  1. prolly not, since a jza80 supra and a 300zx z32 are different ball games
  2. I was looking to buy an ma7o supra before i got my z. The 7mgte is pretty tough with a metal headgasket and properly torqued arp studs, however even then, i wouldn't expect it to last all that long. 20 psi seem attainable on a stock bottom end, but that would require a new turbo, as the stock one overspins at about 15-16 psi or so ifrc. Once the headgasket blows though, its very likely to develope rod knock. Be weary, cause if someone drove there supra with a bhg (yeah, a commonly used acronym for blown head gasket on the supea forums), there a good chance the motor needs to be rebuilt. Styling is subjective, but i prefer the sleek look of the ma70 to a z31. Personally i would take mkIII supra over a z31, but thats just me.
  3. Stupid question, I know, but after stumbling across a few posts, i learned that those things that look like frame rails can't support the weight of the car, so where can you place a floor jack under a zx? My jack won't even fit under thos rails without first using the factory scissor jack and lifting the car a few inches first.
  4. I hope you document that build. Thats my plan for next winter hopefully.
  5. Drug dealing? somebody had to say it. Do you have the tools and facilities to be a mechanic?
  6. Student taking civil engineering, working at canadian tire's parts department
  7. This is what i was looking for before i got my z. Not the prettiest thing on the eyes, but i think its an amazing sports car. Inexpensive, light weight, performance oriented mid engine setup, and the supercharged models move along pretty quick. Definately a drivers car.
  8. this is a photoshop of what i intend to do to my ZX. Nothing incredible, but i like the look. I'd like to shave the top of the bumper to open up a space below the hood, remove the lower grille, and shorten the front bumper. I'd also add a subtle lip, and front mount intercooler peering out, but you'll have to use your imagination for that. Its also lowere about 3", and thats how i will paint my rims.
  9. Bought my 83 zx n/a 5 speed last july. Was in pretty mint shape othere than some dents here and there and a few scrapes in the paint. 138 XXX kms and it runs like new. Its daily driven in summer, but may have to take a short break to receive a cast iron snail when funds will allow.
  10. -T-tops and other glass -radio panels (good for making fit kits for a/m decks) -rims -deck lid struts if there in good condition -clean body panels
  11. My 83 is down with a blown alternator at the moment. It had all the symptoms posted in this thread. Anyways, i've been having a hell of a time trying to find an alternator locally, but had never realized they were different for 83. Would it be worthwhile buying a 79-82 alternator? I assume they bolt up the same. I also like the idea of an external voltage regulator. I picked up an internal votage regulator for mine cause it was only $15 CAD, but returned it after i read what was involved in installing it.
  12. I'm dying to see your car in person. Are your not a member of the winnipeg datsun and z-car club are you: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/winnipeg_datsun_and_z-car_club/
  13. i dunno, but theres a meter of it coating my entire car edit: well since your american, one and a lil bit yards:D
  14. It wasn't one of my freinds. This was just copied and pasted from a local car forum. Thats i why i put it in quotes
  15. if the second one didn't look like the bodywork was plywood, it would be a pretty cool looking concept. It looks pretty funny with no curves though
  16. I would say mr2 turbo, or a mark IV supra.
  17. When and where did you find that? I'll buy it off you!
  18. come one man, canada runs on dollars, not pounds.
  19. Its not perfect, but one of the best condition unrestored ones in town. The original owner was my highschool gym teacher, and i admired it every day (yes it was winter driven since new, and escaped with only a rust hole in the passenger footwell, and some rust behind the T-top seal. It was undercoated however)
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3NVJ4pEFuY thats ones way cooler. Too bad only a toddler could fit it.
  21. nothing special, just taken with a dated cannon powershot:
  22. 6000$ cad for my 83 280zx n/a. I think it was worth every penny.
  23. nice concept, but why is that pic photoshopped?
