. A well made mandrel 3" exhuast is going to uncork a grip of power. Plus as Gabe mentioned what are your AFRs? Basically you are at 300whp which is decent but there is definitely much more to be had especially as you have a Link ECU to play with. Please share some pics of your set-up. Yasin
  7. If you are interested I can help you out, I have a side-business polishing and re-finishing metal parts. I am fairly local to you as well (Colorado Springs), what are you looking at in terms of a turn around time? Here is a sample of my polished work on my car: I just finished this for a friend's MR2 Turbo: The last Datsun L6 valve cover I did: I just refinished this BMW 635CSI valve cover a guy restoring his (you can see what the factory stock looks like next to it): Regards - Yasin (slownrusty@yahoo.com)
  8. The blue one was a group buy done in 2001, with South Florida Performance, when they were still in business. Only 7 or 8 of us went in on this group buy and I only know two other members that still have theirs (Jeff Priddy and TimZ). The bottom manifold is a genuine Greddy manifold. Yasin
  9. Your strut brace says "POO"... Is the Fit t-charged? Looks like it. Yasin
  10. Joe - You are a good guy man! My 280ZX was off the road for 2+years but I was determined to finish it, I never adopt the idea that I will let my car get the better of me. If you are 90% done, you are C-L-O-S-E! Don't give up. Further proof that you are a good guy is the fact that you have taken your niece under your wing to give her guidance, support and most importanty a family member that cares. The rewards will come, if not now, eventually. On your back pain, hang in there bro. Lots of therapy and don't over do it. Listen when your body talks to you. And remember to exercise, get a great therapist and specialist you trust (as there alot of flakes out there). I am assuming you have a supportive and loving GF, that can make any situation so so much better. Having encouragement and love under your roof is very healing. I have gone through a terrible past 7months, that was life changing and trying to stay positive and keep my thoughts focused and on the up and up. A successful person is not measured by how high a ladder they can climb but how high they can bounce when they are at the lowest point on their life. Always. Yasin
  11. TimZ has the most impressive L series engine built. Truly inspiring. Yasin
  12. Do yourself and buy an auxiliary oil pressure gauge and hook it up at the block oil pressure sender and take the guess work out. I HIGHLY doubt its the oil pump. Yasin
  13. The travel was probably acceptable, but the ride was terrible and the car sat so low I was worried about damaging the lower parts of the body not to mention the oil pan etc.. A low car is great but for our aging, pot-hole, rutty roads it needs to be practical. This the extent of the welding required for the front, it is a steel sleeve welded on the strut tubes to support the threaded collar of the coilover. This was my first take...it was way too high: So had to go back cut them out and re-do them to the height sown in the above pic. The spring perches on the rear have to completely cut out. Here is my ultra rare and amazing Tokico ProDraG from Japan that I am using currently: Rear coilover sleeve: This sleeve was made from all exhaust tubing. You can see the length of the entire sleeve is a hair under 10" in length. I originally made the first sleeve only 5.5" in length and the car still sat too high, so this sleeve you see here is my actual second attempt. I did not take any chances hence the 10" length - size in this case does matter! At the bottom of the sleeve is the collar that the threaded sleeve will sit on and it is only a 0.25" larger in diameter - large enough to fit over the 10" sleeve but small enough for the threaded sleeve to butt up against - are you still with me? On the top of this 10" sleeve is a large washer bought from Home Depot and welded in place. I had to drill the washer out a bit larger so that the piston on the strut could pass through it without getting hung up on it. So if you think about it the weight of the car will be resting on this 80cent Home Depot washer - sounds precarious but there is a very strong weld holding it all together and so far I have had no problems with it. So this piece will fit over the top of the strut. Regards, Yasin
  14. Really coilovers are the way to go...fabrication required and measure twice and cut once. You need a welder and trial fitting as you go. All the way down: More practical ride height and compliant for the street and newer wheels: how my car sits now: Yasin
  15. Cool video! I actually enjoyed it. Yasin
  16. Wow..thats a good looking front spoiler and car!! Wink! Yasin
  17. Pray tell..where did you find this lost soul? Yasin
  18. Send me your email address and I can scan each 8.5x11 portion as its a fold out and can scan it as a jpg. Anyone local to you have an ECU you can try? Yasin
  19. Mine (the blue SFP manifold, the other manifold is a Greddy unit)... Yasin
  20. Daniel - Oooh good point...would be great to bring the ZX and shake it down a bit on the track...! Yasin
