  1. Timing is good. I loosed up my valves to .012/.010 and that helped alot.
  2. I have the exact same problem right now. I checked the normal stuff. New plugs, thermotime sensor, tested injectors, coil, vac leaks.
  3. Oh my God that is beautiful. We may be talking in the near future about some things...
  4. Here is the program I used. It took a picture every 10 seconds from a usb webcam. http://www.azcendant.com/ THE ENGINE FINALLY RUNS WELL!!!!!!!!! It took a lot longer then I thought. The process of swapping in the engine and getting everything hooked up took 3 evenings. I'm working 50 hours a week doing an engineering internship for the summer. Luckily it pays well. So after I got everything hooked up, I crossed my fingers and turned the key. It started on the very first crank! But then the problems started. It would not rev past 3000rpm and it was quite lazy getting there. I went through all the normal stuff. Electrical connections, AFM, TPS, coil, plugs, manifold gasket, vac leaks, and more. Well after 2 days of total frustration, I finally found the problem. After taking the valve cover off to check my valve lash, I noticed that the lobes didn't seem to be in the exact position that I remembered for TDC. I began to suspect that the cam was retarded by a tooth on the timing chain sprocket. So after rotating the sprocket by one tooth and putting everything back together, I tried again. AND IT WORKED!!! Runs like a champ now. Although L28et running N/A is a little sluggish.
  5. Cool, thanks for the idea. But I've got to ask, do you still have the DAD seats?
  6. Ditto on the torch. I used one to get the wastegate unstuck.
  7. Hahaha, thank you for such a good response. I wasn't worrying about the fenders anyway. They got damaged in a small accident and I'll be replacing the fenders, hood, valance, and headlight buckets. I had a few brothers and a friend helping. Things did get crowded sometimes. I mainly had them doing trivial things like the radiator. I had no idea my brother put that message in at 1:17 until you guys pointed it out. He got a good laugh that people noticed it.
  8. Thanks. Actually no, that engine on the stand is a new L28ET from an '82 zx. The engine that came out of the car was a '77 L28 N/A. I'm going to be running the L28ET on the N/A electronics until I have time to install MSeS/Holset.
  9. I setup the webcam and took a picture automatically every 10 seconds for a total of over 7000 pictures, then strung them together in a video.
  10. Mine does the same thing. I think my problem might be that one disc is a little thicker then the other.
  11. Well this sucks....... Someone slammed on their brakes in the yield lane while I was coasting behind them. I hit their rear bumper at about 15mph. My hood is tweaked, the right headlight bucket is bent, and my right fender is bent. That's not the problem. We want to keep it off insurance so I'm paying for his new rear bumper. Looks like I'm going to be out $1500ish. *sigh*
  12. School is finally over for the semester! Now hopefully I can find some time to work on the Z, while working 45 hours a week for an engineering company. My to do list. Ebay intercooler kit. 3" Piping. SX Fuel Pressure Regulator. Supra 440CC Injectors. I got a great deal on ebay from a Nascar team selling off a bunch of their old hoses. Perfect condition stuff.
  13. Sorry if its a repost! Here is a video I stumbled upon from the History Channel. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2878435827888982973&q=cars&ei=3tglSMvPJ5PCqAO-0bCxCQ
  14. I should have been more specific. It was their mill and lathe services I was referring to. Not sure about bending.
  15. Anyone in Houston want to do some TIG welding? Or does anyone know of a decent shop I can send my intake manifold parts to?
  16. Sandvik is all we use at our shop. Great stuff. They have an office just 3 miles down the road from here..
  17. Well, I might have fixed the lack of a hy35w housing! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270228078827 I love ebay:)
  18. Sounds like a great excuse for an LSD.
  19. Oh my God, this guy is crazy! The highest praise for MonZter, that is art.
  20. Dang that looks good. I'm a cnc mill guy, so obviously I want to know what kind of machine that is being done on, and if I can get the cad file
  21. I am known around school as the 280 guy with the huge grill... Its from an ebay excursion grill kit.
  22. That's a narly mess of tubes you have there, in a good way
  23. "Melanotan has been developed as a protection against sunburn and skin cancer. It delivers a tan without exposure to the sun. But tests have revealed powerful secondary effects, including weight loss and a surging libido." WTH?
