  1. Might be time for an intervention....JK
  2. I had the same thing happen while racing in my 66 Chevelle. Hurst shifter just came apart going for 2nd.
  3. Joe, That really looks great. Love the 350Z wheels on it. Perfect with the paint. Mike
  4. It's cool, but it aint going to get you sideways.
  5. Just found this link in another thread. Makes my brake decision much easier. http://www.arizonazcar.com/newparts.html Thanks to Dave for working on another great s30 part.
  6. Scotty, My 78 shop manual says minimum is 10.5mm (0.413in)
  7. Great story John. Wish you had it on video.
  8. vanpeltsales.com LS1 block with heads $360 around 20lbs. I believe they have trannies too.
  9. That the same reason boat outdrives have sacrificial anode pieces bolted on. They get eaten away so the good parts don't. Anyway Nion, good to see your back with your car even if it is just a short time.
  10. Tony D, I've never met Elaine- but heard about her. Seems even the Nissan dealers here have a dislike for her. If you are ever in the area, or are going to be, pm me, and we'll get together. Mike
  11. quote- No, it's NOT an LS2 ! It's clearly something else...... Crap, after 3 years I find out I got ripped off...
  12. My girlfriend hasn't been around as long as the yellow Z we still have. She's pretty good as long as I don't get too carried away and spend time with her too. When I built up the old L6, I spent a little too much time in the garage. One night pretty late, the door opened, a pillow and blanket came flying out, and the door locked. I learned my lesson. I've had this Z 27 years and 5 more over the years since then. Vicki and I have been together 25 years, married over 21. Oh yeah, she paid to have the car painted for an aniversary present a couple of years ago and bought me the seats for Christmas that same year. She'd no more let me sell this car than one of our kids. Gotta love her!
  13. I see a really nice 240 (orange) every once in a while, but always going the other way down the freeway, so I've never met him.
  14. It was so nice to meet Paul and Ron. There are almost no hybridZ guys here in our area. I have only met one other on this forum. Looking forward to getting out to Sandy one of these days. PS- Its Vicki- not Victoria- even on her birth certificate.
  15. [quote name=milesz; Oh' date=' I also did the LS6 cam swap (springs, etc) about 2 weeks ago and need to tune for the new cam .[/quote] Miles- did you do the cam swap in car? I've wondered how hard it might be to do one. Thanks, Mike
  16. I had the good fortune to meet Paul (BRAAP) and his dad, Ron this weekend. They were in town visiting relatives and happened to spot my car as I was on my way to have lunch with my wife. They stopped by the house yesterday and visited for a few minutes. What really great people! We are blessed to have Paul on this forum. I'm hoping to get out to Sandy one of these days to return the visit. Mike
  17. Love the new air ride-er-water bottle suspension.
  18. Jared, My 78 only have one cable (no cruise conrol-bummer). But you don't really hook it up to a speedo cable anyway. It wires up to a speed sensor on the tranny and then drives the stock mechanical speedo. What trans are you working with that has no sensor? Oh, and I placed my box inside the right side kick panel where the old FI computer used to reside. Mike
  19. You can use those same back up light wires with new connectors to the switch on the T56. The reverse lockout is activated through the LS CPU and speed sensor, so if you are using the LS harness, it will just work. Just make sure when you go to hook up an electronic speedo or speedo drive, don't cut this wire. T-splice into it. I can't think of any wires going to the stock 4 speed except the back up lights. The tach comes from the distributor, not the trans. The speedo drive is a mechanical cable. It would really be best to get a wiring diagram for your particular year Z, and helpful to get one for the donor. mike
  20. No, Gary, bugs me too. And my neighbor down the street that builds rods is doing a 502 in a '55 Chevy for a nother friend of ours and is having the same problem with the Sanderson's for that too. Mike
  21. I'm also running the R/T mount with the t56 with my R200. Doesn't seem to be any issues.. Mike
  22. Tilton 3/4 or 7/8 depending on what slave/throw out system you are using.
  23. It's just personal preference.. Do you want to shift or not, and can you or will you wait and or spend the extra few dollars to get what you really want? For me, there was never a question. Mike
  24. Check the grounds-the switch provides the ground, not the power. I had this same problem and found that the grounds were not good after the switch. Mike
