  1. Mandrel bent stainless steel is not cheap, it was a bit more than I thought, but they worked on it for 9hours straight. I'll check the labor and get back to you. Yasin
  2. Thanks once again for all the compliments guys! Much appreciated the entire system parts and labor (not incl. the Burns Muffler) was about $775. If you do a search on YouTube under "Datsun 280ZX Turbo L28ET" I have a full sound clip. Regards - Yasin
  3. Thanks! If your probe is monitoring moving oil, it will be hard for it to register a reading (I am pretty sure this is your problem), whch is why the pan is the best location. To me it was worth the effort to drop the pan run it over to my fabricators and let him weld a bung for the oil temp sensor. If you had a digital pyrometer, you could always verify the temperature of the lines and that would give you an indication of oil temp. Regards - Yasin
  4. You are right killer deal. I bet he includes tons and tons of spares. As much as the TurboToms is nostalgic, its the first thing I would eBay and then EFI that sucker! Yasin
  5. I thoroughly commend you on great ingenuity! And I love your car - it is beautiful, so evidently you know what you are doing.. but here are my concerns. 1) I much prefer a "full-sweep" gauge for AFR...that way its easier and much faster on the eye to read and react (more importantly). It only takes a split second to detonate a motor and I would rather 360degrees of calibration to know the difference between the numbers. Also from your YouTube video that needle is dancing around like crazy it is tricky to tell if its showing 12:1 or 13:1 and the calibrations are very close, I would be very nervous about that, as these L6s are not happy beyond 12.2 or 12.5:1. Hopefully your filtering will mitigate this. 2) What is the need for a 10K tach on a L6 motor when they make torque power about 4500rpm? Assuming you are running a L6? Great work none the less. Yasin
  6. Cool vid Phil!! You work quickly! So seat of tha pants any difference compared to the HY35? Yasin
  7. Wow...$48 for an intercooler that huge and shipping is reasonable too...that simply blows me away...DAMN! Yasin
  8. I am running a Perm-A-Cool oil thermostat with a front mounted Oil Cooler and Autometer oil temperature gauge which has the probe threaded into the oil pan. To answer your questions, usually within 5 minutes my gauge starts coming off the peg and usually within 15-20minutes its at 180ish F on the gauge. My set-up: Yasin
  9. Phil stop flexing your mooscles for Hanz and Franz...and stop street racing Antonio in his Corvette and brew some coffee and invite me over...heee...saw the coffee maker in the background in your vid! Yasin
  10. Yup I did this last year on my ZX on my BetaMotorsports CF hood. I then painted the hood white to blend with the car, so it does not look like a CF hood at all. My friend who manages the body shop that painted my CF Betamotorsports hood suggested I make an aluminum plate in the shape of the Aerocatch "cut-out" to reinforce that area where the Aerocatch mechanism actually bolts into - which makes sense. I have yet to do, but may tackle that this weekend. Here is a quick pic of mine: The hood when I received it from John Coffey BetaMotorsports Aerocacth installed: Sorry to hijack your thread Austin! 11. I am pretty sure the CA cops are more concerned with the more modern cars with younger drivers and obnoxious exhausts, way too low stance, flashy paint, flashy wheels and flashy body kits. Easy targets, that stick out and cops "do profile" (unfortunately). The Z being such an old car and really classic car, will draw very little if any attention unless you are bringing attention to yourself with say aggressive driving -or- in a convoy of flashy cars, where they will pull everyone over and check over each car carefully. If you are worried about an intercooler what about exhaust, I am sure having a L28ET on your car it has a louder and larger diameter exhaust? If your car is a '75 or earlier, you have even less to worry about. As mentioned by Vintage you can spray paint or powder coat it black to make it less conspicuous. With the heat of California, I would NEVER run a turbo car without an intercooler. Bo..car is looking great as usual! Yasin
  12. Bro - If these is one person that can resurrect this car, it would be you!!! Yasin
  13. Glad you got her home safely Clive!!! Yasin
  14. Just got these pics from a Porsche New Years Drive and saw a few S30s in the line-up...any members from HybridZ? Cheers and Happy New Year. Yasin
  15. I have always liked that car, and hoped that someone would have saved it by now. Even thought its a 2+2 it suits the body kit due to the length. Good thing its so far from me, as I would be tempted to buy it. I think its neat. Yasin
  16. I'm in touch with my feminine side, does that count? Yasin
  17. Awesome work Austin and once again very inspiring! Yasin
  18. Yup it sure does. Loose the diving board bumpers and save close to 60lbs in the process too and will look so much better. Yasin
  19. Is he a fan of J-Lo or Jello...or (worse) both? Yasin
  20. Considering I have a big mouth...I am left gasping for words...totally and completely in awe...WOW! I wish I had a sliver of his talent...I would love to be an apprentice under his wing. He is a big Datsun guy...did you guys see this on his site: http://www.studiotimecapsule.com/car_guys_around_you Yasin
