  1. crystal ball Or you could try to find out who all the previous owners are and call them all... but that's the only way I know of.
  2. I was bidding on that too, I was the winner up till the absolute last second
  3. Very nice! Here are the promised pics:
  4. In one of the SU powerbuild books they talk about the early Rovers having SU's... i'll see if i can dig up the passage in the next day or so
  5. This is exactly the reason I park my car right in view of my bedroom window, I own a shotgun, and I load it with hollow point slugs. I cant stand it when people do ♥♥♥♥ like that. I'll admit to pulling my fair share of pranks, but nothing that would actually DAMAGE anything. Sorry bastards..... I fell sorry for you man, good luck on getting it fixed, hopefully your insurance will take care of it for you.
  6. Which link? there's a link that takes you to a bunch of old skylines, and then another link that takes you to a 2 page list of galleries... but no where did I see a link that takes you to a civic
  7. I have a feeling you're talking about this one: I found it on eBay close to a year ago and have not seen it since.
  8. if you have to set full advance to get the car to run, then it's the timing. timing chain or the dis gear... and yeah... you have to take the front off for that.... Sucks, but that's what's probably causing the problem, and the only way to find out is to take it off and look
  9. I had a similar problem, wit me it turned out I had the distributor gear a tooth off alignment wise.
  10. That my friend was the perfect response. I have a feeling he had A Z...... a Z28
  11. Similar thing happened to me and a friend. We had just finished putting some new parts on his Silvia and we were driving it through my neighborhood to test everything. We had an SUV that was about to pass us going in the opposite direction when suddenly "BAM!" HUUUUGE water balloon right in the middle of the windshield. We couldn't see anything, we were lucky we didnt hit any of the people who were out jogging... Also lucky it was just water, and not something like paint or a big rock. We were a mix of pissed off, and eager for something fun to do, so we decided we'd go after them. Because they had been going the other direction and because it took us a minute to get the wipers going to be able to see again they had already gotten away. But... this was MY neighborhood, and it's full of crazy figure eight streets and lots of roads that just circle back around. SO I told my buddy, "Ok, they lost us for now, but I have a good Idea where they're gonna go." We made a series of turns and in about 2 minutes we were sitting in the middle of the road... waiting... Then all of the sudden there they were, coming around the corner. We flashed the brights at them twice and revved the engine at them as they got close. They stopped, turned around and ran. I told my buddy Andrew "wait, do chase them yet. I know where they're gonna go" we waited a moment and then I told him to go, and told him a series of turns to take. We turned on to a seldom used side street, which I use as a short cut from time to time, and cruised down the hill at the beginning of the street. We rolled up in front of them. They were sitting in the middle of the road, waiting it out thinking we wouldn't find them. As soon as they saw us again they ran a second time. I told Andrew to wait again. After another minute I told him where to go again. This time they were at a stop sign at the bottom of another hill. We rolled up behind them, flashed the brights and revved at them again. This time they didn't run. We sat in the car 3 lengths behind them for about 5 minutes. They were probably scared sh!tless by this point, so Andrew and I decided they had learned their lesson. He peeled out in reverse, spun the car around and we took off. That was the most fun I've ever had chasing someone down. Sorry to hear about your car, glad you were able to teach them a lesson
  12. OH MY GOD!!!!!! HAHAHAHA! god that sucks though
  13. Actually, just tonight Z Rob Go (who owns the 68 2000 Roadster that is ALSO in that box) and I got a crazy deal on a better sized storage room with dual garage doors at the front and four regular sized doors at the rear, PLUS electricity. Only problem is, I already have it torn down to pretty much just chassis and wheels.... We had to load up the doors, fenders, hood, dash, seats, and windows in Rob's truck and then drag the car across the storage place with a rope at 10pm. I'll post pictures once i have time to take them. Nothing is sweeter than a Roadster and Z side by side.
  14. No, overheating problems are fixed, god only knows how, I didnt fix it.... Actually I meant temp as in temporary.
  15. Actually, it's going to be a while. The car is completely stripped again already... (i work fast when it comes to tearing it down) going to fix rust, weld in my new cage, rebuild 2 transmissions and I may be building anywhere between 1 and 3 more engines........................... That vid was of my temp engine =P wanted to see what it could do.
  16. HAHAHA, you beat me by 3HP. It was my first time balancing carbs, the front one didnt want to cooperate. Killed my power. On top of that, they strapped it down so tight the left rear wheel was rubbing the fender the whole time. They thought it was oil smoke and wouldnt let me do a second pull.
  17. What? 1 dollar a piece? I can go to the local auto parts store and get the exact rivet (In a box labeled GM) $2.98 for like 8 rivets
  18. Hey everybody, here's a dyno vid of my DemonZ. This is my first ever engine build. First time the car has moved more than 4 feet under it's own power in 10 years.
  19. I work for Advance. the K&N oil filter is rated at 99 or 99.3%(cant remember which off the top of my head) the Mobil 1 oil filter(at 99.8% efficiency i believe) is the only one that is better. At least at Advance.
  20. That would be pretty cool, but I think it would get a bit oily and brown on the inside pretty quick.
  21. Haha, an amphicar cool, They're worth 50-75K in good condition. If I remember right there were just over 3,000 manufactured. A good friend of mine has one. His grandparents had it in a barn for 20 years up north somewhere, and he just recently brought it down here. Needed some new rubber parts, but it started right up. Awesome car, pretty slow though. Top speed is about 75 mph I beleive. I've seen about 12 of them here in Austin. The local owners used to come out as a group to the car meets back when there was still a place to meet up at. *Edit* haha, I didnt notice the wiki link till after I posted =P atleast my info was pretty darn close*
  22. stock 240Z gas tank should be about 16 gallons
  23. I guess what makes mine different is it's origin. The car was impounded by the Austin Police, sat there for MANY years before it was sold. I found some information online that lead me to believe it was linked to a murder in Austin in late 95/early 96. The car sat in a small used car lot that belonged to a friend of the owner because the car was not running. After a couple years there, it wound up in a junk yard. I found the car by accident, but decided it was a good car to save. I bought the car on 06/06/06. Then found the Classic plate, DWB 666, on eBay shortly after. The only other thing that makes my car stand out is a knack for developing rare and complicated problems.
