  1. :eek2: You could've gotten a fair chunk of change for that thing up here. Rust free body's like that are pretty rare in these parts
  2. Found them laying around at work so i got em for free. Otherwise i would've bought ngk v-powers. I'm not complaining.
  3. Yeah, thanks for the idea. I still have to get at the rear speakers though. I have a serious lack of midbass right. I just have the 2 meantioned speakers in the front, and an infinity 10" sub.
  4. Well went the route nbesheer did. Only i've got a oem speker in the factory location, and a slightly bigger xplode rigged into the drivers side
  5. Stock l28, i beleive there were ngk br6eix iridiums. Not gapped.
  6. another canuck here. Winnipeg Manitoba
  7. I'll likely be doing that with some fiero seat later this summer.
  8. Uh, i paid 6 grand canadian for my 83 280zx n/a in good shape (for a datsun). There was another that sold the same week for 8g, same year, but freshly restored.
  9. Suprised no mentioned aluminums resistance to corrosion yet. That alone might make it worthwile.
  10. Well mine's a 2+2, but there were no exposed screws on the grille.
  11. from behind then? so i do have to take out that whole interior panel. That would bring me to my next question. In the door jamb, there's 2 plastic retainers, with smooth tops. I tried breifly to pry them out also, and they didn't move either. How would you go about removing those?
  12. Alright, i got another problem. How the hell do you get at the rear speakers. I figured the grilles would just pop off, but i pried at them pretty damn hard, and they didn't budge. Please don't tell me that whole interior panel has to come off.
  13. thanks for the offer but i think i'll pass. Today was my first time driving the z since it went into hibernation, and a guy pulled my over to tell me he had a 82 turbo parts car. The third time someone someone has done that now. I just got my amp today. If i raise my seat up with a washer or 2, it should just barely fit under there. Kinda nervous about driling through though. I'lll put factory sized speaker in the rear locations, and under the dash, then maybe later on some tweats mounted on the headliner or something.
  14. 280zx's are extinct in junkyards around here:icon_frow
  15. Thanks a bunch! I'm not to keen on drilling holes in my interior, but yours does look pretty good. I guess I'll use the factory passenger side location, and find somewhere under the dash on the driver's side. Then maybe some a pair of tweets in either in the console or headliner pointing at the occupants
  16. thats pretty slick looking. I've now got my box put together minus the vinyl wrap. I'll get some pics of it completed and in the car this weekend.
  17. If you have pics that would be great. I'm thinking maybe i can find some space under the dash deep down in the footwell. How hard is it to access the right front speaker under the dash? I also took another look under the seat, there may be room under there for my amp, but only a test fit well tell for sure. If it does it will be tight. You think that some small 12V auxilary fans over the vents on the amp might be alright?
  18. I've got a 2+2, not sure what these storage boxes. I need speakers in front of me though, i'll have a good look in the fotwells tommorow, see if there's room under the bottom of the dash or something.
  19. Well the problem is the i don't want to cut anything, and i don't want to mess with the speakers already in the dash, as i don't want to loose bitching betty. I'm going to look at my door panels, cause theres a map pocket there, and i'm thinkin that if i take the inside "layer" of the pocket off, then i can later reattache it, to cover any screw holes from screwing a speaker pod in. Although i have done fiberglass enclosures in the past, i don't feel making one right away, as my sub is pretty much done, and my car should be back on the road this weekend. Also, how have you guys hidden your amp? Doesn't look like there will be room under the seats like i was hoping, although i havn't go my amp for a test fit yet.
  20. Feel free to donate seats for my s130!
  21. Was forwarded a link by another z car enthusiast over a local forum when i bought my 280zx last summer.
  22. well you could definately put 6x9's in the back, you just have to divide it into 2 equal volume chamber with a baffle, and off you go. I built a model of my infinity sub in cad, and the tolerances are are very tight. There is 3/8" between the bottom of the box and the corner of the magnet. This box would not work with anything bigger than a 10" sub, and even then, i'm sure there very few that would actually fit.
  23. well the tint is photoshopped into the second pic i posted. I do like the look of tint, but the legal limit on tint for the front windows here is 50%, and i'm not sure its worth it, and i can't afford tickets for illegal tint.
