  1. I was hoping you had planned on filling in that gap, would look strange without it. Looking forward to see how the finished product looks
  2. Satan, The Z32 cas and RB35 Cas (And RB30 for that matter) both have the plug coming out horizontal with the disk. As for your Z31 distributor (And my l28 distributor that I was modifying) the plug comes out underneath. As for everything else, I believe they match up (Would have to pull my distributor open to have a look, which really isn't hard, I am just feeling lasy tonight). You would need to cut a hole in the side of your distributor though.
  3. Wow, they are a lot wider than I was expecting. It looks like they sit over the existing skin, kind of like a double layer, or double skin. Is this right, or do they completely replace the rear quarters?
  4. My car is a 260z but it is an australian version which has the smaller bumpers. I have at least a quarter inch gap this is how it attaches.
  5. I may be wrong, however I always thought the main reason that you put an auto in a drag car had nothing to do with speed. The reasons that I have heard are that an auto gearbox will generally last longer and take more power as it is not having gears changed as quickly or as hard. Might be wrong though. Just thought it had nothing to do with ETs.
  6. Back on topic guys, we are ruining BurnoutZ's thread. Sorry for starting all this mate.
  7. How about you buy that shell from the wreckers, put some cheap wheels on it (Also from wreckers) and tell them that it is your wife's car, or if you have no wife, your second car.
  8. Did I read that correctly? Are you trying to say a Turbo Charged car is faster than a manual N/A car? What about a Manual Turbo Charged car? You are trying to compare apples with oranges son.
  9. That my friend is what they call a Holden (General Motors) Commodore ute that has been modified (Read, we stuck some plastic to it) by their tuning arm HSV. This is what a regular Holden ute looks like http://liveimages.carsales.com.au/dealer/carsales/12776479.jpg Do you have any side on shots? Hard to tell what the rear fenders look like.
  10. Well I am glad it isn't a z car ute. By the way this is what we call a ute (Short for Utility)
  11. Ok, Ok, I guess I am just a dodgy workman then. LOL.
  12. Whoops, slip of the keyboard. Yes I do.
  13. What happened to the RB30DET project?
  14. Best was 0.8, average was 3.46. I am going to be a bad workman and blame my tools. Anyone ever tried to do anything remotely accurate with a laptop trackpad?
  15. Bloody hell, that looks menacing. Well done. I don't think Birds have to be worried about getting sucked into that turbine (They should go straight through unharmed) it is the children that will have to worry.
  16. Well since you are all wondering, I bought some OEM crimpers from these guys http://www.keefeperformance.com/weatherpack_connectors.html Only decent ones I found in Australia where $600 or $920. Infact even Narva (wouldn't consider them that great) wanted $280 for their non-ratcheting crimpers. I agree with Kirby, if you can get the right tool, the job is always much better, and if Delphi can't make a crimper that will crimp their own terminal, then who can???
  17. That kind of defeats the purpose of using less current.
  18. Ok guys, I got my mount back from the water cutters. Was a little dissapointed with the quality. They forgot three of the holes, the aluminium they used was quite badly scratched (Nothing abit of elbow grease couldn't get out) and their suposed 0.1mm tolerance was more like 0.5mm. But, I digress, it was still well worth it and I am glad I got them to do it. Here are the pictures, still thinking I will paint it black. Mount and Distibutor Cap Distributor Cap Spacer From Passenger Side (RHD) Distributor Cap Mounted Showing the Spark Plug Length Guys, if you are in america and can get the truck coils, then please use Ron's mount. Looks a lot better and would be a hell of a lot less hassle then mine. If you don't have access to the truck coils and you want to use something like mine, then let me know and I will send you the dxf file.
  19. Way to go, I recently got a Motec to replace my Megasquirt. Still in the installing stage, but I know I wont regret it. What CAS are you using? I have taken the optical disc out of a RB30 distributor and put it in place of my L28 optical Disc. Lines up perfectly (Thanks for standardizing Nissan).
  20. Austin, On a serious note, YOU HAVE TO MARRY THIS GIRL. She is definitely a keeper. Holding your exhaust whilst standing on a work bench, wow. My wife was helping me braid my injector wiring the other night, definitely couldn't do it without her help. Any women that loves you enough to help you out with things that you enjoy is definitely worth holding on to. Oh yeah, car looks awesome too, but we all new it would. Brad
  21. HA! Your insane and I like it! Hopefully the next one isn't street driven
  22. Very impressive mate. Leaded body work and all, well done.
  23. Rob, Are you sure the sulphur smell hasn't got to you? Selling the Z . Just kidding mate, great job with the Z, and good luck with you next project. However crazy it might be (As if an 8 second street registered car wasn't crazy enough). Brad
