  1. My mate was telling me his dream the other day. He wants to buy a big industrial shed (~1000 sqm) and build a house inside the shed in the corner. I think that would suffice for a garage.
  2. I hope you don't mean, As apposed to the s30 2+2 not looking good???
  3. WOW! Hope you didn't get pics of that incident. Sounds a lot worse than the finger.
  4. Gees mate, That looks nasty. It looks like you did the stitching yourself! LOL
  5. Good luck, thats too special too share.
  6. When I cant afford Snapon I use Repco. They are nicely built and will replace them when they break (wont swap as easily as snapon, but they will swap when you hassle them).
  7. Where are you posting this thread. Sounds very interesting.
  8. I agree entirely. Not only will good tools make the job that much easier, but they are also such a joy to use. I am sick of junk.
  9. WOW! I am really envious. I wish I was one of those people that had extra time like that (not to mention the money to do it too).
  10. You are crazy, Garage project, Zed project, and now trying to get rid of this bike. How many things do you have on the go at one time? You need to continue with your shed, I have been intently watching that project.
  11. Fair enough, that makes sense with your rear quarter badge and door handle. Will look great, good job.
  12. looks awesome. What is the plan for the chrome around the windows? Is it all going black or all going chrome? I like both with this colour, not sure which I prefer.
  13. Wow. I live in the wrong country. If you could get a Z4 M coupe or C63AMG for 45k in Australia I would be in debt up to my eye balls with cars. You guys have it really good over there with cars. This is only a c55 and it is $95k with 40000kms http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/MERCEDES/C55/details.aspx?__Ns=pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_ImageCount_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_LastModifiedDate_DateTime%7c1&__Nne=20&seot=0&distance=25&silo=1003&Cr=0&Model=C55&State=All%20States&__N=1090%200%20834%20285%20257%204294954563%201216&__sid=118CE5C5F9B4&state_id=0&Make=MERCEDES&R=6146535&trecs=1 Similliar prices for the M coupe. damn they are a sexy car http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/BMW/Z4/details.aspx?__sid=118CE5C5F9B4&Cr=4&__Ns=pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_Int32|1||pCar_ImageCount_Int32|1||pCar_LastModifiedDate_DateTime|1&State=All%20States&distance=25&silo=1003&seot=0&__Nne=20&Model=Z4&R=6109913&__N=4294967079+0+834+285+257+4294966860+1216&Make=BMW&state_id=0&trecs=59
  14. So justin, got that SC300 yet? or Did you decide on something different? My daily drivers are corollas, one for the wife one for me. They are pretty boring even when they are living on the redline. However that is not why I bought them. My idea of a daily driver is the following: 1/ Supper reliable/Start first time everytime (Both corollas now have upwards of 300 000kms on them) 2/ Supper cheap, averaged over the last few years, I have spent bugger all on them 3/ Don't die if they miss a service or two (or in the case of one of my corollas has 50 000 km oil changes) 4/ Cheap to replace. I only put third party property insurance on my DD, so if they get written off, they need to be cheap to replace. Everything else is just a nicety. I would definitely not complain about having some of the DD that the guys here have (Particularly jealous of that Audi Avant and some of those BMWs), but at this point of my life that would not fulfill my criteria for a DD. I would suggest you make a list of criteria that you need in a DD, and then stick to it. If something comes up that filled my criteria and was a cool car then that would just be a bonus.
  15. The way I tested mine was to pull the distributor out and spin the distributor. If you hear the injectors firing it is fine. (You will need the key in the on position and I highly recommend disconnecting the fuel pump power) If the injectors don't fire, you need to go one step further. Measure the voltage on the distributor signal wires as you slowly turn the disc under the Sensor. You will read a voltage change as each large slot is passed under the sensor.
  16. Well done, looks great. Just a quick question, how do you do the door sills and under the hatch area? Do you spray with the panels open? Cheers
  17. Why are you ashamed of that? It looks great.
  18. A fuse has a thermal damage curve (so does the wire it is protecting), the more current that goes through the fuse, the faster it will blow. It could be that the fuse you were putting is was too large for the circuit it was trying to protect. You can also buy fuses that blow at different speeds. So your problem is most likely that your wirings insulation is degraded and or the conductor in your wires are oxidizing and the result is your cable will not take the current it use to take. I would consider a rewire in the future as it will give you a good appreciation of what is going on. P.S. Dont lose the motivation, your doing a great job with the car.
  19. I quite like the germans take on aerials Sorry about the bad photos. And if you did something like challenger I think that it would blend in nicely.
  20. I have found that clutches always get a harder feel with time. I know this is a bad comparison, however each time I have changed my corolla clutch, it feels like the pedal is falling to the floor when I press it. After 20-30k kms it always feels so much better. By the time I hit 100k kms, it feels perfect. Although by that time it is starting to slip and I am thinking about changing it again. BTW, I know hard clutches are cool, but when it is a daily driver, it does get old very quickly.
  21. WOW! I am always amazed by your mass of knowledge Tony. Thanks heaps for clearing that up for me. I really do appreciate it. (No sarcasm intended in this post)
  22. I like it. Still keeps the lines of the bonnet, which I like.
