It's definitely a Z, that commercial has been on for months down here. Makes me a little sad every time I see it.

If i remeber what I read in my SU book a while back (dont have it with me) so long as the needles are right you shouldnt be having a problem. This is a dumb question, but did you Sync the carbs? With my old stock 2.4L I had a bad front carb (previous owner did some serious damage with his "rebuild") and when I attemted to sync the carbs, I just couldnt get them right. Because of the way I wound up setting them, I had amazing torque, but the carbs started fighting above 4K power completely died off at 5,200, and the tach stumbled at 5,600. didnt get it above 92whp... But the torque at the begining would throw you back in your seat. I have a feeling you already know what to do, but try synchronizing them again and run it. Sounds to me like they might not be quite in sync.

Yes yes, but from my understanding, the T5 requires i different sized drive shaft. I'm personally using an 82 NA 2+2 trans in my 240

For S30's, virgin territory for CF would probably be Fenders, inspection lids, Headlight covers, cowl, and the rear interior panels. Cant say I've seen any CF headlight buckets, but there are definitely a lot of Fiberglass ones around. CF headlight covers would probably be the easiest things to make, BUT not really practical for most people since you'd have to take them off for night time driving. You can see in my signature that I have painted headlight covers, but right now I dont really drive my car, so I don't really have the hassle of taking them off at night. CF headlight covers would probably look out of place without CF headlight buckets though... and the CF Headlight buckets would probably look out of place without CF Fenders. The inspection lids would probably be the second easiest thing to make, and would go nicely with a CF hood, so I dont think you'd have problems selling them. Fenders would be pretty cool, but I don't really know much about CF so I don't know how hard it would be to make them... Considering the Headlight, and headlight bucket has to be bolted to it, and the inspection lid has to clip on. The cowl would be interesting in CF, but that has a lot of holes/slots in it, I dont know how hard that would be, it would also go well with a CF hood and CF inspection lids. Lastly, interior panels. Door panes have been done before, CF dashes seem to be difficult and pricey. But there are plenty of panels in the back of the car that could be made in CF, not exactly the most practical thing to do since they would look a little out of place without a CF Dash and CF center console, but would be cool. I dont think they would sell that well though, but there is really no telling. I used to own an AE86, you could get virtually every inch of that car in CF, including the sun roof, hatch, doors... you name it. So if you're looking for some inspiration, you might try looking at some of the AE86 CF parts.

Making my own EFI intake... The First Casting

that is amazing, cant wait to see and hear it on the engine -
Theres the 280Z 5speed which has a weak fifth gear, theres an NA 280ZX 5 speed with a slightly stronger 5speed, and then there is the Turbo 5speed which is a Borg Warner T5 transmission

Here in Texas, if your car is over 25 years old, it is emissions exempt. I personally run a smog pump. No, not an air pump, but a pump that actually creates MORE emissions. God I love my state! JK Seriously though, a lot of states have rules similar to that, your car may be exempt. You may want to do a little searching at the Local DPS website. Texas doesnt really care what we do with old cars, so long as they are not smoking all over the place. Though in the last few months, they have stepped up emissions requirements for newer cars, and I have actually seen Emissions sniffer vans setting up "Check points" with cameras at certain Highway on ramps.

yeah, I saw that trailer too

That is EXACTLY what i meant, thanks braaap, I knew someone would get it!

I wasnt trying to imply that it was more stress, simply different stresses in certain cases. Never said drifters broke more than AutoXer's or Drag racers. I'm thinking more with the learning curve, most of the people I've seen drift around here, werent very good. You can put a car under a lot of weird stresses if you do something wrong when drifting. I brought it up more as a cautionary "Be prepared to break things" point.

that was really awesome -
If you've ever taken apart the intake plenum on a newer car, there's always a lot of carbon build up, often times the gummy wet looking carbon build up(I call it intake tar) that stuff can wind up on the injectors as well. When you put the seafoam through the brake booster line, it grabs onto that stuff and helps clean it up, doesnt make a huge difference performance wise, but it'll clean off your injectors and help keep them from getting clogged as easily.

sucks that he dented your car, but hey, atleast you got a good story out of it.

You'll be putting a hell of a lot of stress on the entire rear end, halfshafts, diff, suspension, and even the wheel studs. Then also to keep your car sideways, you'll have to hold the engine at a higher RPM for a prolonged period of time with a big risk of revving it up too high when you're first learning to drift your car. Granted, AutoXing and Drag racing also put a lot of stress on a motor, but most of that stress is going to be front to back, and some side to side shear, but cars werent exactly designed to be sliding sideways. When you put your car sideways it's going to create different shearing stress than the car is used to, or was designed to handle. You can build your car to perform better as a drift car by upgrading to stronger parts, but understand, Drifters break stuff frequently. Then again, so do drag racers and autocrossers. I have no problems with drifting, I just have a problem with it can cost. If you want to drift, more power to you, but I hope you've got a good source of income.

You can put it in the gas, in the oil, into the intake through a vacuum line(brake booster line), it has instructions on the back. As for a physical place, you can do it anywhere, just understand that if you put it through the vacuum lines, you are supposed to run the vehicle, and it will cause lots of smoke. You'll probably want a second person to help keep the throttle up a little because it will make it difficult to hold an idle. The only real issue is the smoke. I'd just say dont do it near any heavy traffic areas.
-
I use it on my 98 toyota 4 Runner about every 3-5k miles, through the brake booster line. I have 186,000 miles, car runs great. I've actually put a pretty thick smoke screen across all four lanes of a major road when I ran it through the engine at the parking lot at my work...... luckily traffic was pretty sparse that day..... Needless to say, I make better decisions on where I use the stuff now.

I was towing mine behind my SUV on a tow bar, came to a stop light and a guy on a bike pulled up and started asking me about it.

Actually got to see this car a in person, was there the night he first drove it home. Seriously wicked set up. I work across the street from StreetFighter and see his car take off pretty much every night now. Sounds awesome even when he's goin easy on it.
