  1. Revised Feb 7th 2013 #5 for newbies. "Gangster-slang, or any other cute, obtuse, street-talk dialects are not tolerated. Write in clear English that does not require a current knowledge of the latest street-slang. Text message or IM shorthand does not qualify as English. Always try to use proper punctuation, spelling AND capitalization."
  2. A friend bought a 1964 289 Cobra used in 1967 for $4,200. He sold it 30 years later for $185,000. I have owned my Z longer than that. Unfortunate for us the Z values never followed near that or the Toyota 2000 GT. And they should not have either. A 240 will just have to wait a lot longer.
  3. Nope. I drive an old car because I have no interest in getting with the times.
  4. Second owner car as stated. The build is now 11 years old. Still looks mint. Ad does say "Make Offer" If someone in the States wants it, throw in an Offer. Nothing to lose.
  5. I don't know what dope means describing a car. I am old school. Is that a good thing?
  6. You are correct on that number NGK7334. They said it was NLA. Thanks. Some one will have some.
  7. Is the BP6ES-11 still available? Reason I ask is I used to get them from my local Advance Auto store. They no longer show them in their computer even though their website still has them listed. I may have to call MSA. Their website does not tell you which ones they have. Just "we will send you the plug for your car" I use these in my L28 with MSD ignition.
  8. My L28 came from JY. Ended up being in great shape. Good compression and uses no oil. Converted to carbs so no EFI parts to worry about. I like yours is still sealed up. Many have valve cover removed with head parts missing. It is then left to sit in the weather and engine fills with water and dirt.
  9. The only real value of both of those cars is as parts cars for a project car in far better condition. IMO. One can say they are free, but I look at it as someone handing me a bill for Thousands of dollars.
  10. You are correct there. I went to the big front bar when I used to autocross a lot. I tore one of the mounts from the frame of my 240Z. After repair I went with the 280Z front bar. That big bar is now wall art in my garage.
  11. 34 cars in your yard? I would love to see a picture of that.
  12. I was wondering what shock they were going to change to. Did the price increase?
  13. I see your uncles car has the aluminum offset bushings in the rear as well.
  14. Warning. I bought the Moog outer tie rod ends. A Moog was in one box and another brand in the other box. Came from Rock Auto. They said that is what Moog does is put whatever is available in their box. They said good luck and did not want to take them back. Nice.
  15. TRIG = Transistor Ignition. Its what all the Datsun mechanics called it at the Dealerships.
  16. Likely the TRIG box is bad. Fairly common on these old 280Z's One tell tale sign in poor running once it reaches operating temperature. The box contains two ignitions. One is bad. The emission one that kicks in when warmed up.
  17. The Weber thread in the FAQ section will help you a lot on getting it to run the way you want. You may need to change out that idle jet for a larger one.
  18. Schroth Belts makes one you could use. Patent for DOT use. Not many know about them. I had them in my own 240Z. http://www.schrothracing.com/engineering
  19. A +14 would maybe work but I agree, those -14 would need fender work.
  20. From what I have read a DynoJet would yield results of 13-15% higher over the Mustang dyno. Before you compare numbers with someone, first find out which Dyno they ran their car on.
  21. I have been to Kelly Moss Motorsports. Major Porsche build shop. Very cool operation.
